After a very long drive from Austria, we chanced a stay here for a stop over before the crossing. The hosts were very welcoming and offered us a spacious, comfortable room for a family of 4. We visited a delightful french restaurant 2 min walk away that evening and enjoyed a tasty continental breakfast the next morning overlooking the garden....

We travel frequently between the UK and France and have tried all possible permutations of hotel & ferry or Eurotunnel and straight 1000km trip without stop-over. Once we discovered the wonderfully traditional Villa Blanc Marine, there was only one choice: Dunkerque ferry and stop-over in Bourbourg, just for the pleasure of being in a very relaxing, quiet, highly confortable and...

Owners are summonsed by pulling an old fashioned bell. Behind the blue doors is an auberge from 100 years ago, where you could imagine Maigret staying. Super period decor gave this place immense charm. We had the triple room with a super comfy old fashioned wooden bed. Bathroom not much - basic, but worked. Breakfast room also had super period...

My wife and I travel 1-2x/yr to the UK via the tunnel. Until now we always left early and managed to get in time for our train. But the traffic in Antwerp and to the coast has become so busy and unpredictable with traffic jams, we decided to stay overnight close to the Calais area and found this place (via...

The decor here is certainly eclectic, but all the more fun for that. The front window full of jolly Christmas kitsch was in keeping with the friendly welcome that the owner gave us. Our sleigh bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was new and spotless. The room was big and warm. The free wi-fi worked well. Breakfast isn't France's speciality,...

We were travelling as a family of four going on to Germany the next day so we had no time to look around but on a cold December night Bourbourg was far from hospitable. Apart from a pizza takeaway everything was shut down and deserted and and the Villa was very hard to find in the dark. We had 2...

Most of my thoughts have been said already by other reviewers, but this is quite quaint and not easy to find but guess the Sat Nav would have responded better to abbreviations! It is in the road next to the Town Hall! Very sweet hosts with perfectly acceptable accommodation. If you want modern, faceless hotel chains, then this is not...

Interesting townhouse in a small French town. About 30 minutes from Eurotunnel, easy drive but rather difficult to find once Bourbourg is reached. We had to ask for directions at the bar in the square. Helpful and friendly owner who even provided a car parking space in her garage. She recommended a restaurant round the corner which was also very...

No frills. Excellent value for money. Typical French homely guest house. Spotless. Excellent welcome (V. little English spoken). Lovely garden/terrace. Breakfast not exceptional but good value. Good convenient location for ferries & chunnel but make sure you make time to visit the church Bit difficult to find at first as only marked with the number 25 and a small routiers...

“We were in Chambre Cote d'Opale, recently revamped, big, comfortable, also an extra pull-down bed. Although overlooking a street our room was very quiet, not a main road, close to the centre but seemed to be a residential area.”
