‘Contemporary country house with the Cotswolds warmest welcome’ Set high on an escarpment overlooking the Severn Vale this 45 bedroom country house hotel lies between the Cathedral City of Gloucester and Regency Cheltenham. Hatton Court provides the right balance between traditional hotel service and all the benefits you would expect from a contemporary hotel. The Tara Restaurant is renowned locally. It is an ideal place from which to explore the Cotswolds. Hatton Court is a reassuring size; not large and impersonal, nor too small. As a former splendid Cotswold home the feeling is of being eminently comfortable as opposed to grand. Nothing is hurried. The reception is very much a lounge, with leather sofas, magazines and an open fireplace for those chillier days. Next door the bar is more a place to relax, take tea, read and talk than to rush. The care taken to prepare the food, combined with a smiling service, is complemented by the thought that has gone into creating the Tara Restaurant. Fully refurbished in late 2009 the natural colours and soft lighting make a relaxing environment for friends and relations to enjoy each other’s company. Private dining facilities are available in the equally well appointed Cotswold Room. The peace of the surrounding countryside and comfortable bedrooms, some with whirlpool baths, make for a good night’s sleep ready for another day exploring the Cotswolds.

We arrived at Hatton on a beautiful summers day, immediately welcomed by the reception team! Who made us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble (especially as I like to change my mind) our stay was incredible! The service was second to none! All staff were friendly and attentive, a true asset to the hotel. I certainly hope their hard work is appreciated. Food was extremely good with a wide range of foods served through-out the day. Room was tidy and well appointed with the addition of a large spa bath! Beautiful country views for miles. I wish to make a special mention of Lauren the receptionist (I do hope that’s correct) who really stood out for us. But all staff were incredible. We will most certainly be returning in the near future. Best Johno & Phil

Stayed here for 3 nights with my boyfriend and his dad. Arrived and was amazed by the beauty of the hotel 😊 Receptionist was helpful and friendly. Very clean lobby and bedroom was a good size, and had a beautiful view outside our window. The fan in the room was a god send 🙌 food was soo tasty and arrived quite quickly. Would definitely stay here again 😍

Friendly, attentive staff who made us all feel relaxed and so welcome. Pretty setting, very clean. Comfy bed, room had a fridge and fan which was handy in this heatwave. Jacuzzi bath was an unexpected bonus! Great range of gins behind the bar. Food was tasty and fresh. Strawberries and cream cheesecake was absolutely delicious!! Very welcoming of dogs. Would happily return.

Arrived for our mid Week break with our grandson having booked 2 rooms, when we got there ordered sandwiches and chips which were all very nice. Got into our room just after 2pm, we were on the first and second floor, the hotel would not be good for everyone, as no lift and stairs to climb, rooms were cleaned everything you required, as others have said the bathrooms need updating, and not very well equipped for anyone of the older generation for getting in or out of bath. With the covid situation you did not get your room cleaned and had to ask for towels or milk, coffee etc. Breakfast and dinner were ok, have to watch them supplements, we paid up front for B&B + D when we booked. Only thing I did not like was the soup, I would have thought they could have changed each night, but that was my preference, all staff were pleasant. Outlook was lovely and pleasant to sit out and have a drink at night, only waiter service because of covid. Overall enjoyed our stay.
