We were thrilled about every aspect of our stay.
Our room was clean. I used to supervise the housekeeping dept. at a Best Western and I seldom can say wow. The hotel is older but the Chrome was shiny and the bathroom was spotless
Dan was a great captain and we were thrilled with all the stories and details of Nootka. When we were done the trail he stopped and let us watch the whales and did not rush. ( more than once!)
Christina and Dan are educated and are walking encyclopedias of the wildlife and the culture of the islands.
We were amazed at the service. The food was excellent and the ladies in the kitchen were excellent cooks and endearing at the same time.

We loved our stay in this charming hotel with spacious rooms and kitchenettes, all spotlessly clean. The salmon and pasta prepared by owner Cristina was worthy of any five-star restaurant. Her husband Dan is a wonderful raconteur and both of them have a wealth of knowledge about local history and the natural world. We plan to return soon and recommend it to our friends.

The room was small but adequate. The bed was comfortable. There is a large area for meals but it was not operating during our stay. Fortunatly we were equipped with camping gear.
We would return as it is the only game in town and Zeballos is a charming village.

We stayed one night in their "honeymoon suite" after a long kayaking trip. The room we had was spacious with little kitchenette and sofa and TV. The bathroom was great, big tub with jacuzzi features made the day - after all we hadn't had shower in a week! Interior desing had stayed in the 70's, but I reminded myself that we where "in the woods", not in a busy city.
The hostess welcomed us in already before noon, showed us where we could hang our wet kayaking gear. Later in the evening we enjoyed her cooking - wonderful fish with perfectly fresh vegetables and very filling dessert pie.
This place is so much better than the other hotel in Zeballos village, I am still surprised how the other hotel dares to keep same price for the room as Cedar's Inn (or Mason's Motor Lodge, same building with 2 names) does. Our "honeymoon suite" cost 145CAD + tax, it was worth of it.
When we return to Zeballos for another kayaking trip, we'll very likely stay at this place if the owners still are there.

The hotel was very clean, rooms small they had wi fi but my TV didn't work and we suspected it was the satellite. I had salmon dinner in their restaurant which was so good if I was alone I would licked the plate. If I were in that location again I would stay and eat there again

Delightful package with water taxi, kayak rental, local knowledge, wildlife spotting, friendly service. Dan and Kris are great. Highly recommended.

P.S. Make sure you arrive with all your specialty items; this is the end of the road.

In July 20010 we were on a kayaking trip with a small group. Two couples had booked this place to stay while he kept our options open until we got to Zeballos. When we all looked at the rooms in The Cedars, the rooms were found to be very musty smelling, and dindge so everyone decided to move to the small motel down the street. We did eat at the restaurant in The Cedars and it was just OK.

We were in Zeballos again this summer and stayed at The Post & Beam which was much better. It appeared to us that the restaurant at the Cedars is now closed, as there is much less traffic into Zeballos. We ate dinner and breakfast at the Post and Beam and were very pleased with the food, generous portions and hospitality of the owner.

We had a wonderful experience at Cedars Inn &Zeballos Expeditions. The owners and staff were incredible. The fishing was the best fishing trip we have ever had. It's a little hidden treasure. We plan to return next year.

A lovely old fashioned style hotel situated within a delightful village. The room was clean and tidy with a large en-suite. The owners were charming and very helpful and we enjoyed superb dinners and tasty breakfasts. A great place to say and do go on one of Dans boats trips, which are fantastic.
