So nearly a lovely boutique hotel. The room we stayed in was comfortable, clean and authentically furnished. Stella the receptionist was delightful and very welcoming. The reason I haven’t given top marks was due to the lack of attention to detail. We had no glasses in the room and despite asking for some none arrived. The bed was made but nothing else had been cleaned. The towels could have been folded and the empty shampoo bottles cleared from the shower room. We asked for two glasses of wine but they never arrived, The breakfast was nice but not special and we ate in the hotel our first night which was a big mistake. Apart from the Greek salad everything else was really not good. I was recommended the garlic pasta and the squid with lentils but I would not advise eating.

This hotel is in a lovely position close to one of the main beaches with a great beach bar but it fell short of a good review purely from the attention to detail.

A magical place. Set at an easy 10/15 minute walk into Lakka and around a 30 minute walk to Loggos. Many different beaches in easy walking distance (we didn’t rent a car and felt we were able to explore a lot of the island from this hotel as a base). Buses stop outside the hotel which were easy to flag down to get to Gaios and on to Antipaxos, which we would thoroughly recommend for the day.

The hotel itself is beautiful. The rooms spotless and well designed, the grounds are beautiful - olive groves and flowers everywhere. It is a truly magical place. The infinity pool was lovely, clean, never busy. Not a huge amount of rooms which for us was perfect, quiet without feeling empty even out of season. Breakfast was delicious and made to order. Everything was taken care of as soon as you requested it - taxis, tips for local areas, etc.

But what really makes this place is the staff. Everyone is so unbelievably lovely and kind and welcoming. They are always smiling, always say hello, are helpful and warm without being overbearing. We both said as we were leaving that it felt like we were leaving family. And that is really what makes this place so magical.

We will miss the cat who entertained everyone each morning.

The best negronis in Paxos and all of Greece too!

We will return soon and can’t wait.

Amazing views and a really peaceful place to lie by the pool, felt like we were out in the countryside. At the same time it was only a 15 minute walk from the centre (although the walk back is uphill!)

We tried the half board menu on one of the evenings and it was really nicely cooked and very tasty. We also enjoyed the breakfasts each day, particularly the traditional greek pies (if they could do something new each day that would be even better).

The room was really nicely done out inside and had a very luxurious feel. The whole place is very impressive as it has a real sense of history.

We booked at Torri E Merli for a week. The booking.com, trip advisor and Torri E Merli website all boast what a wonderful five star place this is. It’s a fabulous building in a convenient location but the rooms are tired, our bath had peeling paint and the shower was held up with wire. There was a minibar containing a single bottle of wine and a pack of Gouda cheese! There is no bar, no evening restaurant, no complimentary afternoon tea and no buffet breakfast. You are asked to preorder breakfast which is served by George who was the saving grace of our holiday. We complained but were told that they are short staffed and it’s not their fault. It’s basically an expensive glorified bed and breakfast. Better options are available on the island. On our last night I sat on the chair outside our room and a rat ran out under my feet. I reported it yo the staff. We won’t be going back.

I rarely write reviews, however sat on the Ferry back to Corfu having wished we could have stayed longer I felt we must.

This is a small boutique hotel, beautiful grounds with flowers and scents of herbs. There are only a few rooms and that is what makes this place unique. We wanted a quiet base to explore the island from. The room we had I believe was their cheapest but still lovely and very private in its own building!

Panos is the perfect host, welcoming but not over the top, would always book taxis and trips and seemed to work every hour of the day! We had a minor issue and they sorted it as best they could straight away.

George at Breakfast is a star and learns what drinks you like and so on, always happy to have a chat. Fani is lovely and makes always there to meet you with a smile in the afternoon.

We will come back to this hotel in the next year or two and Paxos is the most beautiful place I have ever seen.

We did not eat in the hotel in the evenings as we wanted to spend our evenings out exploring so cannot comment. The menu is small for evening food.

A few tips if you haven’t been to Paxos like us before:

We will rent a car next time, the hotel is a good 15 minute walk up a hill from Lakka and 35 minute walk from Logos, it was not an issue for us but we would have explored further with a car. The roads are not busy or aggressive.

Get Panos to book a boat trip for you. We were apprehensive about taking our own boat out but it was easy and the views of the island and touring the whole Island and Antipaxos was well worth it. We moored up for lunch in Mongonissi and stopped in several covers.

If you want a high end meal go to Taverna Vasillis in Longos then Roxi Bar for drinks.

Be wary of the ferries they are often cancelled due to breakdowns or impacted by the weather. We are on a slow ferry now rather than the Hydrofoil so glad we don’t have a flight but are staying in Corfu. We will book a night in Old Town Corfu either end of the holiday next times we visit so there is no stress!

What a lovely hotel. We were very much made to feel like we were at home.

All the staff are incredibly kind and go the extra mile to make your stay and holiday relaxing and fun. I really cannot underestimate how wonderful they are. We were so sad to leave them all and they were all very sincere.

The facilities are all clean and excellent. We preferred to go to the beaches but the pool is lovely, clean and great if you wish to have that day away from the sea.

Breakfast is delicious and watch out for the little cat who will become your friend the moment you have a meal.

There is a bus stop outside the hotel (albeit the buses run very irregularly). You can walk into Lakka in 10 minutes or Loggos which is more like 30 minutes away. If you are happy with Lakka then you don't need private transport, whereas if you want to explore, I'd advise you rent a car.

We're so happy we chose here. What an Eden we found. We'd happily recommend and return.

This is hotel is situated in beautiful high quality well planned grounds. The rooms were well appointed. We loved the few hard working friendly staff (George & Fanni), breakfast was delicious with a great choice, the bed was seriously comfortable and the pool clean and calm.
However for an international 5 stars we felt there was something missing.
The on wall fittings in the rooms were tired, loose on the wall, the electrics of the exterior lights fused every night, the plug in the bathroom did not work and it felt as though a thorough investment in refreshing these aspects would benefit the hotel.
Our main disappointed was with the restaurant evening meal limitations, no choice for the soup, salad and dessert and only 2 choices for main course. Within a week we had repeats and no fresh fish option at all. We were expecting a more diverse 5 star menu - perhaps the hotel management could rethink a menu with a little more choice.

The beautiful hotel has plenty of character, set in a large olive grove conveniently within walking distance both of Lakka and Loggos. Having only nine rooms it feels very private and personal.

The staff were exceptionally good, friendly, attentive, helpful and always greeted you with a lovely smile. Panos, the manager, and Fanis made sure it was a very special visit

Having just returned from a fantastic 10 night stay at torri e merli we wanted to share our experience.
The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful.
Set in what feels like a secret garden the scent of sage and rosemary is present whilst butterflies constantly dance around, within the garden you will find a beautiful peaceful well maintained pool area which again is very tranquil. The garden room was clean & housekeeping came each day.
We were half board but didn’t eat at the hotel every night but was good to know it was there if needed. Breakfast served on the terrace each morning a very good selection which was table service.
Evening meal was a set menu four courses and again table service.
The staff were all fabulous. Panos the manager was brilliant very professional. Nothing was too much trouble for him he was always present , friendly with a big smile on his face. George bought the humour and again so helpful and Fanis such a credit to the hotel and a great cocktail maker…..
The location was good just a 10 minute walk into lakka and a great base to explore paxos. 10 out of 10 torri we will return.

It is a very nice looking hotel. The staff are very friendly. But it has no atmosphere as a hotel and the food is pretty poor. The half board dinner offering - soup, chicken curry and chocolate cake - is really not up to the standard and expectations of a high class hotel. Neither was the breakfast. Boring muesli and dried fruit. The kitchen is too small. The catering needs urgent attention. No one wants to dine there.
It is a shame and spoils a beautiful looking place with kind, hard-working people

Would we need a car to stay here?
Answer from Torri e M
Lakka
Dear Sir, Good afteroon from Torri e Merli Boutique Hotel and thank you for your message. The Hotel is approximately 10-15 minutes from Lakka Village on foot and Gaios Town is approximately 15 minutes by car. We recommend a car hire in order to be able to exlpore the island ,as there are only five taxis and they might get busy. For any further information you might need, we will be happy to assist you. best regards, Torri e Merli Team

As long as your arrival time is ok, then the taxi to the ferry is max 15 mins. No problem!
