My schedule shows me a trip to Montenegro in mid July.
Tivat as the place to spend the night, inbound on Montenegro Airlines ex Belgrad and flying out the next day again on Montenegro Airlines for Copenhagen.
That means an accomodation not that far from the airport is necessary.
No public transport at all with Tivat airport. By taxi or maybe mail the hotel and ask for other ideas.
A quick responce and the offer to pick me up was in the box.
Well done, a good first impression and also for free.
Despite my flight running late the pick up service works perfectly by the hotels owner himself.
Done a good chat on the way and know much more about living in Montenegro actually.
Not more than a minute at check in and as requested a room on the top floor was prepared for me.
Spacious, well designed, clean and with a nice seaside view.
Climatization works well, also with 36 degrees along the day, sure a calm night for me.
The hotel is located some 30 meters from the shore and offers a free beach area for the guests.
Not that long to walk along the promenade for Porto Montenegro, the new built yacht harbour
and further downtown Tivat with lots of restaurants and also bars to spend the late afternoon/evening like me.
A short night later I´am ready for breakfast as soon as it´s available from 7.00 am.
Everything what I need in the morning on offer.
Also no time to wait for check out, the again free shuttle driver waited for me and ready for the next flight.
B&B 53.00 Euro´s, sure a really good price earnings ratio here.
What about the downsides?.
Not that much to find. Something to improve is the wifi connection not working in the hotel rooms but nevertheless a good signal around the reception desk.

My husband and I stayed three nights at the San. The small, family run hotel is perfect for touring the riviera. Perast, Budva, Stevi Stefan, Kotor are a short drive away. We also visited the stunning Njegos Mausoleum, well worth the long drive. The hotel is not a resort and of course, does not offer those ammenities. There is a small, pebbled beach, at the end of the street, which always looked very pretty.

The staff are all very amiable and always willing to help. They helped make our stay an enjoyable one. We booked a room with balcony, facing the bay. Our small balcony was great for sitting an enjoying a glass of wine before sunset. Please understand that the views of the bay are limited. We were lucky with our room on the second floor. Comfortable, clean and with very good a/c. Small but adequate bathroom with a shower.

The breakfast on our first morning, was a la carte and excellent. The next two mornings, the hotel had more guests and they provided a buffet, which was also very adequate. They did not provide fresh fruit, as the first morning but when I asked, they immediately provided a bowl with plenty of fresh strawberries, kiwis and bananas. We also had dinner at their restaurant, twice, and it was very good. They had two set menus, a meat and a fish one. It included, soup, salad and an entree. Excellent value for money and in a very nice environment.

The hotel is walking distance to Porto Montenegro, with its beautiful marina, trendy shops, restaurants and mini markets. There are also several cafes, restaurants, and mini markets close to the hotel. We had dinner at the Big Ben Restaurant, which had a nice rooftop terrace with views of the water, tasty pizza and delicious pasta.

The San is recommended for touring this beautiful Montenegro Riviera.

The hotel is in Seljanovo, a part of Tivat, beside Portomontenegro, just 5 minutes walking.
The hotel San has just 19 rooms and is quiet, perfect for relaxing and sleeping. The hotel is just 20 meters in front of the sea, there are a small and nice pebble beach and a fantastic view of part of Kotor bay.
The room is modern and clean. The bathroom works right and very clean, maybe some small.
The staff is very friendly. The breakfast was served on table, fantastic service and very taste food. For dinner it can do at the restaurant who has typical menu and no expensive prices.
In the area at the seaside street there are a bakery (pekara) with fantastic regional sweets and pastries.

We arrived in Tivat expecting to stay a day and stayed 6 The hotel and staff are very helpful all you have to do is ask.Breakfasts plentiful. The hotel also has a great restaurant which serves great seafood at reasonable rates. There is a pebble beach which is 30 seconds away with free beds and umbrellas. Porto Montenegro is a lovely 10 minute walk to see more super yachts than you will ever see as well as shopping and restaurants. Tivat is well worth a visit with Kotar a $3 local bus ride away for day trips. A great place to stop before Dubrovnik which is a $15 bus ride away. This place is very reasonable in every way. Get a balcony facing the water and you will get a small view of the water which is great. Good sized rooms with everything you need. Reccomended

We were there in July 2013 for two days. Very good value for the price paid (both the rooms and the meals). Very nice people! Nothing is too much to ask. Close to the Porto Montenegro and the Old Town of Tivat.

The meals were really local dishes of a very good quality.

International television.

Finding the hotel was the most negative part of finding the hotel stay because there were signs on the main road saying 500m, 200m but when you travel that 200m the hotel isn't there so be aware that they do mean 200m but they mean head towards the seafront first and the hotel is right there on the sea front.

There is private parking with the hotel (you have to go around the back to park - there were no signs to indicate where to go but the staff directly you straight there) and they are the only negatives about this hotel.

The positives are as follows: Great hotel, Great hotel staff (all spoken excellent English), right on the beach, very modern and clean, sun loungers and umbrellas available for hotel users on the beach, breakfast was delicious, sea views available otherwise views to the mountains (with balcony) and reasonably priced.

My friend and I chose Tivat to enjoy the sunshine away from all the great majority of holiday makers and it was ideal. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel San is a little way out of town, on the other side of the marina to Tivat, but it's not too far to walk through the Porto Montenegro into town – and of course you pass all the stylish shops in the marina development on the way. The hotel is down a little lane off the street that runs along the beachfront, so you need to look out for the sign. The hotel itself is modern and stylish, and we ate well at the restaurant.

Now, I am bit spoiled when it comes to the hotels, therefore I ranked this hotel as average. But it has its good sides: within walking distance to Porto Montenegro. Quiet. Rooms are spacious and furnished OK.
Bad sides: weird parking - you'll never find it yourself, no sea view, no elevator, private beach? - well...I wouldn't call it that way....

But altogether, for a price you pay - it is not a bad choice.
