Booked brunch for my Mum's birthday and Vicky was great with regards to booking and making pre order changes when I needed to. Pre ordered a balloon and it was in the pod waiting. Clean and lovely space to have a nice family brunch seperate to anyone else. Food was lovely and Rachel who served us was great, nothing was too much trouble, tea and coffee topped up regularly. Would recommend.

Booked this as a short break and happened to coincide with the first week after "Freedom Day". Was very concerned that the majority of staff were not wearing masks, the breakfast buffet was back and there was a general approach of "laissez faire" even though it was necessary to book times for dinner and breakfast. Appreciate mask wearing is now optional but other restaurants etc in the area were all still being suitably cautious. Also worth noting 1) the age of the building as a result of which there is no air conditioning - was unfortunate that we were there on a particularly hot week; 2) the privelege package benefit is questionable - no mini-bar so free soft drinks limited to a Nespresso machine and a couple of bottles of water!; 3) general state of disrepair - spiders' webs on windows and a layer of grime - all very dusty so not appealing when you need to open windows for ventilation. Restaurant very average for a hotel purporting to be a 4 star! In retrospect should have gone to the alternative of the MGallery in Cheltenham Staff doing their best to cope and very friendly - especially the receptionist - but not enough!

A beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting. Very quirky interior design. Very disappointing restaurant. Somehow their heart wasn't in it. Not bad value, but I felt it could be a bit more special. the food was all right - just not very imaginative. The waiting staff were helpful but untrained - they didn't know about clearing the table of excess cutlery and crockery, or how to serve wine. Not their fault, I know.

Only a one night stay this trip.Visited about 8 hotels in the last few weeks and this was the best of the lot. Great position and wonderful helpful staff. Had a lovely first floor garden view room. Breakfast was excellent although at the time the lanes for getting buffet items seemed a bit over the top. Hopefully now gone.

In todays climate with Covid there must be some slack cut when it comes to expectations. I had to rebook my b50th Wedding Anniversary at short notice due to a trip abroad being cancelled. I therefore booked a room at the hotel, and also a od in the grounds so our immediate family could join us to celebrate our Golden day. A wedding and other events were also on at the time, so you need to be patient. It is a virtue. Be nice and people respond. Our room had been decorated in advance which made my wife cry. A good sign she was happy. The Pod was excellent and Vicky in the Events Team had collaborated with my daughter to make the Pod a real special place to celebrate. The service we had from Jenny are allocated waitress was first class. No one was in a rush. Good things come to them that wait. Even when we checked out Sol on reception was attention and came and sat down to run through our invoice. Just a brilliant time and thanks to all concerned. I cannot share all the images but here's a few. Try the Pod for any event but have the patience to arrange it and treat staff properly.
