This is now my second time staying at Chalet Pyrene with the same skiing group of 5. Michel and Marylou are the best hosts. This place is excellently located and comfortable. The bathrooms are clean and modern but don’t expect a modern room- however this is part of the charm of the place and I wouldn’t change it! Thank you for the hospitality and I will see you next year!

Thank you Jason for your very nice comment ! we were very happy to have you and your group of friends staying with us....and it will be with great pleasure that we would welcome you again if you choose to stay with us next winter ! Sorry for the lack of modernity in our rooms !....we will ask an expert what we can do to improve that aspect of the rooms....Just one question : were you upstairs or downstairs ? also, did you enjoy the jacuzzi ?... With our warmest regards, Michel & Marylou

We did not get to meet Michel whom I had been communicating with for months regarding our reservation, but Mary Lou was the most charming hostess who took wonderful care of our group when we stayed in Argentiere last month on our TMB trek. She was just so fabulous, made us a lovely breakfast, had nice chats and was helpful with things on every level. Would absolutely stay here again. Only thing to note is the inn is a little bit outside of town, something to be aware of since the hiking days on the trek can really leave you pooped (and not wanting more walking) At any rate, this little inn and it's owner were just perfect. Thanks Mary Lou!!

Michel and Mary Lou are just the most charming hosts! My mom and I really enjoyed our stay there. They are really close to everything that's exciting and you have beautiful views of the mountains from your room! Michel drove us to a restaurant one night, which was nice enough, but when we got lost walking home in the dark, we called them, and Mary Lou happily walked up, found us, and walked us home!! They speak English fluently which was nice, and we enjoyed chit chatting at breakfast. They always had great ideas of what to do, how to get there, where to buy the tickets, etc. It was really helpful. The best part was, you feel like you're staying with old friends. I will be back....just to see them, if nothing else.

We stayed at Chalet Pyrene two nights during our European summer adventure 2016, and felt so welcome and comfortable here, we cannot wait to return! The owners greeted us immediately upon arrival and gave us a tour of the chalet. They are very kind and extremely knowledgeable about the area and outdoor adventures here (ski, run, bike, hike, paraglide, and many more), and went out of their way to describe the town to us (in English and French), recommend sites to see and places to dine (even helped us with dinner reservations), and make sure we enjoyed our stay. As out-of-towners, we appreciated this very much, and it was the highlight of the trip to get to know the owners. One of the best things about Chalet Pyrene is the breakfast, which was substantial in our opinion, including fresh baguette, cheese, coffees, cured meats, yogurt, croissants, juice, cereals, and other additions. The breakfast kept us full well into the afternoon! We enjoyed the ambience of the dining area, and the overall solid construction and serene atmosphere of the chalet. The room was very clean (cleaned daily) and had full modern amenities, good lighting, and plenty of room for our multiple check-thru airline bags, plenty of drawer and counter space to store clothing, and a pleasant outdoor patio that led to the backyard and garden. We enjoyed the ample bathroom and sink space, with plenty of room to spread out toiletries for the two of us. The granite floored and walled shower was spacious and non-slip. Beds were comfortable, with multiple pillows and warm bedding if you happen to stay during the winter months. We loved our mountain chalet room! Overall, the chalet is very quiet as it is nestled among trees off the road. Wifi quality was excellent. Parking is just outside the front door. We felt safe at all times, with a lock and key for the room as well as a lock to enter the chalet. The views of the mountains are ideal here, as it helped us gauge the weather for our paragliding jump off Aiguille du Midi later in the day. To us, we can't imagine a better place to stay when we visit Chamonix & Argentiere in the future! We miss our home away from home already. Thank you!
