If you are visiting the Beacon, you absolutely must visit this pub. The staff are extremely friendly and will go the extra mile; good traditional pub grub with a great range of beers (and cider). Never stayed but the landlord is focused on customer service so will undoubtedly create a warm welcome.

We used this as a base to both go on the Severn Valley Railway and to visit Gloucester Quays and surrounding area. Owners were friendly in this well presented countryside pub. It's situated at the end of a cul de sac so it 's quiet right? Well not exactly as the railway from which it takes it's name, is only...

Food a bit disappointing, Looked and tasted like bought in food, instead of home cooked, which was a shame as the couple that run the place are so pleasant, and trying so hard. We would have booked for one of their tribute evenings, but could not face the roast dinner which was on offer. A decent chef would make this...

If you have ever been for a meal here on any other day but Sunday I know why you might not want to go back but trust me the Sunday lunch is the absolute best around. My husband & I frequently eat out, especially on Sundays and have tried several places. We have eaten at The Beacon many times for...

We have just spent 2 nights at the Beacon, visiting friends for a birthday party. We were looked after so well, the room was lovely. The kids loved the bunk beds! All the food was great, especially the buffet for the party. This is just how a village pub should be, welcoming and friendly! Can't wait to stay again!

Came to this pub for a quick lunch during a busy day and were not disappointed. The food was piping hot and fresh with very generous portions and served promptly and efficiently by a very friendly and jolly waitress. Excellent value for money. The landlord took the time to talk to us and the whole lunch was just a very...

Steve and staff were excellent hosts. It was a quiet time, but our room was really comfy and had everything you need. The meal (me liver and bacon, my wife a wonderful fish pie) was great pub grub, with real mashed potatoes, and a brilliant bread and butter pudding! Breakfast was good, and the location - just 5 minutes from...
