My wife and I have just returned from visiting France. We travelled to Amiens where we met up with Dianne and Vic who were our tour guides for a 3 day WW1 Somme battlefield tour. I cannot recommend Les Alouettes highly enough. Dianne and Vic were not only able to show us an Australian perspective of WW1 but of all...

Myself and a WW1 enthusiast friend are regular guests at Les Alouettes & have visited annually (sometimes twice annually) since 2008.The welcome is always a warm one from Vic & Diane (both knowledgeable qualified battlefield guides). Comfy, cosy spotless accommodation, wonderful breakfasts, picnics provided if required (I would recommend them!), research requests not a problem & located in a perfect place...

What a trip. I have always wanted to visit the area and right from the first e mail I sent to Vic and Diane I knew I was in good hands. Both are wonderful hosts and very very knowledgeable. 3000 books on world war 1 in house and Vic has 3 written himself. Their price for tour of 110 per...

Myself and a friend booked for four nights B&B accommodation to coincide with centenary events and Remembrance Day on The Somme. We were greeted with a much needed cuppa and biscuits on arrival, made to feel welcome and Vic and Diane ensured we were informed about the local area and best options for places to visit. The owners Vic and...

Our stay with Dianne and Vic was a memorable part of our European holiday. They were wonderful hosts and guides. We saw many deeply moving sites including the grave of a relative. The accommodation is stylish, comfortable and relaxing. Thankyou both for your hospitality, expert knowledge and help with trains.

Having just returned from a weekend on the Somme and our third trip to Les Alouettes we can only marvel at the warm welcome and the great hospitality that we received from Diane and Vic. As there were four of us we were able to have the newly built house adjoining the original bed and breakfast to ourselves which not...

Diane provided more than we could have imagined with our tours of the battlefields. Being able to stay meant we learn't all the time we were there. We didn't have a car but she was happy to get us to Peronne and Albert for dinners recommending lovely places to eat. Also arranged for us to get to Haute Picardie station...

We stayed four nights in Diane and Vics gorgeous little gite "Fairbanks". We had a wonderful time. Diane and Vic are gracious hosts. So cosy with the wood pellet fire. It is situated in a quiet little village which is in close proximity to the battlefields. It is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Diane and Vic will cater a tour...

Ideally located for WW1 enthusiasts. The owners Diane & Vic are qualified tour guides and tailor visits to your needs re visiting relatives graves etc should you require. Whether you...

Spent Six nights at this lovely spot in the Fairbanks self catering unit. Excellent value for money. Diane was a great hostess and I am sure Victor would have been a great host but he was out leading tour groups. This is an ideal place to stay for people wishing to do the WW1 Somme battlefields.
