We were fortunate that the tour guide we booked recommended the Clarendon to us. The hotel was perfect. Our room was huge, beautifully decorated in an airy white, just right for a tropical climate. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom large and stocked with very nice, natural products. The hotel is small and intimate, great for couples and also...

The first impression on arriving at The Clarendon is one of warmth and welcome. Emmy and the rest of the staff are amazing and you are immediately made to feel at home. Afternoon tea was a real treat and our room was lovely. Emmy offered to book dinner for us at a local restaurant and her recommendations were excellent. The...

Emmy and the straff are great! You feel genuinly welcome from the first minute. The breakfast is to die for.... We got a room at the street side. Can be both good and bad. We had thus no problem with the traffic notice. See if you can secure a room towards the lovely garden & pool area. The space is...

After a fabulous stay last year we knew that we wanted to return. We were greeted like old friends. Emmy and her staff were just as we remembered them; they were all so friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was just superb; I challenge anyone to find anything wrong with it. There is something for everyone's taste....

A fabulous small boutique hotel, with all the comforts, in a nice neighbourhood, with the friendliest staff possible! Emmy sets the tone, informal and unfailingly helpful, thereby ably assisted by Muvato and the other members of a great team. Breakfast is wonderful, especially if you are out on the terrace overlooking the manicured garden. We shall definitely stay there again...

From the moment Emmy welcomed us upon our arrival, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room had a balcony with a view over the candlelit pools and out to the sparkling ocean. Emmy's restaurant recommendations were followed, and we found them to be delicious. The included breakfasts offer a wide variety of tasty food. One evening after a busy day...

This was our first time in Cape Town and the last stop of our trip through South-Africa. The hotel looks great and has a beautiful garden with 2 pools. The staff was very friendly and gave that extra bit to make our stay unforgettable. Thumbs up! Minor detail is that our room was beneath the breakfast room and we could...

Firstly, having read the most recent review, I agree that our room was not complete and total perfection either - one could be really picky.....a bit of damp showing through in the bathroom and I coul also mention that the Internet could have been a little quicker (but guess that's out of the control of the hotel??) but this is...

We just spent 3 nights at this hotel, at the start of our week long adventure around the Cape. Whilst our room lacked some perfection, the service provided by Emmy and her team more than made up for this. Coming around at breakfast to help you plan your day, booking taxi's and the 3pm tea and cake is a great...

Two thumbs up for this excellent B&B both in atmosphere of the rooms and in staff friendliness and hospitality. We stayed here for five days as the last part of our round trip through South Africa. The hotel most certainly is one of the two best we have had. The family room we've had is spacious and luxurious. It is...
