Six of us went for lunch on a Tuesday and were greeted like old friends. We had been there before (6 months earlier) but it was lovely to be remembered and welcomed. We had drinks and nibbles in a nice corner, where we had a chance to look at the menu, chat and relax. When the food was ready we...

Called at this impressive Geogian hostelry "on spec" for lunch on a Saturday when it was very busy. We found a table and were very impresed by the welcome and friendliness of the staff and in spite of being busy we were served with lunch baguettes which were very well filled and presented and the staff were very attentive throughout...

The George inn has some very lovely rooms if you are looking to stay somewhere between London and the South. My mother and I had two different rooms and both equally as lovely. The room I had in Pooke had a separate bathroom and a seprate shower on the other end of the room, but was the largest room with...

We were lucky enough to be invited to a friends 70th birthday lunch at The George Inn. A great lunch, good food, good wine, good fun. The service from Jane and her staff was first class , nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend to anyone.

Arrived for lunch, dog friendly and a very warm and genuine welcome from Jane and her staff. We live locally but will travel again for this very tasty and locally sourced choice, nice to see the individual origins of the meat, fish, veg, ice cream and drink. Very comfortable surroundings, you could miss Robertsbridge it a small quaint village, all...

The welcome at The George Inn is very warm and enthusiastic and we couldn't fault it on this. The food however is really nothing special. It's OK for pub grub but a bit hit and miss. Our party of 4 had some successful dishes, and others less so. The Sunday roast was disappointing - dry meat and very greasy roast...

Stayed at the George for a couple of nights with friends. I had spoken with Jane when booking and she was as friendly and easy to get on with then as when we checked in. The rooms are really well appointed and comfortable, mixing antique furniture with modern luxuries. The bar and restaurant completed the package, food and drink being...

This was a great find on our way to Camber. We arrived here for lunch, i had read reviews on trip advisor and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and attentive, i had read about the tempura cod so had high expectations it was amazing in fact i couldn't eat it all. When we left the land lady...

Stayed for one night with my boyfriend. The staff were lovely and helpful. The room was very good size, super cosy, very comfy bed and spotless. We had dinner that evening too which was lovely and great value for money - 3 course dinner and 4 drinks each for £100! Breakfast in the morning was tasty but the time 9-9:30...

Went here for a joint birthday meal with father in law and his partner. I ordered the 'Fish of the day' which was Plaice. Hard to describe the dish that turned up. What little flesh there was had been virtually destroyed by some water attack. When I suggested to the waitress that it was inedible, she offered me a sandwich...
