We stayed at La Petite Houssaye for a week. We loved the surroundings of Normandy (the landing beaches and beautiful Bayeux are about 30 mins by car), but some of our favourite days were spent lying in the garden, reading books, playing games and watching the horses, chickens, cats and dogs. It’s so peaceful and quiet, I had the best sleep I’d had in months. Fiona and Richard super nice and accommodating, and tell lots of stories about the old cider farm and its history. This made it extra special. They go the extra mile but give you space and privacy, although they’re around if you have questions. Breakfast is lovely, with fresh pastries and baguette with cheese or eggs. There was a kitchen for communal use (there are only three rooms, so you’ve mostly for it to yourself). If you want to be in a bustling place, this isn’t for you. You can’t walk to shops or restaurants, but we liked the quiet and remoteness, and Saint-Lô is only a 15-minute drive away. There is also canoeing, hikes and many cycling opportunities nearby (or along the beaches if you drive the car with bikes there first). I really hope we get to go back to La Petite Houssaye some day!

What a lovely place to stay. Easy to find but totally secluded at the end of a lane (if SatNav says you've arrived, keep going for a little longer) A fabulous welcome from the 2 & 4 legged hosts. Amazing old farm house with great big court yard. A "work in progress" but the accommodation is finished and perfect. Beautifully decorated, excellent facilities. Fantastic hosts who will do every thing they can to help you have a great stay, be it for pleasure or business. Great base for Normandy, whatever you plan to do too. Cannot praise it highly enough and wish we had been staying for longer so will be back!
