What a lovely place to stay. Very much value for money. I received a text message in the morning giving clear details of how to enter the property and make ourselves at home. Convenient to Hillarys Marina and beach. Cannot fault this B & B

We couldn't recommend staying at the Sorrento Beach Bed & Breakfast more highly. The accommodation was exactly as shown in the photographs and was extremely clean and spacious. There were so many extras to make our stay special such as a good selection of DVD's, a variety of nine new magazines, dressing gowns and slippers. We stayed in winter and the heating was put on for us and we had an electic blanket for our bed. Little extras such as make-up removal wipes, cotton wool and bathroom toiletries were also included. A varied selection of tea was available in our room daily as well as coffee and biscuits.

The breakfast was absolutely lovely and every day we had different treats. During our week we had eggs three different ways, bacon, quiche, cakes, fresh fruit, yogurt, a choice of bread for toast, juice, tea and coffee and there was plenty of everything.

Clodagh and Alan were the perfect hosts and would help us if we needed advice regarding trips, bus/train times etc.

If we return to Perth for another holiday we will definitely be staying at the Sorrento Beach Bed and Breakfast.

Stayed at end of April for 6 nights. We are 2 couples and had a enormously great staying time here. We had access upstairs on the 2nd level, where there are 2 bedrooms (queen sized + twin beds) and 1 bathroom + toilet. The toilet can be entered separately from the bathroom (which is good if you are in a group). The bathroom is connected between the 2 bedrooms, so if you're in the bathroom do not forget to lock the other door!

The breakfast was wonderful! Coffee made from espresso machine, fresh fruits, cereals, milk, marmalade, jam, multigrained and white bread and pastries. We were talking about scones with Clodagh (our host) and the next morning she made plain scones and the morning after raisin scones, which were such a delight! Homemade! And I got weetbix too! Yay!

Definitely a very nice stay for us. We parked our car at the driveway which is safe as it is in a safe suburb. 5 mins by car to Hillary Boat Harbour, which has San Churros and Little Caesars Pizza.

Kitchenette: Microwave, mini fridge, sink, utensils, coffee/tea, lollies, water, milk

Bathroom: Bathtub w jacuzzi, shower area with great water pressure, 2x sinks, hairdryer, handwash, hand cream, shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, brightly lit!

Lounge: Large flatscreen TV, dvd player, assorted dvds, reclining sofa chairs x2, 2-seater sofa, a table of info guides around perth metro and nearby Mandurah etc.

Bedroom 1: Queen bed, walk in closet, overhead fan, luggage stand, table

Bedroom 2: Twin beds, closet, overhead fan

I will definitely stay here when we return to Perth again! Thank you Clodagh and Allan!

We recently returned from a brief trip "down under" - 2 weeks is really the minimum - and part of our stay was based at the Sorrento Beach B&B before flying up to the Cape Range National Park. Our aim was simply to find a great place to stay in a quiet location close to both Perth City and the coast to make the most of our City leg of the holiday. As in most cases I suspect my wife did all the hard work beforehand researching all the potential places both in and out of the City and came up with Alan and Clodagh's wonderful B&B as a prime solution.

Firstly coming from the UK where we all live piled on top of each other the feeling of space and size of the living accommodation is much more generous generally in Australia but the clever conversion of their home to accommodate guests allowing them independent access and privacy was well done. The separate first floor area with self contained en suite shower whirlpool bath and kitchenette facilities as well as a generous and comfortable bed made us feel at home relaxed and immediately ready to enjoy our stay - even though our flight arrived at 1 am in the morning!

We felt our hosts got the balance just right in providing help assistance and attention when needed but allowing us to do our own thing too which was nice.

The whole property was in excellent order and maintained to a high standard - we certainly felt we had chosen well ( ok - my wife did all the choosing ) !

The breakfast was excellent and although additional cooked options were available we found the continental fare was just perfect enough.

From this suburban location it was only a short walk to the beach and with Hillary's Boatyard equally accessible on foot there was a good range of shops food outlets and open spaces to enjoy. This included the AQWA ( Aquarium of Western Australia ) which for us was a very enjoyable few hours spent with the marine life. There were also many areas within a short drive where all manner of food is available from standard worldwide fast food brands to fish and chip takeaways and good restaurants

Having hired a car access into Perth and Fremantle was easy and ( by comparison to our journeys into London back in the UK) a breeze. Parking in both are easy and relatively cheap and there is a great free bus and train service in central Perth to help tourists get around.

Our stay was 4 nights before heading north and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sorrento Beach B&B. our hosts - being well travelled themselves - seemed to understand what guests are looking for and ensure this is provided to a high standard.

We would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Lovely to wake up in the morning and see that great review. Thank you for taking the time to write it. Yes I agree this is a great base in Sorrento to explore Perth. You certainly made the most of your 5 days stay here which included some nice long walks along the coast in perfect autumn weather. Don't leave it too long before you come back again.

We stayed here in March 2013 as it was midway between Perth city and where our son was living in Yanchep. We could not have chosen a better place to stay. The location was ideal, Clodagh was a very attentive host and the facilities afforded to guests were second to none. The bathroom was huge with complimentary toiletries etc. and guest bathrobes & slippers were provided in the large walk into wardrobe (hangers provided). The lounge area for guests was very welcome after a day's sightseeing and wi-fi was free! Guest refreshment facilities were plentiful as was the very satisfying breakfast in the conservatory area. Clodagh was most accommodating in allowing our son to leave his car on the drive during the day whilst we all went out together. This establishment is exactly as the website portrays, a beautiful bed & breakfast and we would recommend it to friends, family and anyone who wants to stay near to Perth city.

We stayed for 2 nights because we wanted a different experience this time and what with CHOGM going on and its limited access to the city by car, we reckon we will stay out of the city and near the water instead.

When we arrived, we only knew that there's only one group per stay and therefore you are not sharing the bathroom with another guest. This is nice. The room was reasonably clean save for the dusty fan above our bed. The walk in wardrobe is a nice touch. There were even bedroom slippers. The house is located near a bus stop and if you are a light sleeper, you might be disturbed. Other than the occasional motorcycle rambling down the street, the house is located on a quiet street with a short walk to Hillary Harbour and other dining spots. There is a large flat screen TV and counter space with a sink and fridge in the living room. The rooms are located upstairs of the house and might be a problem for people with bad knees.

Two of the face towels were stained in the usually soiled areas and I used them to wipe around the sink instead.

There are two sinks in the bathroom. The bathroom was large enough to accommodate more people if you are in a rush.

The breakfast was average with plunger coffee and tea. There were a few spots on the dishes and I need to clean them before using them. The tea pot really needs to be scrubbed as the tea stains were pretty obvious to me.

I would recommend if you want dinning recommendations around the area, you have to do the homework yourself. It's a hit or miss in Perth's infamous reputation in customer service.

Otherwise, the hosts were friendly and helped us with a minor car situation.

Felt like we put the owner out as soon as we arrived, we were given instructions not a welcome. It was great to have a lounge room and the bedroom was comfortable. Advertised as B&B, but on arrival was told breakfast was extra $15 each.
Seperate cooling/heating would be nice. We stayed up later than our hosts and the heating was turned off early. Felt like we were at gran’s house.

Good to hear you enjoyed the lounge area. There are 2 prices for the Queen Room... price which includes breakfast and one without breakfast which is $30 less. This is clearly stated on the website. The no breakfast rate is a popular option as guests may like to go out later to eat, go to family or just want to have a long lie in. You were offered breakfast for the extra cost but declined. As regards the heating we do try to get it right and it does state on the welcome letter to let us know by text, email or by coming down to turn the temp up or down. Thank you for your review.
