We stayed here in Jan 2015 for 4 day. Awesome property with an amazing view. We were the only people there during our visit. The tents are very well maintained and bathrooms are extremely clean. The food is great, and there is a lot of variety. The host, Dr. Raju was nice and polite.

Most Memorable Moment: Early morning walk in the coffee plantation adjoining the resort. (In heavy morning mist.)

We stayed here in December 2014. The place is slightly tricky to find as it is situated away from the town in the midst of hills and forests. And that is what makes it an awesome place to stay. Technology came to our rescue but even if it doesn't the host, Mr Raju is accommodating enough to pick you up from the main town of Kalpetta.

It is a large well-maintained property here with tent houses, I guess six of them. The tents are clean and the people very friendly. Mr Raju is very friendly; personally attending to the needs of every guest. Every tent has a small verandah of its own where one can sit and talk well into the night. It was one hell of an experience listening to the sounds of the jungle at night. Slightly scary at times when you know there is nothing but a tent cloth between you and the forest. :D But then Mr Raju calmed us down saying that it was perfectly safe staying there.

The food served is simple, delicious and most importantly very light on the pocket. You could even ask the cooks to make dishes of your choice. We celebrated two birthdays along with Christmas. It is good if you have your own vehicle which would make commuting easy. Most of the places worth visiting in Waynnad are far off. It was a great stay. I would request only one small request to make Mr Raju. Please arrange for thicker blankets because in winters the nights get really chilly.

We stayed here between January 24th to 26th. Awesome property overlooking the valley. The tents are very well maintained and bathrooms are extremely clean. We stayed in the premium tent facing the valley. Before reaching the resort we were very apprehensive about staying in tents with two small children but after getting there we were totally satisfied. Lots of open space for kids to run around. The food was clean and tasty and they serve white rice. Extremely pleased with the service provided. The owner of the place Dr.Raju greets each customer with a smile and is very helpful . Overall we had a great time and the kids enjoyed holidaying here.

We were a family of three , me and my parents who stayed at the "Whispering woods". The accomadation was very adventurous, while we got to reside in fabric tents that are extremely well furnished with all the necessary services . The view from the tents was spellbinding. The bathrooms are worth a mention , extremely well maintained. The staff were very hospitable and took great care of even our smallest needs. The entire property has been done up very thoughtfully with little fish ponds and an ornamentally maintained landscape. An ultimate destination to soothe your senses and relax while nature and its lush greenery gives you company. The owner Mr. Raju greets every single guest that arrives at his property , which was a very sweet gesture . The food is worth a mention , the spread for dinner offered great variety and tasted wonderful . It gave us an opportunity to taste authentic native food at its best . Overall the entire experience and our stay was overwhelming and simply breathtaking.

a really nice rejunevating experience. .
The food at the resort was as homely as it could get with the staff always by our side for any help. Dr. Raju well he is an amazing host constantly ensuring we were comfortable enough during our stay & the best part of the whole stay was the early morning mist covered mountains overlooking our tents.
Just can say Thank you for the overwhelming hospitality of Dr Raju & Ranjith.

I visited Kerala in September 2015 and chose Whispering Woods for our stay. The beauty and simplicity of the resort blew us away. The entire resort has been designed with a Eco tourism in mind. The tents are made of sturdy canvas and the ceilings are high. The whole ambience is quaint and pretty awesome. The cottages all have modern amenities and there is no cost spared to make the traveler comfortable. What impressed me the most was the verdant gardens and the in house organic Vegetable garden. Right now there are a few cabbages and Cauliflowers. The Mirchi is all in house production. In future there are plans to plant Carrot and a few other veggies I believe.

The view from the cottages is simply breathtaking. If you come from the city you will definitely 'TASTE' the oxygen in the air as its super enriched with zero pollution. The route to Whispering Woods is not very well marked and you will find it a trite difficult to trace the resort. Its owner Dr. Raju is a wonderful gentleman and is always ready to go out of the way to help guests.

Coming to the food. The sambar and Dosa which we had on the day 1 was simply phenomenal. Dinner was Egg Curry and paratha.. both wholesome and tasty. I strongly recommend the good food here. You will not need to go outside for the food at all as the rates are pretty decent. Overall an excellent experience. I will definitely return to this resort.

An amazing place to relax with your family.. Completely out of the sound and pollution. We did a weekend trip and reached the destination from Bangalore in just 5 hours. Dr. Raju, the owner of the resort is very helpful. He guided us to the resort with the best road. If you are planning to go to Kalpetta from Bangalore follow this route . Bangalore - HD kotte - Bavali - Manathwady - Kalpetta. If you choose to opt the other routes, you may not have a good driving experience. The Gundalpet road is full of path holes and very tiring. The food is amazing there and I must have to give 10 out of 10. Its a buffet system and food prepared by them is very homely. We opted non veg and per person it was just 280Rs. You will get 2 non veg items (mostly chicken and fish) and hell lot of other sabji and curry. The staffs over there is very friendly and always ready to help you. Tea and coffee is served inside the tents. The tents are big enough for 3 people (2 adults and one child). They have a huge play area for children and lots of space for you to relax. Dr. Raju visits the property twice in a day and he personally check with all if anyone has faced and problem.

Overall its a good place to relax and a good weekend gateway to enjoy the nature.

Advice : Please carry your own snacks as there is no in house shops just incase if you want to have it with your tea or coffee.

We would love to visit the place again.

Dear Neel, We are glad that you had a good time. Thank you for the positive review and the chance to delight you on your vacation. We will internally discuss if we need to keep any snacks and whether a snack bar would be a good option for our guests. One of the prime considerations in keeping Whispering Woods as a Eco sensitive destination is to unite our guests with nature. We will keep striving for this goal. Warm Regards, Dr. Raju

After much researching and cross referencing reviews on the property we decided to book ourselves into Whispering woods. we were a group of 6 adults and a juvenile mob between ages 3 and 16!! our stay was for a period of 3 nights.

The first thing that hits you is the location, nestled snugly between tea plantations and the woods of kalpetta. The views are breath taking and you must watch the sunsets over the hills in the distance. while it isn't really close to much of wayanad's must-see places, It is fairly central to all of them. Kalpetta happens to be smack in the middle of wayand.

The property itself was beautiful. The whole 'tent' business gave it a very ominous and 'too close to wilderness' feel especially since we had kids in the group. but on closer inspection they were very sturdy and clean. The bathrooms? super clean and well kept . The property is fairly new and that probably also helped. Our beds were comfortable and ,keeping in mind we were in the middle of summer, the blankets were just right.

The housekeeping wasn't all that top notch considering we had to call for fresh towels every day. Not really an issue though. The entire property was well kept and lovingly tended to by the owner , Dr Raju and his staff of 4 who, by the way , took hospitality to a whole different level.

The good Dr would go out of his way to ensure we were comfortable and helped with our activity itinerary with thoughtful suggestions. The kids liked him as well .

A few words on his killer staff.. 2 gentleman and a lady, looked after us and had an almost fanatical obsession with ensuring our food was on time , piping hot and mouth watering!

My mum holds the gold standard on making rasam and chicken curry but the lady there almost sneaked past her!! the fried fish? outstanding!. We had a bunch of marwadis with us as well... finicky lot...who couldn't stop raving about the quality of food. vegetarians , of course!

I typically relish eating out where the locals do but Dr Raju and his staff didn't give me the opportunity:)

Got to do a whole lot of trekking at Chembra peak, Edakkal caves ,Banasura Dam. The kurva island can be missed though. i did miss out on pakshi patallam but thats for my next trip to wayanad later this year . No prizes for guessing where i'll be staying, Dr raju. see you in 6 months;)

GS for bookings you will have to contact Whispering Woods Management - Dr. Raju. Kalpetta is in Wayanad and is the capital of Wayanad. This resort is within 3.2 kms range of the Kalpetta Bus Stop. Trust that helps.
