Nice hotel, clean with modern bathroom. Plenty of hot water and the restaurant on site was a nice bonus. Food was good. Location of hotel is perfect for exploring the peninsula. The little black church is just a few minutes away as well as the trail to the cliff walk. Overall, it was one of our better stays in Iceland.

We were worried when we read previous review but it was needless! The reception is in the Arnarstapi Center and restaurant. Very welcoming and nice, attentive staff. The setting is why you are hear! Hiking trails, beautiful beach, magnificent cliffs and tons of sea birds. Our room faced the ocean, and grasses with birds all around. We ate at the restaurant and our fish and chips were very good. It does close at 9 pm. Room is warm as was every other place we stayed. I opened the door and window and got a good breeze, cooled down at night.

Stayed here in June for 1 night for $200. Hotel is fine if you just really want to stay in Arnarstapi but the town is tiny and this is more of a mountain town motel - no closet, no blackout shades, no desk or table, tons of flies if you open the one window to get some cooler air (there were a bunch in our room when we first arrived that we had to kill). We had room 102 and window faced the parking lot, we had a microwave and small fridge, a water kettle, and one luggage stand. Room is roomy and clean but not sure why it completely lacks normal things like a desk or bedside tables and lamps or a closet when there is definitely room for those. Also shower doesn’t drain well and it almost overflowed after 2 minutes. Walking distance to Gatklettur which was why we stayed here but reception is at the restaurant bar and closes at 10pm so I couldn’t ask about the shower drain. The restaurant looked really cute though and closed at 9pm when we were there. This was our most expensive hotel in Iceland and least favorite. Will stay in olafsvik next time where there are lots of hotel options and more restaurants and closer to Kirkjufell.

Went on a hike on the glacier and wanted to have dinner before with a friend. We both ordered a Pizza and had to wait for a very long time because they only have one oven! We were not told beforehand that a pizza order would take such a long time! My friend had her pizza first and her pizza was cheaply filled with the ingredients. Mine was a lobster pizza and when it came - finally - they had the balls to offer me a pizza with shrimps! When I complained they sad ... we are out of lobster! I cancelled my order and went opposite the street and had an Icelandic traditional meat soup and then went on the hike. Big disappointment and poorly run restaurant.

Location could hardly be bettered. (But get a room on the sea, not the mountain side if possible). Rooms are in modern style chalets, large and with Picture window. Smart bathroom with walk in shower, but as this is not a geo thermal area, the sign says the hot tank will last about 20 mins. The restaurant serves local cuisine especially delicious lamb, and pizzas. Fine walks to amazing cliff formations with nesting birds everywhere. Both on the cliffs and in the grass. Little harbour is the source of the fish. Walk up to peak of nearby mt. Strapafell is more challenging. Also go to the extraordinary twin stacks of Thufabjarg, and the new visitor centre near the Malariff lighthouse. We stayed two nights and still had more to explore.
