This is a very well appointed modern hotel. All the rooms are en-suite with a dressing area and a terrace with a view over the local countryside. The breakfasts are amazing, with lots of choices. If you are a cake or cheese lover you will be in heaven.
The staff are very attentive and friendly and made our stay feel very special.
The local area is very interesting with two small towns within walking distance, and many more a short car journey away.
Our trip included meals in the restaurant next door, which again were very good.

Beautiful place, absolutely stunning. Friendly and helpful staff. Great food and wine. Pool is perfect.
4/5 stars, to get 5 stars the should serve the red wine tempered and not at 28 Celsius.
But never mind, this place and the staff will take your heart

Ca’ del lupo – hotelristorante, Piemonte (****)
Situated in Montelupo Albese some 15 km:s from Alba a town with 30.000 inhabitants. The hotel is a split level structure on a hillside in a modern fastidious style with a pool at the bottom. The rooms are larger than usual, the interior style has the same token and is also elegant. (”Ca’ del lupo” means wolf lair or hole).
The surrounding landscape consists of hills covered by vineyards and small ancient villages on the top often with an old church with baroque interior in the centre. At the horizon you can see the silhouette of the alps from the french border at the ligurian coast the whole way to the central parts with Zermatt, Monte Rosa and Mont Blanc etc. From the breakfast room and the terrace outside you have a breathtaking view of this scenery.
The restaurant is very good with typical italian cuisine. When I was there in the middle of september 2013 the service staff was young and held a pleasant low-key attitude and served us generously. But best were the wines mostly from the region such as Barolo, Barbera and Barbaresco. For instance we got some very good ”DOCG” white wines that I have not encountered the like of before or elsewhere.
”DOCG” (=denominazione di origine controllata é garantita) is the highest official classification whereas ”DOC” is the ordinary one. – This is a place that can be easily and honestly recommended.

We stayed seven nights at the Ca' Del Lupo hotel the first week in September 2011 with a walking group from the UK (HF Holidays).

The hotel is situated near the top of a hill with excellent views of the picturesque hamlet of
Rodello and its surrounding vineyards. All the famous wine growing areas in the Piedmont are but a short drive away. The rooms are spacious and clean.

The staff is friendly and reponsive to its guests. For example, the first night the air conditioner in our room was not working properly. I spoke to the gentleman at the front desk the next morning as our group was assembling for the days walk. Upon our return that evening, the same man spotted me and thanked me for letting him know about our air conditioning problem. He said it was fixed. And it was for the remainder of our stay.

An attached restuarant (run by the same family) features local wines and regional specialties. Based on the number of Italians eating there each night, it has quite a reputation with the locals for serving quality meals.

We stayed here recently after staying at La Villa Hotel Mombaruzzo also in Piedmont which sets outstanding standards and is our favourite hotel so is hard to match (and is also rated four star) so were hoping for something similar.

The staff here are exceptionally friendly and helpful and we were very well treated by everyone. The hotel sits in beautiful scenery on high ground where you can literally see for many miles (kilometres!). There are plenty of wonderful places to eat locally, even within walking distance as has been mentioned, which is great if you want to taste the amazing Piedmont wines and food. Also a very nice swimming pool. Our room was small but functional and immaculately clean. The bed was ok.

Good free wifi.

But what let this hotel down badly for us was the design. We found it very difficult to sleep at night as you could hear literally everything in the rooms next door. This is not helped by the floors being made of wood so you can hear every footstep and every conversation (in detail!). Our room was also on the first floor so above the restaurant area where chairs are dragged across floors etc. We found it impossible to sleep for two nights and were so glad to leave, just to get some sleep. This is not the fault of the staff but it is a great pity for them. Maybe we were unlucky with our room as I note another review mentioned this and it seemed he was also on the first floor above the reception etc.

Breakfast was very good with delicious cakes and a great deal of attention to detail.

This hotel reminded me very much of a good Novotel in its design. Very clean, modern, very functional, good pool etc but with no heart and soul and not homely. It is not bad at all, apart from the noise issue at night, but it just bears no comparison to hotels such as La Villa which I mentioned. So our stay was a disappointment. I think it is just the design of the hotel that lets it down as the staff were great so I feel almost guilty giving a negative review.

Would I go there again? No

Hotel Ca' de Lupo in Montelupo Albese is a medium size hotel. We were surpirsed to find such a trendy hotel in this "middle of nowhere". We especially liked the design inside.
We were here in fall, the surroundings were stunning, great walking and nice sights close by. We took the suite which worked out fine with three small children. It was spacious (with a terrace) and had a good feel. Beds were nice, linnens luxurious.
There's a restaurant with the same name a few meters from the hotel. Both the hotel and the restaurant were great quality for a very reasonable price.
The personnel was extremely helpful; lots of info on the area, where to go sightseeing, to buy wine, to have walks.
Although in high season there may be more couples than families, we felt welcome to stay here with our children. All in all, we found Ca' de Lupo a combination of hip luxury, friendly personnel and nice food for a good price.

Very clean. Angela, Pietro, Andrea were great and also the breakfast staff, too bad I don't remember his name.
Best breakfast ever, something for every one including real espresso/cappuccino. Great view from hotel room and outdoor eating patio.

We stayed just one night here, but I wished we had spent more time.

This hotel is located on a hill with great views into the Langhe region. The room was very spacious for our family, with a rather cool and modern design.

Breakfast was very generous, and the restaurant offered fantastic food! The owner's mother obviously makes the taglierin, which are served with truffles, herself!

beautiful, cosy and perfectly clean room/bathroom with terrace and a splendid panoramic view, exciting breakfast, warm and cheerful atmosphere. Montelupo Albese is a very good starting point for countless trips all around Piemonte. We come back every year in May (5 times) and we still do not have enough of it.

We just finished a week's stay with HF Holidays hiking tour. There is no better place to stay if you are visiting the area!! Staff are so friendly and helpful. Rooms are enormous and modern. Views are breathtaking. Breakfast is delicious. Restaurant next door has some of the best food we've had in Italy. You can borrow their bicycles to explore the area.

Le camere sono veramente ampie, tant'è che sono dotate di mini cabina armadio, per i prezzi non so' come aiutare, noi abbiamo una convenzione a prezzi particolari. Merita sia il ristorante che l'hotel: ottima scelta!
