Last July we spent beautiful week in one of the most picturesque corners of Italy. If you want to explore Cinque Terre – to walk through its coastline from Riomaggiore to Monterosso, to stop in each of the 5 main villages and to adapt to the local rhythm of life (of course, I don't speak about the crowds of tourists,... The apartment is nice, it is big, comfortable, has a perfectly equipped kitchen and a beautiful garden. But what really makes this place special are Marco and Marta. They welcome you as family and if they have time Marco even takes you to the vineyards and for a boat trip. It was amazing to get to know this gorgeous town... More

What a way to start our Ligurian experience with a stay at Il Carugio. From the very first meeting with Martha and Marco to the very clean apartment to the warm send off we felt very well taken care of during our stay. Inbetween we made short or long daytrips in the surroundings and ate good food at the restaurant... More

We just came back from our 1 week vacation here at Il Carugio. It was one of the best vacations that we had. Very nice people, good conditions, just excellent. The area is also very beautiful and full of things to do. About the food...if you are a fan of sea food and fish you are in the perfect place.... More

Marta, Marco and Serena made us feel as though we were the most important guests they have ever had. Reading other reviews, it is clear that all their guests receive this VIP treatment. All three came down to meet us at the bus and helped transport us with chattels up to their lovely apartment in the picturesque little mountain village... More

In May 2012, my husband and I spent three nights at Il Carugio. Serena, Andreas and Marta are fabulous hosts. We arrived at night, late, and they patiently waited for us. They walked us to the appartment, where we found a bottle of wine, that Serena's dad had made, and a vase full of lovely flowers. We were celebrating our... More

I visited Cinque Terre for the first time in April 2012 with my family. The area lived up to and probably exceeded my expectations. The only regret I have is that we did not spend long enough in the area. We stayed in Il Carugio for 2 nights. We were welcomed on arrival by Marta and Serena and Andrea. Such... More

There aren't enough positive adjectives to describe our hosts Marta, Marco, and Serena and their wonderful apartment in beautiful Volastra. From the moment we arrived, they took up under their wing and made our four day stay with them something we will always treasure - from Marco's meeting us in Manarola and Serena's driving us up to Volastra with a... We arrived in Cinque Terre to be greeted by Marco and Marta's daughter Serena. She was so genuinely kind and immediately showed us around Manarola. This kind of service did not end, we were literally pampered throughout our 4 days in Volastra. Marco and Marta were truly the best of hosts, helping us with restaurant recommendations/reservations, and it wasn't uncommon... More

There are 2 main reasons to stay in this apartment - Volastra is a beautiful base away from all the tourist craze of the other towns but centrally located for hiking, and the wonderful family of Marco, Marta, and Serena who really make sure your stay is a special one. Excursions on their small fishing boat and up the mountains... More
