This was a top notch hotel. Everything about the experience was relaxing and worth the trip! Arrival was easy. The concierge arranged a car service for us at the airport and we found them with no problem. Its about a 35 min drive from CUN airport and the car was comfortable. Check in was fast and the ride to the room was informative about the resort.
The room we chose was a Jungle pool villa. It was secluded yet close to the pool and restaurants. Loved everything about the food and beverage choices. Room service was fast and accurate. We participated in several of the activities they offer at the resort and each was fun and enjoyable.
Our favorite experience was the Temezcal Experience. It was absolutely amazing and life changing. The shaman was so peaceful and with nature. We felt immersed in the event and cleansed when it was complete. I definitely recommend this for anyone looking to refresh your mind and get rid of things weighing on you.
It is a remote location so having things to keep active on the property was an added plus. We didn't feel bored at any time and yet we also sat by the water and read for hours.
The rooms are spacious and the bath is one of a kind. it has a large dressing area, two water closets, an indoor shower and an outdoor shower (private). The bed was so luxurious with sheets and bedding made for a good nights sleep. The black out shades made the room quiet and perfect for rest. They have robes and slippers, a mini fridge and a coffee maker.
All in all, this is a great place to visit with friends, companion or group event.

We have stayed in many resorts throughout Quintana Roo and Chable Maroma is certainly one of the very best! The staff, of course, is phenomenal and treats you like family in this 70 room resort.

The food is excellent and reasonably priced (breakfast is included and instead of a personality free buffet you can order a la carte from the menu of fresh breakfast foods, delicious fruit plates, many egg dishes, oatmeal, healthy options, and traditional dishes with perfect coffee and fresh squeezed juices).

The rooms are gracious in size, well appointed, all with personal pools and most with outdoor showers, and we’ll working wifi plus many places to sit and relax other than the bed which is very comfortable.

The beach is excellent and while far from some rooms (as with most resorts here), very wide with great service, hammocks and palapa, an excellent amount of calm sea to swim in, and activities nearby. There are no nearby adjoining resorts so the beach is very exclusive.

Fernanda, Quintan, Simon the waiter, and Cynthia in the shop are awesome!!

Chablé Maroma exceeded our expectation on every level. The resort itself was absolutely breathtaking, and maintained to perfection. Our accommodations were exceptional, with a private pool and outdoor shower. The pool and beaches were perfectly maintained and there was never a problem with availability of chairs. The staff was super vigilant about placing towels on everyone's lounger and catering to all food/drink needs. They even brought bottled water without request.

The meals were perfection. The resort offered various special meals in additional to their restaurants. Everything we ate was exceptional, especially Bu'ul's tasting/pairing menu. Micheal, the sommelier, recommended perfect pairings, many of which were Mexican wines that we were not familiar with. Hector, one of the amazing staff at Bu'ul, even has a Mezcal pairing that we're excited to try with our next visit. Jerry at the Raw bar is a master of craft cocktails and shares his secrets at his cocktail class, be sure to make time for this! Every day we enjoyed breakfast at Kaban with the most lovely staff, a wonderful start to each day in paradise.

We enjoyed a 90 minute Holistic Massage at the spa. Yes it was pricey, but easily the best massage I've ever had. Many of the spa amenities are complimentary and I would definitely take advantage. The steam room is exceptional, then a dip in the cool pool is blissful.

This was by far the most we've ever paid for a vacation, though it was worth every cent. We had the most perfect, restorative, relaxing week. I would highly recommend and we'll most definitely return.

I will start with saying that there are many wonderful staff members at this resort. The location is in the middle of the jungle so if you’re looking for absolute privacy (and wilderness) you can find it here.

The problem is that there is an overall lack of hospitality training and management. Customer service was nonexistent especially among the staff that I assumed were management but really not sure because they did not seem to have a clue. When we arrived after reserving a Villa with two Queen size beds we were escorted to a Villa with two double beds. After 20 minutes of trying to explain what the difference was between a Queen and a Double (if your first language is not Spanish it will be very hard for you to have your needs met at this resort) I was told that there were no other options and no other concessions could be made. So we had no choice but to accept it and move on.

The next day we awoke to several wild Coati (Mexican Raccoons) outside of our bedroom door and very large piles of feces on our front steps. Yes this resort is in the middle of the jungle, but I didn’t expect to be THIS close to nature. There is no door or lock leading up to your Villa and the lock on your Villa bedroom door is magnetic and loosely held closed by a single screw. We did not feel safe at all.

The most horrific incident of all was the morning that a staff member delivered sweet breads and coffee to the Villa and instead of placing it inside (or outside) of my Villa, he proceeded to hand me a soft basket with a stainless steel carafe of hot coffee unstably resting on top of the soft bread basket. As I reached to accept the delivery half asleep and in my nightgown, I screamed with horror as the entire pot of hot coffee spilled on to my bare neck and chest.

The worst part of it all was no one came to my aid. The server left and came back 30 minutes later with a towel and a spray bottle to clean up the floor and not a call or a visit by anyone until halfway into the day a staff member came with a makeshift first aid kit with Aloe Vera! I then completed an incident report so that my injury could be documented for my return to the states. Again, not a single call or visit from anyone in management and no mention of the incident when we checked out.

Dear 843laylac, Thank you for sharing your experience during your recent stay, I’m truly sorry you didn’t enjoy your visit as expected, I appreciate the feedback shared, As mentioned during your stay our Queen size beds are indeed 1.53 mt X 2.03 mt. As part of our sustainable program we have many protected species in the property and the Coati is as one of the them, they are harmless and very important part of the ecosystem, we have biologist on property who assist with us to make sure they can be away of the villas and close the natures cycle, I apologize for the incident at your terrace. We have revised the morning pastries and coffee amenity delivery in order to ensure there are no further incidents. I take note of each one of your comments and personally will follow up, it definitely helps us to improve our service and facilities, hoping to have the opportunity to welcome you back.

I firmly believe that every resort, especially a 5 star resort, should treat customers with dignity and respect, and that they should engage in ethical business practices. I hope that after this review, Chable Maroma can strive to meet these standards. It is with this goal in mind that I write my review today.

As an initial matter, I do want to applaud the resort on a beautiful property. We were also very pleased with the food and attentive local staff (for the most part). However, I cannot get past management's unethical business practices, which I want to alert all guests to before they make a decision about their travel destination.

During a couple's massage at the spa in December of 2019, we had an extremely uncomfortable experience where a hotel gardener walked within three feet of us as we were getting dressed. Needless to say, making eye contact with a male gardener who is just a couple of feet away while you are standing completely naked ruined our massage for us. And, as a personal anecdote, this experience was absolutely humiliating and terrifying for me. A spa (and an experience as intimate as a massage) should be a safe space in safe place. Put simply, it wasn't. I do hope that Chable Maroma has instructed its non-spa staff to avoid the spa area while treatments are going on following our review.

I knew that the resort would want me to bring this serious incident to their attention, and so I reported it to spa personnel immediately. Spa personnel apologized for "the inconvenience."

When checking out of the hotel a few days later, and without being asked, the Chable Maroma employee assisting us with check-out stated that because of "the inconvenience" at the spa, Chable Maroma wanted to remove the charge for the massage from our bill. We were pleased. In truth, I thought that this was the least that Chable Maroma could do after the incident and the lack of understanding I received from the spa staff who helped me, but I appreciated it all the same. I thought finally, someone at Chable Maroma is acting professionally.

However, Chable Maroma didn't remove the charge. And they denied making the representation to remove the charge. In total, we've now spent almost three months going back and forth with Chable Maroma about the representation that they made to us that they would remove the massage charge from our bill. Chable Maroma even represented to us (in writing) that they would remove the entire charge. And then, without explanation, they later went back on their word and said that they would only reverse the charge for half of the costs. It doesn't make sense.

At the end of the day, this is not about a partial refund or a whole refund. This is not about money at all. This is about a luxury, 5 star resort who, in my humble opinion, lied to its guests and then went out of its way to engage in what I believe are deceitful misrepresentations. I caution any future guests: do not rely on any representations, whether written or verbal, from Chable Maroma's representatives. Our experience has been extremely disheartening.

If anyone can point me to Mexico's equivalent of a better bureau for business, please let me know. I have pages and pages and email correspondence that I think they would like to see.

I went for my 25th anniversary I booked the stand alone villa (incredible with unusable swimming pool) The room was in pretty bad shape a wooden furniture it is bad maintained the bathroom window had water leakage and it got flooded, the swimming pool it was always dirty and in the 5 nights stay we only used it the first day all others the filter was not working and the water turned green (very bad for the price I paid enclosed picture) The food it is amazing all 3 restaurants are spectacular, the BU'UL restaurant it is the best (it is one of the best chefs in Mexico) but the service was VERY bad the manager instead of helping and trying to make our experience better she was VERY rude and spoiled our night. If you go when it rains they don't pickup the beach and pool cushions and they are unusable because they are wet all the time, same in Raw Bar. Every single morning they bring to your room mexican bread and coffee but when you go out for it the animals from the surroundings had eaten and make a mess of the patio (I complain and the answer was the can not do anything that is how the animals are around here) frankly this is a very expensive hotel the can figure out a way to make your experience better not miserable. I hope the management will take all our comments to make the please wonderful for the future guests.

Service here was outstanding. The room and resort is small, intimate, and extremely luxurious which was exactly what we were looking for in our last stop for our honeymoon, the beach area was beautiful and inviting. The room was exactly as advertised, and photographed, aesthetically just a beautiful room.

Staff here in particular were fantastic. We had several stops at the restaurant for lunch and dinner, Humberto served us for the lunch and evening meals. We had great conversation with him about the local culture, and he made fabulous recommendations for our meals. We thoroughly enjoyed his attentiveness and looked forward to seeing him for our meals there.

We had also booked a spa appointment for a couples massage, which was extremely relaxing, and a very luxurious and needed break after all of our travels. The massage specialists were excellent, in particular Olivia and Noralma, who were accomodating, and treated us with excellent massages, aromatherapy, and in general a wonderful spa experience.

Location of the hotel is a bit off the beaten path of the highway, the road leading into the hotel could use a little bit of work (it was completely overflown with rainwater), but nothing that would deter my rating or experience!!

Coming out of covid hibernation and travel quarantine I wanted to splurge. So I picked up my American Express FHR, fine hotels and resorts guide, and chose Chable Maroma. It is a beautiful resort. The rooms are exquisite, well appointed, with your own in room pool, two showers one inside and one outside, a private toilet and a very comfortable bed with very nice sheets. The rooms are very private. The mini bar in the room does lack much. We asked for our sodas to be switched out for sparkling water. They were unable to do so. I found this surprising for a hotel resort that promotes health and wellness.
The property is well maintained and manicured. The staff is very friendly and they seem to enjoy their work. The beach is awesome, clean and uncrowded. It is unclear though what activities are also included with your stay. There's a boat parked on the beach that offers snorkeling. The captain mentioned that it is included with your stay. The hotel does offer bicycles but they are in such bad shape that they cannot be ridden. They definitely need some love. Again I found this surprising for the price that they charge and that they promote themselves as a health and wellness resort.
We had dinner there the first night and found the food to be unimaginative especially for the price. Luckily we had rented a car and were able to head to Playa del Carmen for the rest of our dinners. The bar is on point with a nice mixology program. Try the Black Rita! Breakfast was included with our stay and is good. Their coffee is very good. The restaurant is able to make adjustments for for your taste buds.
There are probably much better values out there in the area. I am sorry that I had spent this amount of money for this location. I am well aware that many resorts were hit hard by Covid but use that time to fix the bikes and better stock your mini bars.
They do offer on site covid tests which is very convenient and much appreciated.

Cannot recommend Chable Maroma enough. Everything was excellent. Great food, extremely friendly staff who were beyond attentive but not intrusive. The villas were comfortable and beautiful. The property is well designed and provides lots of privacy. The beach was well maintained. Nothing like afternoon popcycles on the beach. Housekeeping noted we drank Coke Lite and kept our in-room fridge well stocked.
We cannot wait to visit another Chable property soon!!!

the very good:
1) I have traveled throughout the world and the service with their kindness and vibrant spirit is among the best.
2) the facilities are beautiful and our room was very convenient to the dining room and etc.
3) the beach is certainly the best in the area - pure white sand
4) the ocean is very accessible and easy to enter (this is not true along much of the stretch of beaches in this area which do not have accessibility because of rocks and other conditions)
5) the new manager (there three or four months,Lutecia and David are very professional and helpful in every way.)
The bad (and the reason for giving this an average rating):
1) the chef and food are terrible. It is hard to understand how a five star hotel like this has such a terrible chef and food. also it is very expensive. We were constantly having to send food back and many times we hardly ate anything and resorted to trying other hotels and going into Playa de Carmen (round-trip $50) so we could eat. we were there with our friends and cut our time there and would 'have cut it back even more if they allowed it.
2) I would not go there in January since the weather is spotty with rain, cloudy and so windy on the beach that many days we could not sit there.
3) they have these little animal that looked like anteaters but are not running around so that if you left any food on the porch or the doors open with food in the room they would come in (which happened to us one evening). We have to lock the doors at night to be safe- they did not have screens on the door of the room which meant that in the cool evenings we could not get the fresh air but had to constantly use air conditioning.
4) the other problem we pointed out tp the manager was that elderly people such as us had difficulty in that there was no railing into the pool or coming down from the second floor bar.

There's a small market at the beginning of the street leading to this hotel so I anticipate you can either have a taxi bring you there and back for very little money or maybe the hotel would accommodate the request since they are very customer service oriented.
