A lovely experience staying at The Old Oak! Two of us stayed two nights in the Totara studio and had no complaints about its size. The room was well fitted out, extremely clean with excellent facilities, and Jean really made us feel welcome at the beautiful hotel. The location is convenient for day trips further up north, or south or...

Old Oak is immaculate and brilliantly managed . We had the top two suites with views - lovely accommodation and very comfortable . Not for those on s tight schedule - wandering 300 m along the road for breakfast - bug very well placed for amazing beaches. We loved it !

My wife and I had an extremely comfortable three night stay in the Pohutukawa Suite at the Old Oak Boutique Hotel. A modern fit out, and spotless room, in an historic building with our own garden courtyard and sea view, was magic! The magic was enhanced by the courtesy and charm of Simon and Kiyo. As hosts they are the...

This was our second stop for two nights, part of an extended 6 1/2 week holiday to New Zealand. It is a lovely house and Simon & Kiyo were very friendly and helpful, we stayed in the Tui & Kauri garden studios and both were very clean and big with lots of room. I would highly recommend that you stay...

We have been so impressed with this Hotel, and its Managers. We initially booked for 2 nights, then extended to 3 then 4 nights. There is plenty to do locally in a picturesque and tranquil location. Simon could not have been more helpful with great suggestions and tips to meet our needs and expectations. The rooms are comfortable and really...

As a lover of heritage accommodation, The Old Oak Boutique Hotel was an obvious choice on our trip around the North Island. We had an upstair suite with a queen bed and smaller rear single bedroom with modern bathroom and kitchen - a lovely comfy stay in a Grand Old Lady - love to see old buildings restored and utilised....

Tiny but classy, The Old Oak is exactly as pictured on it's website. Our room was extremely clean with beautiful hardwood floors, attractive furnishings and a very well stocked kitchen. We stayed in the Pohutukawa Suite and the outside balcony with table, chairs and lounge chairs directly on the garden was a huge plus. Plenty of parking and a great...

What a lovely hotel and with delightful managers Simon and Kiyomi. We stayed for two nights, my wife and I and our adult daughter so the suite was just perfect with two bedrooms, a sitting room with adequate kitchen facilities and a balcony overlooking the water. The hosts are unassuming but really helpful if needed. One delightful touch was Kiyomi...

This tiny old hotel was a real find for us. The town of Mangonui in New Zealand's North was fabulous. Beautifully renovated, with modern tasteful fittings this little historic hotel was a real gem. We chose the loveliest room upstairs on the corner with a wrap around verandah. It was called the Ponga. It gave us a lovely view of...

We loved the place! The fantastic old building combined with beautiful modern decor and great attention to detail was just perfect for us. We stayed in the Ponga suite which had a lovely sitting room separate to the bedroom and a wrap around balcony, as well as a little kitchen area where we were able to prepare our breakfasts and...
