APA Hotel Shinjuku Kabukicho Tower is often praised for its prime location near attractions and transport links, though noise levels can be a concern for some guests, particularly on weekends. The hotel's amenities, including a laundromat, spa, and currency exchange, are generally well-regarded, as are the tastefully decorated rooms.
However, reviewers frequently mention small, cramped rooms, and mixed experiences with cleanliness and service. While some guests commend the helpful staff and daily maintenance, others cite issues with dust, cleaning regularity, and occasional rudeness.

The location of the hotel is great if you want to be in the middle of the pulsating life of Kabukicho, but it is never very quiet at night. As in all Apa hotels, the rooms are tiny but well furnished, the bed is comfortable, 4 pillows are standard, etc. The breakfast is worth the price, but of course there are plenty of cafes and combinis in the area where you can get something else. Unfortunately, a much taller building was built in front of the hotel, so the view from the rooms is only of limited interest.

We stayed 7 days in July. Very good location, close to Shinjuku station, restaurant and shops, kind and helping staff. We lost our luggages in flight and the staff updated us every day until they finally arrived. Rooms are clean and small (as it is common in Japan) but confortable enough, the bed is a bit too small for two people with blankets too hot for summer. The staff leaves towels and tea, cups, etc. every day at the door so you always get new ones. Rooms are cleaned every three days but you can leave trash bags and dirty towels out of the door and the staff take them away. Laundry machines are only three so always busy and the dryer takes hours to dry properly. Breakfast is good and complete with both sweet and salty food and the kitchen staff is kind, but be aware that if you go late you must queue. The only problem was the strong air con, the breakfast room was too cold for us, same as the bedroom, so we had to keep it off and suffer the heat. It's ok if you are used to strong aircon. The experience in the complex was good.

This hotel is located in a great location, walking distance to quite a few places and not too far from the train location. The room was o.k. In pricing but you are really paying for location. The spa is spacious and nice and they have a laundromat. Restaurant connected to hotel. They charge MORE if you don’t make reservations through the hotel. My stay was good but unfortunately the front desk staff was pretty rude and not helpful.

I am writing this review from the perspective of someone who works as a guest experience agent in one of the best hotels in Antalya, Turkey's most touristic city. I had a wonderful vacation in Tokyo, and my stay at APA Hotel was truly exceptional. As a guest, I found that every need was thoughtfully anticipated in the room. From toothbrushes and toothpaste to snacks, everything was provided, which made my stay incredibly convenient and comfortable. One of the features I appreciated the most was the ability to connect my phone to the television.
The hotel also had an exchange machine, which was extremely helpful during my stay it's not something you find in every hotel, and it made currency exchange a breeze.
The staff were attentive and always greeted me with a smile. I want to extend my special thanks to Mr. Sado at the reception. He was particularly helpful in assisting me with extending my stay, making the process smooth and hassle-free.
The cleanliness of the hotel was top-notch, with the rooms being well-maintained daily. The overall service was excellent.
The hotel is conveniently located, with easy access to transportation. I found it very easy to get around the city. Additionally, the area surrounding the hotel is full of cafes and restaurants, making it an ideal location for any traveler.
Overall, I highly recommend APA Hotel for anyone visiting Tokyo. It was a memorable experience, and I would gladly stay here again

Small room but clean, comfortable and functional. I LOVE how the bathroom spigot also doubles as the bathtub faucet (Japanese ingenuity). Housekeeping services only done every 3rd day however you can request for towels and toiletries every time. Bed is surprisingly comfortable and you get 4 pillows. Hotel allows you to store baggage in their lobby for free if you need to check out but still want to roam around Tokyo.
Location is great in the heart of Shinjuku with a Starbucks next door and so many convenience shops around (including Don Quixote which is just a 5-min walk away!). However, note that Shinjuku is a red light district so if you have minors (or seniors) with you, you might want to avoid this area.

Ideal location - close to everything - on foot. Nice neighborhood if you like entertainment, or even more. With a decent price it can do it, the smallest room/and bathroom occupied in this area for us, and frankly at the end of your stay, it should really be avoided! We can barely open the suitcases = impossible to move, and not much better when they are stored under the bed! The occupied room, although located on the top floor, is a little noisy, especially on weekends. It is clean, well equipped, everything in its place…. The bedding is not very comfortable, as are the pillows. For cleaning you have to ask, just like for a daily change of towels (which will be placed in a plastic bag on your door handle). Important information can be read on the large flat screen in the room: onsen occupancy (male/female, etc.) There is no breakfast, but coffee pods/pods are available. Everything is automated, we do the Inn Check ourselves and when we slip the keys into the box for this purpose upon departure, check out = your departure is automatically recorded!!! The entrance (other than reception) to access the rooms is secure, you must have your room card. In fact, we hardly saw any staff in this hotel.

The experience at this hotel was not very good. The rooms are quite small, but I was aware of this as it's common in Japan. However, what made the experience very unpleasant was the complete lack of customer care from the reception desk to the guests. I requested an iron several times on different days, but the front desk showed no concern for my request, and they lacked empathy towards the guests. It's truly disappointing. When i asked if they could book it, the said no. When i asked if they could call me when they had one available, they said no. At that point i asked how could they help me to solve the problem and the answer was: sorry, i can not do anything. I can understand if this were a budget hotel, but I don't accept this kind of treatment from a hotel that considers itself a luxury establishment. Such treatment is not acceptable.

Booked myself a Double Room, which I feel was really small to be called that. The twin rooms for the rest of my family was adequately sized
The double bed in my room was very comfortable and the extra pillows were much appreciated. Great amenities in the bathroom although the bathroom was also cramped for me
Location is great, within walking distance to Shinjuku area for food, drinks & entertainment. Breakfast was adequate
The staff were brilliant, helping my family with Takuhaibin service (which was extremely professional and arrived before we did at our next destination)

I knew what we were getting into with the tiny room, that is the compromise for being the centre of Shinjuku, one of the busiest places on the planet - but it was let down by cleanliness. 1. The toilet reeked of urine, not matter how much we cleaned it. 2. I left the surfaces in the room much cleaner than I found them, they could not have had even a light wipe before we arrived. The room was very dusty, perhaps the air conditioner needed a clean. Apart from being dusty, the air conditioning worked okay if it had enough time to cool the space. The location is brilliant, albeit not the nicest part of the city! From what I saw, the security staff earn their pay - I definitely respected them and they kept the lobby clear and safe. The ice machine on the top floor was great. Laundry facilities worked well but were extremely busy. They mostly located in the men’s changing room so I think it would have been extremely challenging for an all female party. The communication through the TV in the room was quite clever e.g., which day our room would get a deep clean. Staff emptied our bins each day when we left them outside and left fresh towels on the door which worked well.
If the toilet didn’t stink I would have been very happy and would have said it was good value for Tokyo!
