I stayed for 2 nights in a Pool villa with an own swimming pool, the room was very beautiful and comfortable. Every day after waking and having a look outside, the only word that would come out was 'WOW'. With the trees, ocean and mountain view, definitely an ideal place for meditation.

Service is excellent at a high level of cleaning and customer care, the food was delicious at its price.

Worth it every penny we've spent.

Love to be back here again.

If you're looking for island living experience with city life convenience you are in the right place. If you're going to choose the pool villas is even more perfect, your own pool is situated over looking the sea facing the beautiful facade of the mountain.

You're ideal dining experience will never be the same once you experience the island beach dinner. While having your wine the young talents of the island will showcase Filipino folk dances which you are welcome to join them after their performances.

You can also enjoy the other world below the ocean together with the island's own licensed scuba divers or you can arrange tours to enjoy nearby Kawasan Falls.

Truly this island has a lot to offer but I will never forget the warmth Filipino hospitality of the staffs.

I'm coming back soon.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is the place to go! It’s definitely a place to find peace and serenity. The resort is clean, well maintained, and luxurious.

The pool villa is breathtaking with the matching scenery of the mountains of Cebu. Their food is great and prices are reasonable. You may even do simple request for kiddie food if your traveling with a child who is a picky eater. Staff of the resort are nice, helpful and very courteous.

The resort also offers use of their facilities like the Thalasso, use of paddle boards and boats. You may even book for a trip to the coral garden. If you’re a bit more adventurous, you may also get diving lessons in the island. They have licensed staff for this type of activity so you won’t have to worry.

Need a massage? They also have a spa treatment in the island!

Overall, it was a great experience! Staff are easy to talk to and they made our stay very comfortable.

Staying in the island makes time run slower and you get to take that long awaited
break from work.

Lastly, they also have wi-fi in case you really need to get online, but my advise is to let go of screen time and experience the moment.

I went with family to Badian Island Wellness Resort with family. I didn't expect a modern room since I know this resort has been built since 1980s. However, I didn't expect to wake up with red rashes and allergies on my legs which were caused by bug bites. Even today, the bites haven't subsided yet even after taking allergy medicine daily.

Secondly, the bathroom needs an actual door (not shell curtains) and covers on the windows - people can actually see you showering since the bathroom is all glass. We had to ask housekeeping to put up a temporary bedsheet cover over the shell curtain to have some privacy.

Thirdly, cabinets need to be updated, you can see termite eaten cabinet moldings which should've been replaced. Ants are everywhere in the room and bathroom... Room was clean but old and creaky, I couldn't get a good night's sleep since every time someone goes to the bathroom you can feel the entire floor vibrating from the footsteps.

If you are looking for a secluded resort where you go to other islands for snorkeling and diving activities, then maybe this could be a good base for you. Other than that, there is nothing to do at the resort, many areas are closed for renovation. Restaurant food is very expensive - although I understand there will be added costs since all ingredients are transported to and from the island.

For the pros:

The view is very beautiful. Calm waters amidst a backdrop of green mountains is a welcoming site during sunrise. Pool is big and clean, gardens are well maintained - although I actually saw a snake crossing the pathway while I was walking and it was scary for me since it is a very long green snake. Poisonous or not I don't know.
There is Thalasso Waterfalls for you to dip in every day but subject to schedule and availability.

The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the people in the resort are very nice and accommodating. I'm looking forward to a major renovation of this resort.

Hi Daphen76, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. As the resort is situated on a tropical island, we remind our guests not to leave the doors & windows open for too long and use the abaca fiber screen to prevent bugs & insects from entering the room. Our Badian Suite & Pool Villa is preferably for honeymooners & couples who love the romantic vibe of the room. I trust our newly renovated Family Suite will be a perfect fit for you and there would be an actual door for the bathroom. Just to share here are the following activities that are available on the island • Beach volleyball • Frisbee • Table tennis • Darts • Table soccer • Chess • Bicycle • Snorkeling • Kayaking • Paddle boat • Stand-up paddle • Aqua cycle Our reception can also arrange various tours & excursion which is only available on the south coast of Cebu like Canyoneering, Whaleshark watching & Sardine run Staying on a tropical island has its perks & drawbacks. One thing you never find in an ordinary hotel is the ultimate privacy of what the Island has to offer. The beautiful scenery of both the sea and mountain range, birds chirping at the balcony, and a hermit crab crossing the pathway. I trust you have noticed the renovation being done at the property during your stay and hopefully we can finish this renovation in the 1st quarter of 2023 despite the intensive damage from typhoon Odette. We look forward to seeing you again soon and hearing all about your new experiences to further improve our services & facilities.

Our room: big & spacious however old, needs upgrade. A suite room that doesn't have a television inside & 2 out of 4 lamps are broken. The floor is dirty, my son walks barefoot inside & you can see his feet turned black & red. Thick dust at the back of the cabinet & lizard poop here & there. No bedroom slippers & toothbrush is upon request. You can feel something hard in the middle of the bed, which is uncomfortable when sleeping.
Beach: murky & muddy, and, faaaar from the room.
Food: yummy but expensive. Serving are small, though, sandwiches can be shared. Overall: I came there for the beach but never took a dip because its muddy & murky. It's also not senior citizen friendly. Expectations not met. Good to be there but not coming back.

Hi Daydream29764908671, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Indeed, there is no television in all rooms, which is part of our wellness brand. It promotes an active lifestyle to our guests while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the island. Rooms are provided with a rubber slipper which can be used inside or outside the room and standard amenities are provided. Normally it only takes 3-4 minutes’ walk from the room going to the beach which is a good exercise. If you do like the convenience of having a filtered seawater pool, I suggest taking our Pool Villa. Our Front Office team advises the best tide & time to enjoy the beach when you arrive at the same time High Tide & Low Tide schedules are also posted on the beach towel post. Glad to hear that you love our food. As we do use fresh and quality ingredients. Just to share we do have our own organic garden & a small chicken house which provides fresh ingredients to our Panorama Restaurant. I hope you have visited our garden where you can also buy some ornamental plants for your home. Expensive? Serving fresh & quality food also comes at a reasonable price. We appreciate the constructive criticism; it was a pity that we cannot meet your expectations. Cheers, David

A truly wonderful resort hotel and perfect oasis of class amongst the humble surroundings outside the island.

We had a fantastic time here. I’ve stayed at many 5 star resorts across the world and this experience was up there with the best although quite individual.

Awesome customer service and the best staff possible who genuinely can’t be happier to serve you and provide the best.

The grounds and rooms are superb if a little philippino in term of the finsih. E.g wonderful gardens, pool (we had a private pool in the room) views decor fantastic but then the tap is a little wobbly, the aircon remote was missing the hair drier socket sometimes worked, menu in the restaurant never changed.

Charges were super low apart from the massages which were around 8 times the cost of the local town and in the week we were there I never saw it used.

The bar and beach area were truly beautiful with views amongst the best in the world.

Overall we had one of the best stays of our lives and I would t hesitate to recommend to anyone. I’ll mention again the staff who were wonderful .

We tried the canyoneering which was incredible but didn’t book through the hotel. Remember to tip the guide he gets very little of the charge which is pretty low anyway.

Beware the local tour operators, trikes and cabs. They offer you each others services and often charge a premium, now I expect a little bit of margin adding but it can be 4 or 5 times the real price which is ludicrous. But this is talking about outside the resort and not a reflection on them.

We travelled in several countries already and stayed also in 5 stars resorts. But this is the first resort, where we came now the third time and will come for sure every back. The Manager Ryan takes always care, that the guests are 100% happy and get a unique service. The food is not only one of the best we ever got in a resort, it is also very healthy ( own organic garden). We can only recommend this special place in the south of Cebu.
Thank you very much dear Ryan, that we could stay again with our family in this fantastic resort.

We stayed at this resort for a second time and it was just as wonderful as the first time. We booked for 2 nights to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. We stayed in a Pool Villa room, it was spacious with a private pool and a very nice view. Our favorite morning routine there is sitting at the balcony waiting for the sun to rise while enjoying our coffee and listening to the relaxing sounds of the sea waves with the birds chirping.
Everywhere in the resort, you'll still get a wi-Fi connection - not a problem for those kids enrolled for online class or WFH. The food at the restaurant is fabulous. If you are thinking of staying at this resort, do it. This place can guarantee a relaxation, and because of this pandemic, the resort's area to guest ratio can guarantee you will never be too close to anybody. All staff is fully vaccinated and wear their face masks at all times too.

This island resort in cebu is highly recommended.

a SAFE place to have your family vacation without the crowd🤗. It is like owning the island by yourselves where you can feel and breath in the sea breeze without having second thoughts.

Hands down to all staff who was very friendly and approachable during my stay. I felt so safe when i knew their staff are staying in-house and having quarrantine before they can report back to work.

Food was superb😋 and the rooms was great but It can use little bit upgrade. The Spa was amazing😍 (a must try)

Dear Travel52904087659, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are a pioneer island resort in the Philippines, our junior suites & family suites have non-contemporary traditional Filipino design while our Badian suites & Pool villas lean to a more rustic Filipino design. Badian Island, a tropical island, is a natural environment for common house lizards which are not considered harmful. One can see them on the walls of our balcony and it is advised to properly close the windows and doors to prevent their entry. On our tropical island set up by the balcony, one can see not only lizards but also enjoy the serenity of the island of birds that chirp and the fresh ocean breeze. As for unforeseen maintenance concerns like the toilet and air-condition the team was able to respond and rectify in a timely manner. After reviewing, the floating water bottle came from the adjacent Pool Villa where kids are playing catch and overthrew their bottles into your pool. We apologize and regret that our facilities and actions were not enough to meet your expectation. We appreciate the constructive criticism, and we look forward to improving our facilities & services to create a better Badian Island Experience. Regards, Ryan
