I've visited The Farmers Boy inn before and had a lovely time. However this weekend we went for afternoon tea and was very disappointed. There was few of us and the table for not big enough for us even though there was no one else in the room. Also the sandwiches supplied were ham or salmon- no vegetarian options or...

Bedrooms set in a courtyard setting of 8 rooms - adjoining walls are flimsy so therefore a bit noisy, rooms were basic but adequate set in a very relaxed setting. All the staff we encountered were very friendly, polite and welcoming. The Steak 'n Guinness pies were absolutely wonderful not to mention their burgers. A great place to eat out...

Very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast (tasty!). It was only an overnight after a session at the Hillside Brewery, but it did the job! Although it was short, a good experience and a lovely location. I'm sure that I read online that it was a quarter of a mile from the Brewery, it was further! Perhaps the contact us...

We had a lovely weekend away and were made to feel very welcome by all the staff. We took our 2 miniature labradoodles with us as we had booked a room where dogs were able to stay. They were made very welcome too. We had booked a table for our first night and the food was delicious so we chose...

We were given a voucher as a gift and out of a choice of a dozen or more venues in the Uk chose this one . mainly for the location and TA reviews of the Inn accommodation and restaurant food . I have no idea of the value of the gift '2 nights and afternoon tea' so hard to comment...

Fantastic special deal short break with friends. Lovely old pub and very friendly and helpful staff especially Darren who helped make our break so enjoyable. The rooms in the courtyard were small but clean and tidy with comfy bed, lot's of tea coffee etc., and fresh towel each day. The pies in the bar were really good. Only small moan...

Stayed for two nights and the only reason for giving it only 4/5 is the rooms were so small!! But when it comes to customer service they were superb, I can't fault them. A special thanks to both Darren and Luke who looked after us both so well. My wife and I would normally try a different restaurant if we...

I orderd the most expensive dish on the menu - steak rossini at £26 which was chewy and had fat in the middle and accompanied by a tiny amount of vegetables. When I told the waiter at the end of our lunch he just smiled and apologised. Waiter had no idea what a Caffè macchiato was as he served me...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Simply put, we love food. Not just for what it is, but for the experience that accompanies it. Homely surroundings, great company and conversation, attentive waiters, who become friends and of course fine wines from around the world. After a evening of gastro food delights, gourmet pies and laughter infront of the open fire retire to our courtyard of boutique individually designed rooms and drift off, to wake up to the sounds, sights and smells of the idyllic gloucestershire countryside. Followed of course by a hearty breakfast and maybe a stroll up the majestic May Hill ... more   less
