We actually got married here in 2017 and finally came back this February for our anniversary. It was just as we remembered, except even cleaner. While they don’t require guests to wear masks, I always felt safe. There was plenty of room to socially distance, the resort was pristinely clean, there were protectant walls where needed and all employees wore face coverings. We spent 2 days at the spa - HIGHLY recommend. Maria and her team were wonderful. There was a woman who ran the hydrotherapy that was very accommodating and friendly (maybe celcetia?). The fish tacos at Dukes were delicious. Rocky and Javier made sure we had a special table to enjoy our anniversary and provided excellent service. They then treated us like royalty at Lizo the next night where we enjoyed Mexican with a live mariachi band. These 2 really made the last few days of our visit feel so special. Wilberth IS THE BEST! He is not only friendly, but also makes amazing drinks (his spicy margaritas were my husbands favorite). He bartender our wedding back in 2017 and remembered us. He was only working for 2 of the nights we were there but made our trip so special. Julio filled his shoes the other nights at the Golden Bar. We stayed in the excellence club (adults only) and highly recommended that. Although there weren’t many kids around the resort to begin with. You have your own restaurant (Dommo) that had wonderful food for breakfast and dinner. There are also 2 bars for excellence guests that have better alcohol. Martin made me the most delightful margarita, I had to ask for 2 so I could take one to go. The beach access is also adults only, where you have food and drink service right to your chair. Carlos and Angel took great care of us all week on the beach. There was a gentleman who made us BEAUTIFUL sand art for our anniversary. His first name starts with a D, but I can’t remember if for the life of me. Pro tip- if you want a more comfortable mattress lounger, get their early! We parasailed, rented jet skis and took the catamaran to Isla Mujeres. The catamaran and jet skis were our favorite. Isla Mujeres is a MUST and there is a pretty affordable ferry that will take you there and back if you don’t want to do the catamaran. Our transportation to and from the airport was through the hotel. It was 10/10. The vehicles were new and clean and the directions provided were clear. The COVID test was a breeze. Just don’t forget to sign up for it when you get there. We recommend this hotel to all of our friends (with and without kids) and will continue to do so.…
We have recently returned to the UK having spent just over 2 weeks on the Yucatan Peninsula staying at three different properties (Fairmont Mayakoba, Secrets the Vine & The Finest Playa Mujeres). We have also stayed at two other properties in the area in previous years - Secrets Akumal & Unico 2087. The Finest Playa Mujeres was superior to all those other properties in every respect - service, aesthetics, food & drink, staff, amenities and covid-19 safety measures. We could not fault the hotel or its staff. Everything was perfect and we cannot wait to return. We stayed in the Excellence Imperial Suite (upgrade courtesy of the hotel) but I’m sure we would have received the same level of service and experienced the same wonderful hospitality were we in the room we originally booked. If you are debating what hotel to pick for your holiday in this region - look no further, this is the hotel for you! …
The most amazing anniversary celebration that we ever had, people were so warm and nice with us, they took the time and with patience helped us in our stay. Julieta and Pedro from Dommo, Oscar the chef, Samira the hostess, Francisco from the pool, Ivan from the market, all of them made our stay an amazing experience, we felt so happy that there are not enough words to describe. Definitely we will go back for the next anniversary to have another incredible time in that little paradise.
The swim up suite was exceptional with access to your own pool that was connected to the other rooms on the first floor. Every one of the waiters, waitresses, and other employees were also exceptional with their service, hospitality, and great attitudes. If you get a chance go to the Las Dunas Beach House bar on the beach of the property or wherever Daniel May is working as he makes the best drinks.
Would definitely visit again as we were there for a wedding in February and it was beautiful. The only issue was I wish my trip was longer so we could have had more time to enjoy all there was to offer
