To start off the place was run down and the food was below average (taste and quality). I placed the breakfast order the night before as i was asked to and yet they managed to bring something totally different and tell me that this is all they have! Their poached eggs tasted like plastic. Overall waste of money. The deluxe... More

We were very lucky to have one of the room on the top floor. The room was huge, had lovely views over the sea and a decent balcony. Gym was decent condition if a bit small. Equipment was all new and worked well and had aircon too. Staff were friendly and food was very good. No WiFi in the rooms.... More

40 rooms spread out in the grounds of the resort. It is adjoining the sea and river. Large rooms with air-conditioning and fans. Luxurious bathrooms with brand new fittings and amenities. The food was out of this world - masterclass. Breakfast and dinner goes with the room. The dessert buffet and ala carte menus were a feast to behold. Cannot... More

Me and a friend chose to stay here one weekend during our 2 week trip volunteering in Ambalangoda. We wanted a bit of luxury after sleeping in bunk beds in a volunteer house! We had a room with two large single beds, the wifi didn't work in the room at first but soon sorted itself out. The air con was... More

We had a fabulous 4 days stay at Mandara resort to start our trip to explore Sri Lanka. The management and staff were very accommodating, super courteous and spoke very good English. The area was quite and tranquil away from but near main town which made it easy to get around. Highly recommended.

We stayed at this hotel with the express intention of whale watching - as I guess is the case for many others. First the good points. Our room was fantastic, large, clean and with a lovely view over the ocean. The beach is great and there is a small but adequate grassy area on which to relax on a sunlounger.... More

We stayed for 3 nights in this well-run hotel where the staff are very friendly and helpful. We were on a half-board basis and the 4-course dinners we had in the evening were excellent. The hotel is a bit of a way from the centre of Marissa but you can take a tuk tuk or use the local bus service.... More
