If you are looking to book a vacation in Cuba, this is the spot. My husband and I came here for our honeymoon, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better vacation. The resort is very modern and the rooms are beautiful. We had an ocean view room which was amazing to wake up to every morning. The beach is stunning, the soft white sand and blue water was everything we hoped for. We couldn’t get enough of it! The food was fine, not 5-star restaurant quality, but it wasn’t bad either. There’s plenty of options, even with the various shortages Cuba is experiencing. I heard people complaining about no eggs, no toilet paper, no cola, etc. We had toilet paper but we packed our own just in case, and we brought it on our excursions. There were eggs the last few days of our trip, but I honestly don’t see why people fuss so much about it when they didn’t have them. We had lots of mix and drink options, however the pool bar would run out by the afternoon most days, so just keep that in mind. The staff were friendly, and I’m guessing the people who write on here saying otherwise are the ones we’ve seen complaining about anything and everything and being rude to staff. We did the catamaran and a valentines sunset cruise, and had a lobster meal on the beach at One Gallery both times and it was delicious! We also did the jeep tour and the Remedios tour and really enjoyed them. We would recommend each one for a more involved trip. The entertainment was great, we loved the Michael Jackson show and the dancers were great. The entertainment staff were amazing, they were so fun and engaging and my husband and I usually joined in the beach and pool activities. We want to give a special shoutout to one of the staff who made our trip the most memorable, and that is Mich (Michel). Mich spoke to us on the beach on our first day, and we would chat with him everyday after that. He was always excited to see us, and we looked forward to seeing him each day. Mich is great at his job and always put on fun and entertaining activities on the beach and by the pool. More than that, Mitch is a lovely human with such a big heart, and we know our trip wouldn’t have been the same if we hadn’t met him. Mich, we’re so happy we met you and got to enjoy your company during our trip. Keep being amazing, and we will see you again, amigo! 💙

I have just returned from my trip at this resort and it was an amazing experience and a lot of fun thanks to an amazing new friend made who works in the entertainment side of this resort - MICH! Mich brought a lot of enjoy and fun to this visit. He had introduced himself on the first day of the vacation and that he works the beach from 10AM to 1PM and then the pool from 3PM to 5PM and that you can catch all the activities and competitions they have during these times. Mich always greets you with his kind smile and made the resort feel like a home. He shared with us his love for his job, and you can definitely tell from how well he delivers everything at the beach, the pool and at night during the evening shows! If you get the chance to ever meet Mich, you can catch him roaming the beaches walking and talking with the tourists and making sure they have what they need and advertising the entertainment schedule. I had the pleasure of getting to know that he is an avid chess player and if you get the chance, I recommend taking on this chess champion who has competed competitively in his province in Cuba. He is very good but is too humble to agree, so please, ask him if he would like to play a round of chess, he got the best of me, but maybe the next visitor can get him! As long as MICH is at this resort, will recommend to friends and family to visit here and you can bet I will definitely be seeing where Mich is so I can return to this very kind and caring young man.

We travelled as a couple for a much needed getaway. We had a fantastic vacation, more of a breakdown below. We loved this resort, fantastic beach, very comfortable, and the people made it a special trip for us. Before going into detail, if you are considering this trip I have one question for you. Have you been to Cuba before? If you have and enjoyed it, you will most certainly love this resort. If it's your first time, I advise do your research and make sure this is the trip for you. The Travel We travelled with Sunwing, got a great price for a week long vacation. Having used Sunwing before, we knew to expect being crowded in the plane, but it was on time and good service. The hour and a half bus shuttle was in the dark on the way there, which is too bad because its an interesting ride and the causeway is beautiful. The Room On arrival walking into the room was an immediate wow from us. The room was large, beautiful, and very comfortable. If you want to look hard, there are little paint drips or scuffs in varnish, but if you're looking for this stuff you are in the wrong place. There is a mini safe and mini fridge, which was supplied with a large water bottle and replaced when necessary. We've stayed in some nice Cuban resorts and this was the nicest room we've been in. The Food We found good food at every meal. There are shortages, we only saw eggs once and bacon once, and there was no champagne all week, and most meals were chicken or fish based. Breakfasts were the most challenging but the fruit is delicious, yoghurt smoothies every day, and crepe and pancake cooking stations (bring syrup). You will see things you might not associate with breakfast, don't focus on that and enjoy the great food that is there. We had many good meals at the buffet. If you don't see anything you want in the hot trays, go to the cooking stations. We had fantastic fish, chicken, squid, salads, and more. The A La Cartes were very good. With Sunwing we got three, and chose the Itallian, Steakhouse, and Mediterranean. Itallian was good, chicken and seafood pasta. The Steakhouse was nice, chicken again and pork that was really good. The Mediterranean was the best, we both had the Land and Sea entree, lobster tail and roast beef, so good! We didn't try the grill lunch or the snack bar. The Grounds We were in building 5, which we think was the prime location. It was a very short walk to the beach and quieter pool. We spent almost all of our time at the beach, though the pool was refreshing and seemed fine. We didn't go to the activity pool, but the music was pumping and we saw the foam party. The beach is incredible, with lots of room for beach walks or sunning. At one end there is a little rocky outcrop, where lots of fish hang out if you like snorkeling. There are so so many shells if that is your thing too. Most Importantly, The People I saved the best for last, the people. We met and received fantastic service from several people working at the resort. Our friend Jared in the buffet really went out of his way, having a table and drinks ready for us every meal. He would make sure to do little extras to put a smile on our face or to make our buffet experiences feel really special. We would actually look forward to our buffet meals just as much as the A La Cartes. Our friend bartending at the bar at the grill was also great. We'd have good conversations sharing bits about both of our homes and cultures. There were so many others that work hard to give you a good experience. The only real time we would have to wait for a drink or something, it wasn't for lack of effort, but maybe a bit understaffing (mostly lobby bar area). Wrapping up, if you've been to Cuba and want another great Cuban holiday, here you can experience the nicest beach at a beautiful resort. If you havn't but this sounds like something you'd like, do your research and if it sounds like it's for you, this is a great spot in Cuba.

We had a great experience at the Grand Sirenis at Cayo Santa Maria. We travelled the first week of February 2024. We travelled in a large group of family and friends. I will review each area. Most important is the FOOD - I wasn't expecting the food to be good, but to my surprise, there were so many food options. We had chicken, fish and pork during our stay. They did run out of eggs at breakfast for a few days but had this dehydrated egg mix. I did try it, it was ok. But there were so many other options to choose from. We never went hungry. My only issue was the long wait times for the stations (the grilling station, egg station for example, you had to wait quite some time) But if you didn't want to wait, there were lots of good and tasty food options. We brought with us some hot sauce, ketchup, mayo, maple syrup and peanut butter, which was great, as they don't have these in Cuba. Snack Bar - snack bar food was good. Not too many options. We didn't have any french fries, but they offered, burgers, chicken sandwich, tuna sandwich, cheese sandwich and hotdog sandwiches. My only complaint with this was the wait time. There is no buffet option here so you have to sit and wait for your food. TIP - pack some extra snacks for yourself and the kids so you don't have to wait. We brought cookies, crackers, cheese, meats and chips. Bar - make sure you bring travel mugs with you. The cups are so small and you would constantly be re-filling. Coffee was amazing, try the ice coffee! Beach - the beach is stunning, no issues here! Lots of chairs to sit in Hotel Room - Rooms are clean and bright and modern. Beds were comfortable and so were the pillows. We had an oceanview room. It was great. We also had toilet paper, some resorts near by, didn't have any. Pool - We didn't spend much time at the pool because the beach is so beautiful. There are 2 pools, one that is quiet and one that is more upbeat and fun. They play games by the pool, it was a great time! they were also pretty clean. If you want a chair by the pool, make sure you go early, as there isn't enough. Amazing Staff - I want to shout out a few staff that made our stay so amazing! Pedro at customer service, always making sure we were well taken care of! Cindy, Javier and Vania from the buffet, always make sure our families had a place to eat! The extra love and attention from this staff made our stay so enjoyable! Airport TIP - bring some kleenex or toilet paper - they ran out when we were there! **One piece of advice! Make sure to pack some extra supplies for the Cuban people. They are so appreciative. We brought extra clothes, shoes, purses, toiletries, women's sanitary, toothbrushes, chocolates and medicines! If you have any extra to spare, it goes a long way!!

First things first. Alex the beach bartender is the absolute best to not only me, but all of my friends. He was kind, funny, and mixed the best drinks we could have asked for. I have been to so many resorts in the past and he was our favourite (from -E), creating a drink for us called the "Alex E'special". That aside I will give you a breakdown of our experience. preamble: This was our third trip to Cuba, previously at Grand Memories (Cayo Santa Maria) in 2017 and Paradisio (Veradero) last year. This was our favourite Cuba resort. With everything, before you book your trip know what you are getting yourself into. Many of the negative reviews seem to be coming from those that don't understand value for dollar. Beaches: Best beach you can imagine. In fact the pictures did not due it justice. As a tip if you snorkel directly out from the bar about 100m (90 degrees from yellow building resort to west) you will find an incredible mini reef. An 'older' couple (jk) showed us this on our trip. Second, if adventurous, you walk all the way east you will come across an abandoned resort with cats you can feed. Next, we used the Catamaran for two days with friends, and we were accompanied by Raul. He was incredible, polite, courteous, and took us snorkeling to the far east tip of the beach where there was another reef. This was technically 'free' but we tipped $10 a person as it was only fair and so much cheaper than the marine catamaran that costs hundreds. Food: Wow, what an improvement. No longer can you really make fun of cuban food. Whomever they hired as chef, congratulations. This was the first time we all agreed that the food was well done for a resort this size with chicken, beef, fish, pork and one night even steak that would rival 'The Keg' (no joke). Our room was always very clean and the staff were always very friendly and kind, despite having to put up with our group. This was the best Cuban resort we have been to out of the three. If you know what you're getting yourself into, I highly recommend it.

This was my fourth visit to Grand Sirenis, it has become like visiting family. Pedro from customer service was there to greet us giving us excellent service and welcoming us back to the resort. Our rooms were clean and we received a welcome back message from the hotel. Jennifer at the lobby bar was there most days to get our cappuccinos and drinks through the day. Jesus our cook was excited to see us and came out to hug us. Every morning he made our days with his sense of humor. Patchy the customer service manager checked with us everyday to make sure we were taken care of. Micheal Jackson show is a must to see. Yosvai really becomes Michel in his show. The people of Grand Sirenis really make our vacation feel like visiting family. Love the resort and love the cuban people that make our vacation special.

This vacation was wonderful! The resort was clean, the staff were friendly and the food was pretty good and could always find something to eat. The reason we chose Cuba, particularly Santa Maria was the sun and beaches and it did not disappoint ! There was one staff member who went above and beyond. He always remembered us and took the time to treat us like his Canadian family! That was 5 star treatment! His name is Jared. He deserves a raise for sure. Thank you to the staff at the grand sirenis resort for a wonderful break away from our Canadian winter and thank you Jared for all the extra things you did to ensure we had an amazing time ☀️☀️☀️

It was our fourth trip to this hotel. We were there for 14 days. As always we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All the staff is absolutely amazing. From the servers in the buffet, Magdiel at the grill and everyone in the lobby bar and snack bar they work incredibly hard to ensure you enjoy your trip. Pedro and Yinet from Public Relations are always there to help with concerns or answer any questions you may have. The entertainment team is the best of every resort Ive ever been to. They are always present and giving all their energy to provide exciting entertainment and engage the guests. Thank you to Angel, Pablo, Mich, Cesar, Hansel, Lester, Carlos, Lauren, Yosvani, Annie, and Carlitos and bosses Yuslemy, and Raul. For always making sure we have the best trip and treating us like family. The food was good considering the shortages and although repetitive at times, there was always more than enough. The only thing I hope changes is that they open the Thematic Bar on the resort and bring back the beach party as we really missed being able to party at night at the resort. As always we are looking forward to returning.
