Detailed Reviews
My mum and I went for a drive to Rydal to have Sunday lunch at the pub. We were warmly greeted by the owners and had lunch in the bar next to the fire. We chatted with the owners and the locals who were all very lovely. It was a super friendly atmosphere and we had the most delicious burgers! Will definitely go again.

We loved our visit to the Rydal pub back in June located in a small & quiet country town. Well cooked and delicious steak, warm fire, clean facilities and welcoming publicans.
Will definitely be back.

We had a great stay here with friends. The open fireplace in the main bar is very welcoming on a cold Friday night. We also stayed and ate here. Rooms are large clean and warm. Food was great. Recommend the chicken schnitzel. Really enjoyable country stay. Thanks Phil.

Rode motorcycle there, greeted by a wonderful fire in the bar (the last few k's at night were pretty cool on a bike). Phil the publican & staff made me welcome. Enjoyed a great eye fillet for dinner, stayed the night, large hot breakfast & coffees next morning. Lake Lyell 8 mins, Lithgow 19 mins, Bathurst 37 mins, Jenolan Caves 44 mins, Mudgee 1hr & 37 mins. away, so it's easy to find things to do from here. Great high country roads in the area if you like riding or driving. Rooms clean & warm, beds comfy, shared bathrooms (as found in most country pubs) were very clean. Accommodation & meal prices very (very!) reasonable. Give it a go!

At the end of a nice country drive is this cute hotel, set in what seems like the middle of nowhere. Turns out it's full of people on Saturday nights, the food is great and generous and the host is funny and friendly. We had two good nights here and the best bits were in the bar. What a great place. We will be back. Oh and the rooms are clean, basic but clean. The bathrooms - inserted into what would have been another bedroom, are also clean. Showers are cramped but there is nothing anyone can do about that. A nice injection of funds into this place is what it really needs but it's perfectly fine as it is too.

We have no idea why this fantastic country pub/hotel has a rating of only 3/5 when, in our view, (and there were 4 of us in two rooms) we would all easily award it 5/5. The locals in the bar were welcoming from the moment we stepped inside and Phil the owner did everything he could to make us more than welcome. The hotel and the rooms are perfectly maintained for the age of the place and the atmosphere and the scenic walk around Rydal are wonderful. If you're driving anywhere near this part of the world and need a very pleasant break, you should not hesitate to stay here. It's great value for money with a self-service breakfast included and the bar meals are simple fare but quite delicious. You will be extraordinarily entertained by the banter and tales from the locals in the bar.

Spent last weekend at Rydal (apprx 20mins from Lithgow NSW) at this country pub. Nice break from the city, good hosts Phil & Judy, good meals & hospitality. Nearby Tarana is good for Sunday lunch & often has arvo entertainment. Recommended

Publicans were very friendly, beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean.
They offered to store my bike in the beer garden for safe keeping
Cheap accommodation, cold beer and decent food.
Thanks to the owners

Great little country pub near Lithgow. The publican, Phil, is very hospitable with a good sense of humour and he can cook! All the locals are friendly also and we met some really interesting characters too (mainly from Sydney who go back again and again!) Be warned though there's not much around the area so the country atmosphere, friendly people and lovely countryside are the main attractions. A nice place to visit to get out of the "Big Smoke"!

We stopped in here and made a last minute booking as part of a camping weekend in the local area.
We had a great lunch at the bar and found out there was one room free that night which was very appealing given the wet weather.
The open fire, excellent coffee and friendly host make this a great place to stay.
