We visited with a small group and the lodge was simple, but good. The rooms were comfortable and food service good. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable; we did a local walk, canoe trip, and jeep safari (their vehicles appear to be brand new too), plus they had an evening program one night for all guests with traditional music and... We arrived in a small group after a bus breakdown. The staff and owner are so welcoming. There are rooms and huts, with en suite bathrooms and plenty of hot water for showers. There are no restaurants in the vicinity. The staff prepare meals there buffet style and were tasty. We had a cultural evening of the local men, enjoyable... More

Part of my trip to Nepal in November this year I had three days at the Maruni Sanctuary Lodge. I arrived late morning after driving from Bandipur. I was welcomed by staff and shown to a very comfortable cabin on stilts. Madhav Gautam, the Manager at the Lodge introduced himself and explained the Resort layout and what was planned for... More

I stayed at Maruni for 4 nights and it offered total peace and quiet, which was only 5 mins away from the busy village. The staff went out of there way, taking me on a short walk to the nearby bridge, with the guides in the evening, to watch the Rhino's crossing the road. Having all activities included within the... The staff really make this place special. They were all so friendly and helpful. The location is superb, far away from the bustle of Sauraha, you feel like you are in the wild. Accommodation is not luxurious, but in keeping with the surroundings and everything worked - showers, loo, electricity - so exactly what we wanted and the public spaces... More

Neat and functional little "cottages" erected on stilts around a central garden area for relaxing and dining, excellent food and pleasant unobtrusive staff. Bathrooms a little primative but functional and lovely spacious rooms pleasantly decorated. And a little wooden veranda for sitting outside while retaining privacy. The sanctuary is in the heart of the Chitwan National Park. On foot from... More
