The hotel is only a short drive away from the airport which was very welcome after an 11 hour flight and 1 hour getting through baggage reclaim and immigration. The hotel itself has been beautifully designed, very reminiscent of the Gaudi buildings in Barcelona. Our room was

Highly recommend staying at Finca Rosa Blanca, the architecture and decor of the accommodation are beautifully unique. Great service and good food in the restaurant. FRB is a very tranquil place set amongst a forest, yet so close to San Jose. We stayed for 2 nights in the room

Dear LauraMaeD; Thank you for the nice comments! You mentioned all the things that we are always striving to do and to improve. Of course, our small hotel is not just about service and quality it is also about a sense of place, about art and architecture and the quality of the experiences in the restaurant. Having fresh food which is produced locally and organic when possible (if the quality is there) are factors that drive our "farm to fork" idea. Right now we are working with our friend and colleague, the famous Costa Rican Chef, José Pablo Gonzalez (owner of the amazing Al Merkat restaurant) to find new ways of using all of our abundant foods found on our organic farm and making sure it is of the highest quality, fresh and local and of course, DELICIOUS: whether it is a freshly caught Tuna steak, plantain ceviche, freshly sliced chip platter (with plantain, yuca, potato and camote chips all grown on our farm). And speaking of our coffee and tour, we also offer a "Coffe Connoisseur's Menu" for dishes prepared using our organic coffee. Thanks again for the nice review and we hope to see you here next time with new surprises and we'll take you on more of our activities for you to try.

Nicely located above San Jose. Use Manelo as guide to volcano. And Ulysses as cSuper. But took forever to get meals Ain restaurant. And strong smell of insecticide outside our door the first day. Good food but service not at all good. Rooms well appointed and nice pool. But

Dear Cynmanj; Thank you for such a nice review and for your generous comments about Finca Rosa Blanca. I am very glad you had the chance to peek into some of your friends' rooms to see that every single one is unique and for us, a piece of art. We built the main house of the hotel with the idea that every room would have its own personality and artwork based on where it was located, the kinds of views and wildlife that one could see and to give each room a sense of a personalized and cozy place to enjoy. I will relay your message about the food to the staff at the restaurant who really take pride in using ingredients from our farm and greenhouse and trying to use local Costa Rican foods presented and cooked with an innovative yet simple style. We hope to see you again and you can try one of the rooms you saw on your tour of the hotel.

Hola NJgrogan; Thank you so much for writing about your stay with us. We are very happy to read that you went on some of the myriad tours we offer from our plantation are very close by- as you now know we are surrounded by 3 major volcanoes and the hiking and exploration is wonderful and breathtakingly beautiful. At the end of the day after touring the cloud forest, doing the coffee tour and cupping, a Central market cultural immersion or ziplining among other things, it is always great to come back to the farm and relax in our chemical free pool or take a Hot Tob Jacuzzi and then off tot he outdoor terrace restaurant for some food and beverages. Of course, as you mentioned- and thank you for that- you really need to stay at least 2 or 3 nights to even dent the activities, tours and coffee experiences here. Again, thanks for writing in about your stay!

Hola 9Wattsy10 We have all kinds of visitors to Finca Rosa Blanca, including single women, single men, couples, families, business people and adventure travellers. I am sure we can accommodate your every need and you will meet interesting people who are drawn to a place like our small hotel/coffee plantation. It is very tranquil and visually beautiful here (we consider our resort a work of art), but we offer a lot of different tours when one wants to get out a bit: cultural tours, culinary& chocolate tours, hiking in the cloud forest, volcanoes and so much more. And our chef, Gustavo \Alvarado is really amazing and uses all of our greenhouse "farm to fork" idea of slow food, with lots of creative dishes using Costa Rican ingredients. Please check out our web page and you can read in more detail about who we are- a family owned (3 generations) experience. Saludos Glenn- Owner

Is there air conditioning in the rooms?
Hola- We do not have air conditioning, it unnecessary as we are in a very temperate climate; 80 degrees during the days and very cool at night. We are located at 4000 feet above sea level and the climate in our area has been named by National Geographic as the best in the world. If you are in the sun, for example at the pool, it can v=be quite warm and great for tanning, but in the shade there are cool breezes and it is extremely nice and comfortable weather. In the evenings in the restaurant we have a fireplace for the coolest nights. I hope wee see you here soon!
