We had a fantastic stay here. We stayed for 3 nights during our honeymoon. We arrived quite late on the first night but received a warm welcome before being shown our room and then went for communal dinner. It was a great opportunity to meet...More
We stayed 3 nights on our tour. It's a peaceful place,a bit hard to find but worth it. The hot water bottles in the bed gave us a fright as we thought it was a snake! I loved the fact there were no TVs in...More
We stayed here while travelling South Africa on our honeymoon. It's amazing and one of the best places we stayed. The staff couldn't do enough for us and were very friendly. The lady on reception even gave us a map to our next location as...More
We stayed at Hog Hollow for 2 nights during our honeymoon adventure around SA.
The views from the main lodge and from your room deck are really stunning. The pool area is lovely and well maintained - the water was freezing so we didn't manage...More
We loved Hog Hollow in every respect. Entering the grounds was like leaving the "real world" to go on retreat in a beautiful, green, leafy paradise. The staff were amazing - friendly, helpful & nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was clean,...More

Although we are surrounded by nature, we don't often see snakes at the lodge, they are actually shy creatures and tend to prefer not to be near humans and stay out of your way. However, if you let me know what dates you'll be coming we'll make sure everything is double-checked and we will always have someone on hand to assist if you feel nervous.
Don't let that put you off coming to this amazing country, you are more likely to have your toast stolen by a naughty Vervet monkey on the deck in the morning than see a snake.
I am sure the thought of this will give you the heebie-jeebies, but there is an amazing sanctuary for snakes called Lawnwood, and they have the most remarkable programme where they show you around their facility and they really do put snakes into perspective.
Feel free to contact me directly and we can chat.
I do hope that helps you a little
