Lovely old building in the center of Thornhill and a good stopping off point when heading further north/south. It has been nicely refurbished and modernised with comfortable nicely decorated rooms and great bathrooms. A small but excellent choice of food that was very well prepared. Service was friendly but a bit hit and miss and the staff in the restaurant...

My wife & I stayed here for two nights in the middle of a two week motorcycle tour of Scotland, Northern England and Wales at the end of July 2016. Our room was on the top floor of the three storey hotel and there was no lift so, for those of you not so nimble make sure you're not up...

We have been many times to the BQA as our local hotel. On this occasion we went for my mum's 83 birthday meal (on 20 July). We ordered beef wellington for 2 plus 2 different mains, and as I thought it might take a while to cook also ordered some snacks as a starter. We ate our snacks and waited......

I had a wonderful time staying here not long ago - the staff were lovely and the food was absolutely excellent! It is worthwhile going to the restaurant even if you're just passing through and can't stay in the hotel. We will definitely be back soon.

We stayed overnight here on our return to Inverness after holidaying in Hereford. We stayed in one of the courtyard rooms which enabled parking right outside. We had our two dogs with us and their beds and treat package were a great touch ! We had a cocktail , dinner, + B&B deal, which were superb value and quality. Service...

Gorgeous rooms (we stayed in "Dalkeith") and decor, clean. Bathroom large with a huge bath and excellent shower with good pressure. Window rattled for most of the night, we only realised in the morning that it was the window and not someone constantly pulling a wheelie bin! The windows are original and the rattle cant really be helped. There was...

Just visited this hotel for lunch for first and last time. Service was extremely slow. I ordered a goats' cheese and red onion tart. This was simply a pastry case filled with cooked red onion with a couple of small slices of cheese on top. The whole thing was approximately the size of a strawberry tart and was accompanied by...

What a lovely little hotel. Our room was spacious and had been refurbished. The food in the restaurant was reasonably priced and excellent quality. Between 4.30 and 6.30pm they do a main course and drink for £7.50, which is superb value. All staff were really nice, polite, friendly and helpful, especially Lauren and Emma.
