The Monte Selva Hotel holds a strategical position, being in the plains of Navelli, widely known for the production of Saffron, and surrounded by medieval castles and ruins of Roman cities like Peltuinum and the vast necropolis discovered near Capestrano. Here a famous statue of an Italic Warrior, dated back to the sixth century B.C., was discovered. Being between the southern entrance of the Gran Sasso e Monti Della Laga National Park and the northern entrance of the Velino-Sirente Regional Park

What a wonderful experience! The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and fast, and the price was great too! The owner, Alessandro, was gracious and speaks excellent English. Must return soon!! Make sure you try the baccala (cod) and the arrosticini!

We enjoyed a perfect 3 generations family stay here, visiting our daughter nearby. The family-run hotel is clean, welcoming and very friendly. English is spoken. We ate several evenings in the restaurant hotel and the food is excellent. The restaurant Is popular with locals, business people and holiday- makers.
Its location near the road from Rome to Pescara was easy to access and a perfect base for visiting the Grand Sasso National Park - an area of outstanding beauty.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for value for money, excellent food and helpful service.
Thank you Alessandra, Alessandro and staff.

I was there last Thursday and I had a very great dinner. The menu is varied and the climate is very cosy and familiar. The treathment of the man working was excellent.
I recommend 100% this hotel-restaurant.

This hotel was chosen due to it's proximity to Rocca Calascio and the town of Santo Stefano di sessanio while we were on the way to Rome. The room was basic but big enough for one double and one single bed. Bathroom was kind of small but the view out of the window was pretty nice with the snow cap mountains. We had lunch and dinner in the restaurant that seemed to be popular with the locals. Local pasta and the hot spinach were nice, pretty impressed with the cod fish cooked in 3 ways - grilled, fried and with tomatoes sauce.

Although the staff is kind and helpful and the breakfast is discreet and well organised, there are 3 critical issues which are not insignificant: 1) the hotel is located directly on the state road, therefore the noise of the cars can be heard from the room; 2) there is no air conditioning in the rooms but a very noisy fan (just as deafening as the bathroom fan); 3) the rooms are located on the first floor without a lift

Honest price, young and very friendly staff, the room was perfect, clean and well kept, comfortable bed, the restaurant isn't bad either, we had two very good pizzas from a wood oven, the only thing that disappointed me was the breakfast , which is brought to the table, 1 empty croissant per person to be filled with Nutella or jam, 3 strips of tart, a basket with packaged snacks and biscuits, two fruit juices to drink and a choice of coffee, cappuccino, milk etc.
For breakfast a little sparse but above all only sweet things...

We chose the hotel during a holiday in the area. Dinner, bed and breakfast.
Dinner: as described by previous reviews, the cuisine has its own reason, on the contrary.
Overnight stay: we were doubtful about the choice given the proximity to a very busy road, but our rest was continually disturbed by the barking of dogs in the area.
Breakfast: and here's the fun part... We go down and find the lady who is washing the floors... We sit in the room and the same lady, without even taking off her gloves, serves us breakfast.... between us we look at each other, we look at each other he comes close to the idea of getting up and leaving.... We eat two things and refuse the offered drinks... We're not quite there
