Poor quality cheap nasty badly cooked fish, undrinkably bad wine - and I drink almost anything. This made the 1 euro per litre stuff from supermarkets seem great) Been to San Jose a few times - this is by far the worst food here.

We stayed at the Hotel Atalaya for four nights with friends in May 2013. Both of the rooms were dull and the bathrooms had a permanent smell of open sewers, the stink wasn't helped by the non- functioning extractor fans.
