I recently visited Wayanad with my wife and little daughter and happen to stay in Kallat Hotel. I was driving from Bangalore to Kalpetta. The hotel was easy to locate as it is just before the town. The hotel staff greeted us warmly. They upgraded my room from a non a/c suit to a a/c suit without any charge.

We checked into a Mountain View Deluxe Suite ( 2 Bed Room) which was furnished tastefully and was clean. The bedding, blankets, towels were fresh. There was a full time power backup and hot water was always available.

The ambiance was good n the view from our suite was spectacular in the mornings and late evenings.

The best thing was food, although the choice was limited but the taste and preparation was excellent. The hotel room service was good and on request they made milk available for the baby as well (early mornings & late nights).

Since I had very little idea of places around the manager provided me a map along with very clear directions of places around which was really helpful.

We stayed there for two nights and three days and I am delighted to say that the overall experience was excellent

Room was clean and it was okay,we had a great time there.
GREAT VIEW from our room !!
Love the place and people, they are really nice and very sweet.
we had to leave this place early morning by 5,we did not expect that they would packed us some nice cakes n biscuits to have on the way.
Restaurant was not that clean that is the only drawback, but food was really nice.

Dont expect too much and go,its a nice hotel with great view at 10th floor
overall we enjoyed our 4 night stay there.

Out of the many places i have travelled around the world, this was one place with unique hospitality with good hearted people trying their best to keep us happy..!!
Apart from that Kallat hotel's penthouse had the best view in town with the building being the tallest structure in a town located atop a mountain..
Beautiful view across many kilometres of lush greenery and natures beauty, misty beautiful mornings, comfortable stay, good hearted people to take care of u, value for the money u spend, easy accessibility to a lot of beautiful destinations including forest trips and trekking...
I guess thats more than wat u can ask for..
I am happy and would definitely be going bak..!!

The best thing about this hotel was the view from the balcony. The view from the room was into another room separated by an area populated by pigeons and piles of pigeon droppings. The room was carpeted with indoor/outdoor carpeting that welcomed you into a musty smell that could not be escaped. The electricity was sporadic throughout our group's 2-night stay. There was no hot water until we enquired about it. Breakfast was VERY basic. Our group has travelled extensively throughout India and are aware of the differences in living in a foreign country. Because of this we can state without reservation that this hotel was well below par and not up to the general standards of India.

Be aware, this is a 2BHK apartment complex , not a hotel. which means if you book this hotel room you are actually taking 1 bedroom + toilet attached to it. you still need to share living cum dining room and main entrance with other family. This piece of vital information is missing on all travel sites/ oyo rooms. early birds will come and flock 1BHK unit of the apartments, so if you have confirmed booking and you are arriving with family, please be aware of the fact mentioned above. well if you are taking both the bedroom in the 2BHK unit, i think you are good but thats the homestay ? not a hotel. If you think that calling oyo helpdesk and reception will work at 11 hour then my dear friend you are thinking in wrong direction. no one can help you at 11 th hour. There are hotels which technically are hotels ( not 2 BHK units) for ex - mount avenue etc which offer better amenities at almost same cost of standard rooms and obviously with due courtesy

NOTE: be also aware of security person who will rudely ask to park your vehicle at that place not at this place.

disclaimer : i have given all reviews based on my honest assessment of the attraction always being anonymous. just that the management dont put counter review saying that you didnt have booking in aforesaid time :

First thing it's a apartment building which is converted into hotel and some floor are still residential apartments.

Pros:
1 Nice view from the top floors
2 Rooms and bathrooms are clean
3 They got our request to postpone our booking dates without any hassle

Cons / nightmares
1 No bed lamp so people having kids cannot stay
2 No tables or desk of any sort
3 Common bathroom for all rooms
4 No hot water facility only one instant kitchen geyser installed in the bathroom
5 One plug point for all three rooms so all of them can't charge their mobiles
6 No drinking water also provided
7 Rooms don't have separate TV only one common TV
8 The so called buffet breakfast is pathetic had only three items that is bread, poori and a fruit that too all so damn chilled.

In one word the 3 bedrooms suite or apartment is not worth paying more than 1500 rupees per night for the rooms and services they offer (we paid 8100 after discount for 2 nights through make my trip)

Now the nightmare begins:
First the staff did not respond to any of our requests. There was no power backup for our room and we were disturbed for some electrical repairs in our room during midnight at 11.30pm and with very ease they told again they will come after 1 hour for further repair so that we can have a good sleepless night stay. when asked for a room change they were not even bothered. The nightmare continues till we checked out in the morning , we were billed for our breakfast which was complimentary and also billed for breakfast which we requested to be served hot and more over the great marketing manager Mr Shabeer threatened us to lock us inside till we pay for the wrong bills and was treating us like a teacher controlling their kids in the school, did not have any manners or decency how to behave with the customers.

Please do not visit this place if you want to have a good holiday or stay.

2. approach road could have been better.
3. good hospitality.
4. clean rooms and bathroom
5. good staff.
6. food not upto the mark.
7. candle lit dinner only in 10th floor.
8.stay as if in a apartment rather than a hotel.

we stayed for 2 nights in december in the 2 bedroom suite. the suite had 2 bedrooms with queen sized beds in each bedroom , attached bathrooms and facing the valley below. the room was very clean, especially the bathrooms and the beds. the suite also had a balcony, a dining and sitting area with LED tv. so over all a good experience. The breakfast on the first morning was a selection from the menu, 2nd morning since the hotel was full it was a buffet with a decent spread. Dinner was OK, not too great. Room service was also Ok, had 3 kids travelling with us so when ever we asked for milk they were prompt.
CONS: single and extremely slow lift, since we stayed on 7th floor had to wait quite a bit everytime we needed to use it. The approach road to the hotel is in bad shape.

Hi Ritesh, As on April last week 1 BHK costed Approx. 2000 per night inclusive of tax and complimentary breakfast. Since your plan is for October, tariff might increase. If you contact hotel marketing people earlier (by september 1st week) you can grab a good deal by bargaining. As you are a Bangalorean, I want to suggest you not to opt for lunch or dinner plan in this hotel. It will be pathetic. Go for only Breakfast plan. Regards Suja
