Arrived in pouring rain after a trail ride from Tignish. Brian the hospitality manager was absolutely amazing, getting us in our rooms quickly, securing our bikes and offering his help with our requests to get our equipment dry before next day ride. Rooms really clean, very grateful for the pool and hot tub. Dinner fabulous in the restaurant and very friendly staff.
Thank you so much - highly recommended.

The hotel has been updated and is lovely and modern although the washroom in our room wasn’t updated, old furnishings and countertops and gross tub.

The resort has many amenities including a spa and an aqua plex and a lovely golf course and a restaurant on site .

The wine list is terrible! So bring your own if your going to dine here. I was excited to eat here as the menu was quite eclectic . The first night I ordered the pan fried haddock with lobster sauce over island mashed potatoes with seasoned veg. The fish was good, the lobster was sauce was delicious full of claws and meaty pieces but the carrots were raw and the potatoes were dry and unseasoned for a mash.

The following evening I had the pasta which has chicken and sundries tomatoes in a pesto cream sauce, I asked for lobster to be added ($12 extra) although the dish was tasty the chef threw in a few pieces of meat from the legs of the lobster, no claws, no tail nothing like the evening before , it was strange and disappointing. Definitely not $12 worth of lobster.

My husband ordered the chicken quesadilla which was supposed to come with fresh pico de gallo and sour cream but they shoved French fries on the plate and ketchup . We asked the - waitress for the sour cream and the sides and she apologized said no pico de gallo

I enjoyed this hotel but I wish they would revamp the menu
Breakfast was good though!

Beautiful location, lots of amenities, but we felt as though we were treated as second class citizens as we did not go with the intention of golfing. The package we purchased only offered access to the 3 hole short course - that was fine. We rented clubs though the pro shop, and walked towards the poorly marked course. The three hole short course was quite fun, and would be great for folks who are low on time or new to the sport. On our walk back however, we were approached by an employee as he wanted to make sure we were not using the regular course, as that course was reserved for the paying golfers only. This was very irritating, as we were simply passing though the course and we felt as though we were being accused of something. Once we got back to the pro shop, they didn't even acknowledge us. The next day we tried out the disc golf course, and another employee on a cart kept circling the course and staring at us - quite unnerving. We constantly felt as though we were doing something wrong, and we were not able to unwind fully. I wish that we had just chosen to golf that weekend, maybe it would have been better.

Also, we were regularly given conflicting answers regarding amenities. Many miscommunications about equipment rentals for the squash and tennis courts, and bike rentals.

Food was overpriced for what it was, but many vegetarian options. Despite this, we will likely return, but with the intention of golfing next time.

Extremely disappointed, I tried to order food for a group as well as food for our room for my pregnant girlfriend and I. We were refused service 15 minutes before the kitchen closed. The restaurant manager would be better suited for the grounds crew at the golf course, definitely not qualified for customer service. It a beautiful property but where it is located leaves no other option for ordering in. No cold plates, no other options other than the vending machines.

This is not a resort!

Took advantage of a great special at Mill River in June. Rooms are very nice and very clean. Disappointing part of stay was food selection. While we fully understand COVID has changed the traffic flow the dining room selection was minimal and quality poor. We had checked the website prior to traveling and full menu was posted. Would we stay again? Probably but only because it works with golf.

So we arrived in the afternoon and our room was all ready. Check in went very smooth, and since we had a gift card, we added it right to our account. The checkin staff was very courteous and friendly.

Because of COVID we had to book our pool time, which was no problems and everything went smoothly and was quite enjoyable and clean, including the hot tub and sauna. The pool staff was awesome and very friendly.

The gym was top notch and very clean and roomy with lots of equipment.

Dinner was excellent. We all just got starters, but there was plenty of food and none of us left hungry; as a matter of fact, we ended up taking a to go box with us. Again, the staff was excellent.

The next morning things were a little different. The server staff was almost non existent except for being able to listen to a couple of them off to the side more intent on complaining about the tips than serving the guests. My wife waited almost 15 minutes for a coffee refill, and even then, we had to flag an their server down, as ours was no where to be seen. Clearly our decision to get breakfast from Timmy's was a good one.

There was some entertainment at night, a lone guitarist who was, in my opinion, quite awesome. I really enjoyed the music and his song selection.

All in all we had a pretty good time and we just wish that the weather would have cooperated more so that we could have enjoyed some skiing or tubing, but this is not the fault of the resort or the staff.

Would we come back here? Yes, we definitely would and plan to come back again nexy fall or winter.

We were welcomed by Brian at the Front desk for our 1 night stay, checked-in in a couple of seconds and could rest after a travel. We had our baby with us and we enjoyed the pool and beautiful nature around the resort. Room was renovated, clean and tidy, everything worked fine, beds very comfortable, we actually slept in and came for our breakfast reservation late which never happens ! Again, amazing customer service by Brian at check-out, when he did run out of the hotel to bring us baby blanket we forgot in a room! My little one could not fall asleep without her blanket so this means a lot to us. Thanks housekeeping for a fast action!
Great resort, great food and amazing staff out west!
Thank you

I hate to leave a bad review as I am a local and I like to see local places do well. But this was the worst meal we have ever been served in a restaurant. After waiting an hour, our food was served ice cold and yet also burnt. It was very bad. Luckily the waitress/decision maker was very apologetic and ended up comping our bill. For this reason we will give it another chance some day, it’s a beautiful spot. It was not a busy night but another table (8 people) were also served cold food after an hour wait

Just came back from spending a night at your hotel, I have to say we were served the worst food
that I have had in a restaurant in a very long time, we started with Mussels they were not fit to eat
we sent them back a disgrace after all P.E.I is know for their shell fish, three people for there main course ordered the pasta that was recommended by our waiter and it was not great very dry tasteless,I ordered the hamburger and house salad, salad was good but the burger was so dry tasted like it had been reheated and dried out. Would not recommend eating in there dining room to anyone staying there.
The hotel is nice and the guys loved the golf.

We absolutely loved staying at Mill River in February. They’ve done an amazing job renovating; the rooms are beautifully decorated. Our room had a king sized bed as well as bunk beds, our girls loved it! During the winter months, there are so many wonderful outdoor activities; bonfires, skating, skiing, snowshoeing, tubing & horse and carriage rides. There was also a pool, which was clean and had a great slide. A restaurant w was on site, which served basic pub fare.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away and our time there, and can’t wait to return. Although we went with our young family, who loved it, it’s a great place for everyone (adult trips, families, solo travelers, etc.). My list of positives to say about the Mill River Resort could go on and on.

There isn't much around Mill River Resort other than the golf course and campground. There is lots to do at the resort. You would be an hour and a half from Charlottetown. If you are going to PEI inthe summer, there are so many wonderful beaches all over the island to enjoy. Have a wonderful trip

We just registered two adults and then told the front desk when we got there that we had two kids with us. Kids eat free at the restaurant as well.
