We paid for 2 nights in advance and chose not to stay(too creepy). No compensation was given and we couldn't leave soon enough. Peter and Ulla were away for an extended period and the place shows a lack of care. The smells in the room and reception were awful. The activity in the courtyard was lacking: no horses or people....

Spent an excellent weekend here. Enjoyed the peace and the views of Lough Sheelin. Meals were excellent and was made to feel at home. Riding lesson was one of the best i ever had and i learnt a lot as a novice rider. Cant wait to go back

This was such a nice and relaxing environment with old time charm! We were not originally looking for the equestrian experience but being on this ranch with some of the horses greeting us in the early morning as they walked around the pasture area right outside our window was amazing. The white walls with the checkered drapes and the horse...

1973 I visited Ireland for the first time. Since then I`ve been back countless times and I think it was in 1995 that I discovered "Ross House" this wonderful Country Accomodation.I have come here alone, with friends, with my adult children (one at a time)to show them what I love. This time I came again with my wife and one of...

My wife says it reminded her of the movie Pride and Prejudice. The place overlooks a lake and is very picturesque with all the horses in the field. We took a nice ride one day and enjoyed it very much. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

My friends and I spent a great couple of days here with our own horses. Yes its not Castle Leslie but for what we wanted it was brilliant. The horses were well catered for (haylage bit wet but my horse not fussy!), facilities eg outdoor school and indoor excellent . We had a group lesson from Ellinor which was excellent,...

The room was cold stone. After difficulty finding the site, check in was incomplete. We asked about dinner options and were told to travel another 45 minutes away. We did not have dinner that night as we were tired of driving. We wanted to rent a boat but learned it was $50. Horses were pretty but we did not ride....

Dear Horse Lovers, I am sorry that we did not meet your expectations. At warm days our central heating controlled by outside sensor switches off. If some of the rooms inside the very thick cut stone walls do not get enough heat it means we have been trying too hard to economise. Please accept our apologies. Did we increase the...

This animal friendly property (horses, dogs and cats everywhere), is in a very, very rural location and on the banks of the lough. Very, very quiet and might not be suitable for everybody. There is a great deal of very beautiful countryside surrounding this property which occupies a small corner on the border of Counties Cavan, Meath and Westmeath. The...

Very shabby, hard to find, overpriced - at 50.00 per night and an additional 7.50 for a hot breakfast - this is just NOT worth the money, bedrooms old and musty, place untidy, yards run down and grounds could do with a good gardener . Got lost and when we phoned, the owner was less than friendly, nearly took our...

Dear disappointed guest, we are very sorry that we did not meet your expectations. To run a yard with 80 horses and a building of the 17th century with 25 rooms including 7 guestrooms is not always easy. Of course this is no concern of yours and is no excuse, it is meant as an explanation only. Better road signs...
