First time (but not the last time!) visitors to Serre des Ormes. We are avid road cyclists (married couple) from the USA who were most fortunate to find a link to the Serre des Ormes in an online article about biking in the Haute Alpes. Paul and Kate are wonderful, incredible, AMAZING hosts and cycling enthusiasts. Our week stay was an absolute dream vacation! The bike routes mapped out by our hosts that leave right from their Inn were perfect for us- as challenging as we wanted, beautiful, few cars. Spectacular- Col Perty from col Muse and col St. Jean loop was my favorite. The lavender fields were spectacular and we were so happy to see them in bloom. Their house and property is incredible and an oasis of beauty pre- and post-ride. Kate is a wonderful gardener and fantastic chef- Paul is no slouch, either! Kate rode with us a couple of days and she and Paul introduced us to the area before turning us loose. What a dream to arise to a cyclist's breakfast- oats, good carbs, fruit, yogurt, an egg and coffee.. lots of coffee. Kate's jams are fantastic and the croissants and breads fresh. The swimming pool is refreshing after a day of riding and views from it are absolute zen. The flowers, bees, lizards, surrounding flora and fauna were incredible. Not to be missed, we went nearby to Ann, a masseuse with the most incredible spa surrounding in the mountains. We also fell in love with La Guingette, an outdoor small cafe, 8 km from the house, with fantastic local based food and brews. We hiked one evening and spectacular views are not hard to find. I'm in love with cycling in this area of France and would return in a heart beat, with a few friends in tow. The 7-night booking with amazing appetizers, wine and dinners prepared fresh for us each night (save one-) made a day of long and (for me) challenging riding perfect for relaxing after without having to go anywhere else. A stay with Paul and Kate is like a stay with close friends - they are very engaging, interesting, and our dinner conversations were much enhanced by their presence. We are truly grateful for the experience and to our fellow US cycling enthusiasts, we cannot recommend a stay highly enough- 10 stars if we could or an Olympic Gold Medal! (an amazing value also- the weekly rate is all inclusive and worth every Euro). Until we meet again, Cheers- Karen and Bill, Salt Lake City, Utah

I just returned from an outstanding one week stay at Serre Des Ormes! Other bike trips have been exhausting staying in different hotels every night and being on a tight schedule. Staying in one place for a week was relaxing. Our hosts Kate and Paul made this a very easy trip as they picked us up and dropped us off in Aix-En-Provence before and after our cycling week, took us to the bike rental shop, uploaded our selected gorgeous daily gps routes, prepared delicious meals. Beautiful lodge! Much preferred the relaxing self paced adventure of exploring on our own rather than guided, tightly structured tours. We were well taken care of! Will return.

I'm just finishing up my week at Serre Des Ormes. It has been an excellent week of good cycling, food, and accommodations. Our hosts, Paul and Kate, helped me and my friends have wonderful adventures in the Alps of the Provence region. If you need to get away on holiday, contact them. I hear that they can also provide similar service to runners and hikers.

We returned again to Serre des Ormes this summer because we had had such a brilliant time last year and we can confirm that it is still just as good as ever. Kate and Paul’s retreat is ideally situated for a very wide range of great cycle routes – lovely quiet roads with some cols that are not quite as daunting as the massive climbs elsewhere in the Alps but which in many ways are much more scenic and varied. Kate and Paul are very welcoming with loads of good ideas for rides, walks, MTB routes and other activities – this means that you can immediately access the best the region has to offer. They helped us enormously when one of our group was injured meaning that the others could continue to enjoy their holiday. The food is very good; fresh, healthy, local, generous but also slightly indulgent! The accommodation was perfect for us and the lovely pool a great place to relax in the sun after a long ride. Highly recommended, Serre des Ormes is a find! If you are able to travel within the current Covid restrictions, this is definitely worth considering.

Kate and Paul are excellent hosts who go that extra mile for you. Meals and accommodation were outstanding. Garage was well stocked with tools and for secure storage of bikes. Highly recommended and would not hesitate to visit again.
