Very old hotel, it was clear the moment i walked in there. Corridors old, room old and so on. The bed not so comfy, stayed there one night. Breakfast very modest, but had a full belly when i left.
Did the work, but would prefer another hotel in the future.

I stayed for two nights in a weekend. The room was good. Quite large (not sure if it was a standard room, no 524), clean, and suited my needs. It could do with a refurbishing, but it's much more important to me that it's clean than new.

The hotel staff went out of their way to help me with a couple of practical matters. I also checked out 20 minutes too late because I didn't realize that the, checkout time was 11 and not 12 in time, but I didn't have to pay extra.

The breakfast is quite simple and doesn't have a lot of variety, but it was perfectly fine.

This hotel is situated in the middle of the city centre with the train station and bus stop within a 10 minute walk. There are many shops and restaurants close by.

I recommend this hotel if you are staying in Herlev.

My XP computer was not connected to the hotel WiFi. On a Sunday morning, the front desk manager said she would call someone to fix it. She did and my problem fixed in an hour!
Herlev Kro Hotel in quiet Herlev is a city retreat. Takes some 20 minutes away by commuter train to lively Copenhagen. Local residents are international-friendly.
It's not difficult to identify hotel owners Jette & Leslie Christensen especially Jette with sun-shining smiles. Front desk, restaurant staff are likewise.
It has been an inn in the location since 1863. Very interesting to see modern Herlev Kro from the hotel entrance side and historic Herlev Kro from the restaurant entrance side.
Room is warm and comfy. Public computer on the second floor and self-serve coffee machine on the third floor, jackets for guest smoking outside are very nice thoughtful features.

If you are looking for a tradtional Danish Inn, or Kro as they are called, this is not the place to stay. Their website could indicate that it was a combination of the old Inn and a new hotel, which it is not. The hotel is in a relatively new building in a rather dull neighbourhood. However, the rooms were good enough, spacious and with a good bed. We arrived late, and even though the chef was about to close the kitchen, he prepared excellent steaks for us.

It's always a pleasure to book rooms for my foreign guests while meeting here in Copenhagen and everybody is asking for the history. I want to stay here next time they all say. And the restaurant has very good and traditional food. Can be recommended for sure.

We were happy with this hotel. I have seen some reviews that rated the buffet as “average”. Maybe I am just simple but I thought it was good. Scrambled eggs, bacon, juices, breads, cereals, yogurts and cheeses. I thought it nice. It’s in a nice little area with all sorts of shops a few steps from the front door. Transit was easy to navigate and cost about 4 bucks per person to get to Copenhagen city center and about 30 minutes. Everyone we met associated with the hotel was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely consider staying here again. As far as buses go, the hotel is in the area considere “greater Copenhagen area” which means public transit is about double the price to the airport. (About 8 USD per person).

Restaurant food was fairly nice. The rooms are not good at all. They were clean though. Staff were ok but the place was very stale and extremely tired. Beds and sheets were awful. More like a hostel really, not a hotel.

Very nice hotel, everything worked as it should. Extra points for small fridge in room and for that they sold a lunch box (about 8 euros) to where you can collect food from breakfast buffet. Hotel entrance was bit difficult to find by car/taxi, by foot (bus or train) it would have been easier due some shopping street. One person room would have been bit difficult sized for longer trip; bed was huge and bathroom also, but there wasn't much space for suitcase and clothes.

We spent two nights recently in the Herlev Kro Hotel. For us, this was a perfect choice. We have on previous trips to Denmark, stayed in the city of Copenhagen and we not pleased with the small rooms, higher prices and noise during the night. This hotel in Herlev solved those problems for us. The room was large (had a table, desk, two chairs, very ample wardrobe storage, a television, a small mini bar fridge), good lighting, a window that opened for good ventilation. Our bed and pillows were comfortable and our sleep was not interrupted all night long. For US$175, we had a good place to stay with a very good breakfast the next morning. Many choices of breakfast foods, appealingly displayed buffet style in a lovely dining room. The location was good. Steps from the hotel is a shopping center with several different kinds of stores, including two grocery stores, a pharmacy, bakery, meat market, ice cream and candy shop, sandwich shops and other restaurants. A two minute walk takes you to a bus stop that takes you to Copenhagen, or five minute walk takes you to the S train. (from there to the Metro to the airport in 1/2 hour). Any conversations we had with hotel employees were friendly and efficient. We have no complaints about our experience with this hotel and will happily stay here in the future.

Transfer from the airport • By taxi, duration approx. a half hour, cost approx. DKK 500. The taxis do accept various credit cards with chip and pin code. • By public transport you take the Metro to Vanløse and then change to the S-train (line C/H to Frederikssund or Ballerup). Our hotel is approximately 10 minutes’ walk from Herlev Station. There are also busses which stop at “Herlev Bymidte” - that is very close to the hotel. You will need a ticket for 4 zones from the airport, cost DKK 48.

Is there a rain close to the hotel to get to the airport and back and forth to town
Answer from Jette C
Herlev, Denmark4 contributions
Dear Mr. Kerman, thanks for your question. There is a train station (Herlev Station) 10 minutes walk from the hotel. If you need public transportation from the airport you take the Metro to Vanløse Station and then change to the S-train line C or H, direction Ballerup or Frederikssund. You will need a ticket for 4 zones. Alternatively you can take a taxi directly to the hotel. If you contact the hotel directly on booking@herlev-kro.dk the receptionist can check up on your reservation and send further information, maps or what you may like to know. We wish you a pleasant stay!
