pandan island is a gem of a place..very laid back and chill. although we only stayed for the day, we've been graced with the presence of ms. marina AND a brahminy kite..the hammocks scattered around the perimeter were very charming and only a very strong person would not give in..drinks are available at the bar just felt bad that they...

I've been here a lot of times, but don’t seem to get tired of the place. The beach has this powdery white sand where you can enjoy playing with the kids or just sit on the sand. I also enjoyed swimming in their clear waters. Trekking to the Wild Lagoon and the Spanish Nose will take a few sweats from...

If you want air conditioning and a hot shower you are going to be disappointed. If you want to look out your mosquito net and watch the sunrise from your wicker hut like us you will have a smile on your face. The sunrise was spectacular, the local reefs were the healthiest I have ever seen. Food is more than...

The island is fantastisc, a dream of trees and sand with beautiful diving directly around (lots of turtles to be seen even whilst snorkeling) and first class diving at Apo Reef (sharks, barracudas, and much more). Some weaker points: It is a long way from Manila (minimum time with own car was nine hours one way). The hotel services themselves...

We went there just to relax, have good lunch and good drinks. It's self service and that is ok. I'm the last from my group to order food. I ordered chicken adobo. They said they'll just include it in my group's order list. Getting really hungry, my friends decided to check if the food is ready. Fortunately, the food is...

Budget room 800php Its compulsory to have the buffet lunch which is 470php but it includes soup, salad, multiple mains, fruit and desert and is delicious. Great place for families, couples and divers. An adventure to get to (without being too arduous) and a paradise when there. I flew to San Jose and got the Dimple Star bus up to Sablyan - it was all pretty painless. This is the only resort on the island and has an intimate feel, with an honesty bar and basic...

The place is magic,.. Not for people who expect high end luxury. But amazing value for money. And a dream for anyone who wants a taste of adventure and who loves the sea. The perfect hub to dive apo reef. Great dive shop,.. Amazing snorkling in front of your cottages,.. The owners can be proud on protecting the corals around...

I have stayed at Pandan Island many times, and I will for sure come back. The food in the restaurant is good. Very good. The bar is nice. The beach is wonderful, and even if you don't dive, it is possible to sea giant sea turtles while snorkeling. They are close, and they're always there. The Island is small, and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Pandan Island is a private island with a small resort on the West coast of Occidental Mindoro, Central Philippines.Since the island was 'discovered' and the resort established in 1986 by a French adventurer, this tropical island retreat has been voted time and again as one of the top resorts in the Philippines, not in terms of luxury (we do not have air-conditioned rooms, room service or cable television networks on the island) but for it's life close to nature and it's personalized atmosphere. Pandan Island is for people who like to spend time in tropical surroundings where you are woken up by the singing of colorful birds, where there is only a palm tree between you and the sea, where you still know your neighbors. All bungalows are built in native materials, like coconut lumber, bamboo, sawali, cogon grass to let them blend easily into their tropical surroundings. Care has been taken to provide a simple yet comfortable atmosphere with a maximum of privacy for all who need to get away from hectic life. Since all the electricity on the island is provide by a solar system our bungalows do not have air-con or fans.T he bungalows are built directly by the sea separated from the beach only by palm trees and / or bougainvillea bushes with the breeze from the sea providing for ventilation. Each house has its private gecko (lat. gecko gecko) that is believed to bring good luck to the house it inhabits.Besides spending your day in a hammock or exploring the few secluded beaches, we offer a wide range of activities to choose from. Scuba Diving in the coral gardens around Pandan or around the nearby Apo Reef is the most popular and exciting activity to engage in but we also offer you the possibility to explore the jungle rivers of nearby Mindoro by kayak or visit the small coastal town of Sablayan and meet its friendly inhabitants. However you choose to spend your vacation, our staff will do their utmost to make your stay on Pandan Island a relaxing or adventurous experience. ... more   less
