This accommodation is basic and pleasant enough on the surface, but with time it reveals maintenance, cleaning and comfort issues.

Firstly, the beds are horrific. They are so hard. Between us we occupied several rooms, so we know that this is an issue across the units and not just my bad luck. I would imagine they are very cheap beds and this is a real shame. But much much worse was is the fold out sofas. I challenge the owners to sleep a weekend on one and see for themselves what they are putting their paying customers through.

Secondly, the dishwasher situation. The owners insist that prior misuse is an acceptable reason to prevent current customers from having the option to use a dishwasher. The owners should stop playing the blame game- It’s not right. Do something pro-active about it! Invest in a later model dish-drawer- everyone knows that those ones were problematic.

Next, the rooms are not as clean and well serviced as they should be for paying customers. This includes the bathroom floors, the carpet ( owners when you take up the challenge to stay in your awful rooms wear some white socks and then you’ll know what I’m on about), the bathroom louver blinds, the spa jets, the white (murky white) linen, the walls, the skirting boards! While little bathroom soaps were replaced, plunger coffee and make up remover wipes certainly weren’t. It’s a bit off to put up a sign threatening to charge for makeup stained face flannels and yet not provide enough makeup wipes for the number of people booked in and keep them stocked each day!

And lastly the finishing touches- bedside clocks and mirrors. Or not as the case is.

This accommodation is in need of an overhaul maintenance followed by regular up keep. The heated towel rail in our room was rusty and not heating. The loo flusher broken. Grout in tiles missing.

We had a roof over our heads- which was good, but I wouldn’t come back. I hope that owners take up my challenge instead of getting defensive when they read my review. It’s just how it is, and it would be nice to see it improved one day soon.

We booked 2 room for our stay A deluxe room for 3 nights and a twin room for one night.
The room we booked to stay in was supposed to be a deluxe room but it was far from being deluxe. The room was clean but lacked comfort. The bed was like sleeping on a concrete slab the lounge chairs were hard and uncomfortable. The kitchenette was basic. The bathroom could have been cleaner. Our room had no pillow slips on the pillows so we had to go ask at reception for some we also didn’t have a bath mat. We were there for 3 nights and our room was not serviced during that time. The cleaning staff knocked on the door and rudely asked do you need anything. Not impressed.
The patio area off our room was filthy and very much in need of water blasting as it was slippery when wet. The twin room we booked for our sons overnight. Most places charge a twin room at a cost that covers 2 people. Not this place. A twin room is charged for one person any extra person is charged out as an extra adult. I thought that was a bit off. In the twin room the beds were just as uncomfortable both beds were different and our almost 6ft sons thought the beds were better suited for kids.
Both rooms said there was an iron but no neither of us didn’t have one. We had to ask for it at reception.
All in all this place could do with a spruce up
The place also needs double glazing. It’s situated on a busy corner and the traffic noise is horrendous.

The unit was well equipped for a housekeeping type stay, but smelled a bit musty and looked quite tired...vent in bathroom ceiling taped up with black electrical tape, badly patched and unpainted repair in entry hallway, no bedside lamps, a mysterious bed part rolling around under the bed the whole time we were there. The "free wifi" was so slow I used up most of my allowance in the fist day and after that didn't bother. On the plus side, it was close to the hospital and had free off street parking. Also no noise from other units, even though we were on the lower floor of a two storey unit.

Absolutely rude and intrusive owner barges in the room at any time she wants 745pm being the latest in my experience.. She will get mad if you move a chair or set the kitchenette up how you want it and will reorganise it in front of you. You cannot talk in the room as the walls are paper thin. I had a near empty toilet roll when I arrived no milk no salt when I asked the owner for some she rudley stomped off came back with another roll of near empty toilet paper. Has a smokers area out th back wich the owner complained because she felt I smoked excessively (deal with her you'll smoke too) multiple drug addicts were there during my stay. All in all horrible place horrible owner horrible rooms and waaay over priced for the stuff you have to go through. AVOID THIS PLACE

Firstly, the SKY TV did not work properly (stuck on menu page). Offered to fix it for them free of charge (having a working background in broadcasting with the BBC, amongst others), only to find that the technical setup was such a shambles that I didn't want to touch it for fear of making it any worse than it already was...

Secondly, rolled over in the night to find myself getting pronged by a three pin mains plug from the electric blanket, UNDER THE SHEETS! In the middle of the bed! Called housekeeping immediately, only to be replied with "Oh well, not a major - We'll sort it out in the morning, Goodnight"... WHAT THE...???

Thirdly, upon waking eventually and going for a shave and shower, discovered that there was no plug for the sink in the bathroom, so I had to get a small dish from the kitchen area to block the plughole just so I could have a shave without the water draining away!

Finally, and to top it all off, the 'host' / 'manager' turns up at 10.30am and throws me out, because I complained too much!!! Even though I had booked the place for 2 nights so I could enjoy the opening of the Rugby World Cup, on SKY which did not work...

...and I'm $195 lighter for the privilege.... What a RIP OFF!

Arrived late to stay after a long drive from the South Island.
The women at check is was incredibly rude, difficult and spiteful. Very unhelpful, and unfriendly. I'd like to remind this women that we are pay customers and they are supposed to be offering a service and throughout the whole stay her attitude was appalling!

As for the rooms they are pleasant, clean and modern Unfortunatly as being very close to main road extremely noisy all night.

Where to start?! On the surface the room seemed fine but after noticing BLACK mould on the curtains in one room and the living room, dirty dishes in the cupboards, not enough towels for the guests and the constant threats of extra charges scattered around the room, we were appalled. Room was not serviced during our stay, the owner was absolutely rude-and couldn’t even crack a smile. She was informed of the state of the room and the fact it hadn’t been serviced but no apology- she didn’t care.
My advise is take your own coffee, towel, dishes, milk and even perhaps your own clean curtains if you want to enjoy your stay- oh and try and avoid the owner!!

Worst stay ever! Rude staff, party going on outside rooms on balcony. Broken TV, ditty rooms. When most residents complained the next morning the staff didn't care. Awful!
I would strongly suggest you find another motel. The new owners have no interest in customer service or maintaining the property.

I will not be back. My room housed several cockroaches and, perhaps not unrelated, when I went to cook my food I found two dodgy saucepans in the cupboard. One had been used to burn something and was too blackened to mix with food; the other still had leftovers in it and was gradually gathering mould!

Had an iron but no ironing board, so I used a towel over a table as a makeshift replacement. On my first night (of two) there was a noisy gathering in a room above me somewhere that didn’t abate until 2am and the walls are very thin with no noise protection.

When first walking into this place everything seems and looks fine, but after trying out two different rooms I'm left injured and not at all impressed. The downstairs rooms were designed for disabled access in the bathrooms which is a nice thought but when you use the shower (not enclosed) the entire bathroom tiled floor instantly becomes very slippery and unsafe. It was so bad even just standing still in bare feet trying to brush my teeth I fell over 3 times. I ended up having to put on shoes just to use the shower without slipping over. Further in the upstairs room the metal tv bracket actually is in the way of safely walking around the bed and in the dark I accidentally smacked my head hard on the metal tv bracket (which shouldn't even be in the way of safely walking around the bed). Seriously who designed this place? It's a osh hazzard disaster. I was happy about how nice and clean the rooms are but seriously hurting myself from unsafe rooms has left me very unhappy and in my opinion nobody should be staying here until the safety issues are resolved. The slippery shower floor needs anti slip grip added to the floor tiles and the tv bracket should be removed completely or at least put in a safe place where you won't hit your head just getting back to bed. These are not nice to have wishes safety is essential and everybody's right, it shouldn't be neglected.

The owners response says it all. “It’s the customers fault and not ours. They are just complaining for the sake of it and it has nothing to do with our bad attitudes or the badly neglected motel that we run”
