The lantern stay resort at Meppadi, Wayanad was truly a break from the urban jungle and a rocky, adventurous jeep ride into the verdant jungles of Wayanad.
The resort is blessed with natural beauty all around. A stream which flows right through it provides for the background music of the place, as the water gushes and flows over the rocks and pebbles in the ravines present in the middle of the resort. Birds of all colors, shapes and sizes chirp, trill and tweet all through the day adding to the beautiful musical harmony.
The beauty, peace and quiet of the place is also enhanced by the lack of communication signal forcing the guests to connect with nature or one's own self or simply immerse oneself in a book.
On the flip side I would like to urge the management of the resort
1. to improve the housekeeping of the rooms
2. provide the stay at the current tariff inclusive of all meals, since it is impossible to get out of the resort during the stay.( Right now lunch is charged at Rs. 400 per pax and dinner Rs. 450 per pax, which is by normal standards quite a steep price )
3. Publish a generic menu card for.the guests to read in the dining area
4. Stick to meal timings as put up in the notice board in the rooms

Overall it was an enjoyable experience at the lantern stay, and like their tag line displayed at the entrance, truly a date with nature

One of the best resort I have visited till now. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Great staff who knew how to serve the customer. The room was well equipped and the service was excellent. The location of our room was absolutely perfect. . As soon as you come out of the resort, we just need to cross the road and there is a direct path leading to the stream. It felt like a private stream, very clean and clear water, a very good place to relax and chill. The scenery was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment. I must say the location of the resort is at best place of Rain forest. Excellent hospitality.

Its really awesome resort which i have visited till date. All staff behaviour was great and very helpful.

The location was interesting which was inside forest where we can hear only the sounds of water flow and crickets. The car parking is almost 4km far from resort, and from there they will arrange jeep for us to reach the resort, and the off road way to resort was really different experience.

The place was really calm and quite, food was superb and the ambience was awesome 👏🏻.

We were stayed in wooden cottage which was superb and giving privacy from one cottage to other by keeping distances. And the room was very neat and tidy.

One of the most interesting was natural climate. Its too cold there, but they were saying that was not a cool climate in there. However according to us its too heavy 🤪😊, sometimes i got shivered.

Anyway thanks to all Lantern Stay team for giving an memorable day in life. Hoping we will see again !!!❤️

I recently visited this place with family. I really loved the location, atmosphere, hospitality and food. It is truly in the midst of nature. The location was hosted up on a mountain with cottages, suite rooms and tent houses. The fresh air, lovely breeze and the sound of waterfall all throughout the day was something amazing. The journey to reach this place was very adventurous. The staff will meet you below the mountain and from thereon the Jeep drive begins. It is one of most unforgettable journey we experienced. My son was really excited to see the deep down valley and tall trees on both sides of the way. The meals were delicious. We also enjoyed Kerala spa. I would like to thank Santosh for suggesting this place. My wife and son enjoyed the complete stay. The staff is good and attentive all the time.

True to its name, Lantern Stay, a date with Nature.
One of the best places in Kerala I have visited with family.
Away from the concrete jungle, me and my family had a blast staying in the place.
The birds chirping, greenery, natural springs are some of the sights in the property.
Amazing and friendly staff who always wore a smile on their face welcoming and treating the guest.
Special mention to Vishnu, Robin , Ali and others.
Exceptional food by the chef who prepared authentic Kerala cuisine which was mouth watering.
Highly recommended place for all ages if you truly want to have a date with Nature, then Lantern Stay is the place.

We recently stayed at this property, and while the location is undeniably beautiful, with its close proximity to nature and stunning climate, we were thoroughly disappointed with several aspects of our stay.
Firstly, the toilet was dirty, you can't sit on the closet. The water purifier was out of order, which was a significant inconvenience, and the staff tried to hide this fact. When we asked them to refill the purified water, they were filling tap water directly into the purifier's purified water section, which is clearly cheating.
Additionally, the comforters were smelly, and when we requested fresh ones, we were told that it was difficult to dry the laundry which is really funny when you paid ~18k for your one day stay.
The room phone was not working, making it impossible to communicate with the reception without physically going there.
The staff, who were not at all friendly, added to our discomfort. One of my friends had a health issue, and the lack of hospitality in such a situation was particularly upsetting. Moreover, the food was subpar, which might be understandable, but when combined with all the other points, it made our trip quite horrible.
In summary, while the property and its surroundings are great for nature lovers, don't expect any basic comforts or cleanliness. Visit only if you're ready to enjoy nature without any basic amenities.

Great location coupled with fantastic customer service makes lanternstay an experience that we will cherish for a long time. David from the resort kept us engaged right from the previous day of check in including what is the best route to get to the resort and ensuring our check in process was seamless. In most of the holiday destinations in have been to, you don’t get to access anything before check in. David ensured that we had our lunch and then completed the check in. The staff are caring and catered to our needs. Keep it up lantern stay team

Lantern stay like the tag it says exactly offers you "a date with nature". We a group of 5 friends had an amazing experience. This well maintained clean place offers excellent ambience, privacy and peace of mind. Another thing to mention is the great hospitality provided by Alex their marketing head who guides us from start of trip till end and their every welcoming staffs at the resort vishnu, unnikuttan and robin. The food they serve is exceptionally tasty and the best I had in a trip so far. There is a stream passing through the resort which gives you a soothing ambience along with the music of birds. Also they have a game room with table tennis, carroms and outdoor badminton court. The trek in the morning is a worthy walk to a beautiful waterfall near-by. The place is equally ideal for a couples or friends group. They provide night campfire with a good speaker system and personalised barbecue on request .

I visited Lantern Stay with my husband and son for 2 days. The place is located in really high up on a mountain surrounded with dense and tall trees. Our cottage had a beautiful view of waterfall stream and we could hear the water flowing sound all day and night. The water sound and chirping of birds were really music to ears. In the evenings we enjoyed bonfire with food and drinks. The food was really good and the staff was courteous. I also enjoyed short massage in the spa. My son loved playing in the waterfall stream. Its lovely place to have fun. The ride to up on the mountain was most adventurous as the staff will meet yo at the bottom of the mountain and then the Jeep journey begins to go up on the topsy-turvey hill road. I would strongly recommend everyone to visit the beautiful place with family and friends. Thank you Santosh for suggesting the place.

Hi All, Is the stream visible from any rooms/balcony of any room? Thanks.

I don't think so. The stream is down in a steep gorge. You can hear it but you will need to walk about 50 odd metres to see it.
