We ate here in Friday night, a last minute decision. The staff found us a table quickly, the new menu is excellent and the specials all looked great. Food was served quickly and tasted wonderful. We'll certainly be going back again.

I have visited The Farmer's Boy Inn a number of times with my most recent visit being in March of this year. There are many reasons why I keep returning but the main one being the quality of food served is out of this world. There is something to suit everyone. I highly recommend trying the pies though! You will...

Booked last minute weekend away at the farmers boy inn we were greeted by Darren on arrival who advises of times for breakfast etc and booked our evening meal . The food was superb we even asked for the chef "Richard" to pop out so we could thank him. It was a busy Saturday night but you could see why...

I stayed 3 nights in March with my family, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was spotlessly clean, with a big huge cosy bed. Facilities for tea and coffee are provided, with the biscuits changed every day! The shower was lovely and hot too. We ate each night at the Farmers, as the food was so good we...

I booked a table for my husbands 40th birthday for tonight at 7pm. We arrived at 6:55pm and was shown to our table by Darren - who appeared stressed. A few minutes later Ollie C came to take our drinks order - he did not know what beers they had - even though the brewery is in throwing distance from...

My husband and I had a 3 night break over Easter at the Farmers Boy Inn..chosen primarily as a base to explore the Forest of Dean. The location is perfect for this and despite being on the A40, the property is located in a peaceful, lovely rural setting. Accommodation is in an annex at the back of the hotel -...

Roast beef dinner today, Usually a great meal, today was abit average, nothing seemed to be seasoned, the vegetable selection was too basic, expected abit better from previous visits. Would still come back, but maybe not for a roast dinner.

A perfect place to stay to explore the localities of Gloucester, Welsh borders and the Cotswolds. The rooms are all similar and are comfortable with shower & hot drink facilities. Very good breakfast and we took advantage of evening meal at the pub which was very pleasant - the pie was to a high standard as described. Friendly, helpful staff,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Simply put, we love food. Not just for what it is, but for the experience that accompanies it. Homely surroundings, great company and conversation, attentive waiters, who become friends and of course fine wines from around the world. After a evening of gastro food delights, gourmet pies and laughter infront of the open fire retire to our courtyard of boutique individually designed rooms and drift off, to wake up to the sounds, sights and smells of the idyllic gloucestershire countryside. Followed of course by a hearty breakfast and maybe a stroll up the majestic May Hill ... more   less
