Stayed 3 nights with my wife for a short birthday trip. Chose it because it was in the trendy Ximending district and the good price on offer. Stayed in their Premier room, which costs only a few bucks more than their cheapest room. Room layout is unique in the sense that you have an individual fully enclosed shower stall and toilet stall that open up into the main room. There is a center console in the middle of the room that encompasses a sink, fridge and storage. Essentially it maximizes room space. I liked it. Beds were on the stiff side, as this is essentially North Asia. If you want soft beds in the region go with an American chain. TV was above average. It had some IPTV app running on it and had access to decent TV channels and movies. You can log on to your Netflix and Youtube account but I couldnt be bothered. Wifi was adequate. For once I didn't measure it but I never lagged while watching videos. All-in-all the Pros far outweigh the cons for this hotel. This is probably my new go-to hotel if I am only traveling with one companion. Pros- 1. Location! I have a rule when staying in Asia. My hotel has to be within a stone's throw from a) the MRT b) a convenience store and c) a massage parlor. In this case, the hotel passes with flying colors in all 3 categories. The MRT is seconds away. The whole of Ximending is literally around the corner and all of it is your convenience store. There are easily half a dozen massage parlors within a 5 minute or less. More restaurants and food stalls and shops within a minute's walk than you shake a stick at. 2. Friendly staff. You don't always get this and they aren't out for a tip. 3. Breakfast was included in our package. A simple mix of western and Chinese dishes. 4. Room noise isolation was adequate. 5. Somehow the staff found out I was here for my Birthday (from my passport at a guess) and they sent a handwritten note with some sweets. Nice touch. 6. Free minibar but limited to water and a couple of sodas (which they replenished, though). 7. They are very serious about keeping their rooms smoke free. Cons - 1. Check-in was at 3pm. Some hotels are earlier and many hotels let you check in if the room is available. In our case we didnt mind since there is a lot to do in the neighborhood while they keep your luggage for you. 2. You can get a bigger room for the money in other districts, but for Ximending, this is a good deal. 3. No couch (to be fair, maybe not enough room). 4. Most room have no view at all, though I imagine it keeps the noise down. 4. No luggage caddy/tray even though there was definitely room for this.

This hotel was a great find in a convenient location. The hotel is conveniently located adjacent to Exit 6 of Ximen MRT station, which gives you quick access to the blue and green lines, and is one stop away from major connections such as airport MRT, red MRT Line. Proximity to MRT is not only convenient from a transportation stand point but also a reliable ATM, EasyCard/iCash top-up/inquiry point (was even closer than the three 7-elevens within 200m). The hotel itself has a luxurious feel, you’ll be quickly met by a friendly concierge happy to help you as you come and go. Staff are helpful in making suggestions on what to do and where to eat (I generally had a plan to attend night markets). Our room was clean and for the most part comfortable. The thermostat seemed to be happiest at 22°C which honestly felt a tad warm at night, it was harder to get the room cooler. Daily housekeeping means fresh linens and a replenishing of room amenities. Conveniently there is also one coin operated washer & dryer for guest use. Staff are able to facilitate change and laundry powder/fabric softener if you did not bring your own. I had the unfortunate circumstance of requesting a late checkout just prior to lunar new year, and unfortunately staff were not able to accommodate. However they were happy to store our bags for the day as my departing flight was in the evening.

Very disappointed of this hotel. I use to stay at this hotel whenever I come to Taipei. I book 2 room for the same price and same type of it for this trip. When I check in I notice one of the room is sightly smaller and the layout is different. As I know is holiday season and understand for the hotel is busy and I just accept it and not even ask the hotel why. On the check out that day, We going to exstand the hotel due to my son having fever. I go to the lobby to ask to exstand my room and they tell me I can’t. Onli can exstand one room which is the smaller room. I ask to keep the biggest room but they tell me I can’t cose got people book that room. Totally is unacceptable. I book the 2 room at the same price and I can’t choose the biggest room to exstand it. If the 2 room is same why can’t I so call choose the biggest room.

The best part of the hotel are the staff! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 We wish to compliment the very good experience we had at your hotel during our recent stay. The staff were so friendly, helpful and hospitable to us and they truly deserve to be mention, especially to Front Desk Ms Kathy and Mr Rafa who were very hardworking and always so eager to please your guests and they truly go beyond their way to make everything extra special. We stayed at the suite and rooms were comfy big and spacious with complimentary snacks and mini bar. Breakfast was good as well. Very accessible and convenient.

Location was the best, along the main street of Ximending. Stayed at the top 11th floor with a perfect view of the adjacent Partyworld and street view. The room was spick and span and spacious. Shower experience was good. Beds were comfy. Breekie selection was excellent as well. Definitely worth the stay/the splurge/the indulgence.

I had booked a deluxe room with city view for 4 nights, including breakfast. Let me start with the negatives, to get that out of the way: After about 36 hours worth of longhaul travel I arrived at 10 in the morning at the hotel. The officlal room check-in time is 3pm. Obviously a very long time if you're as exhausted as I was. Turns out, my room was unoccupied the night before and would have been available, except hotel policy is that you can't check-in early. So, exhausted me had to wait 5 hours to access a room that was empty in the meantime. Blew my mind and kind of spoiled the hotel for me for the rest of the stay. Other issue, the shower head in the bathroom isn't stationary, and kind of directs water in any possible direction except where you'd like it. The room had a musty smell to it despite the air-conditioning running non-stop. Not great. It would have been nice to have fresh fruit juice available for breakfast as opposed to what was on offer. For the positives: The room was very clean and (with the exception of the showerhead) very functional. There was filter coffee available, which is great, as well as a few complimentary soft drinks and water. The bed had a firm mattress which worked very well for me, but might not be for everyone. Every staff member was wonderfully professional. It's been a pleasure interacting with every single one of them. The breakfast buffet was on the satisfactory/good side of things. There were plenty of mostly hot and cold tasty Asian dishes, as well as fruit, salads, and cereals. The espresso maker churned out drinkable coffee! There's a small but functional gym on site. The location of the hotel is unbeatable, around the corner from Ximen MRT station, close to the markets and shops in this bustling shopping area, as well as to a bunch of LGBTQ bars and restaurants around the iconic Red House. So, absent the inhospitable check-in policy, I'd stay here again.

Easily the best budget hotel have stayed in anywhere in the world. The service of the staff is 5 star. Friendly and helpful. Most staff spoke English or would find another staff member asap to assist if they couldn't. The rooms are compact but very very clean and great attention to detail on the finishes. Provide free water bottles and 2 free softdrinks. They only have shower gel and shampoo so recommend you bring conditioner if you use. Breakfast is a very good spread covering western and Asian tastes. And real coffee machines. They have a useful laundry room and will provide free powder from reception. The location can't be beaten right next to Ximen metro and shopping streets/ markets. Also easy location to catch buses. Will recommend to anyone staying in Taipei!!

Excellent location, super friendly staff, extremely helpful concierge service. All the staff are very attentive and welcoming. It may not be the cheapest hotel but definitely the best service hotel I have encountered. Stayed on level 7th with window view. Booked two rooms. One room was smaller than the other. The shower and toilet are separate with no locks. There’s no hook in the shower cubicle to hang clothes but do have a wooden sliding door to separate the bed and the basin area. Breakfast was decent, no complain.

My second stay here. Booked it because of the convenience - it is just steps away from Ximen station and Ximending. Service level is also high. What is odd however, is the room layout. The toilet and the shower area are separate, which is fine, but there are no hooks in the shower area to put your clothes. It can be really awkward if you are traveling with someone you don't know that well. I suppose you can request to change room but we were too lazy to do so.

The best hotel in the area! Just steps away from Ximen Station and Ximending shopping district. The front line staff were nothing short of excellent. Very courteous and helpful. They greet you every single time. They get the doors for you and even book taxis for you! Check in and check out was a breeze, literally just a few minutes and you’re done! The best experience so far in Taiwan for us.
