Arrived at the hotel on the 21st of April with my boyfriend and was very welcoming in reception by Shaun. We had mistakenly paid for a taxi to get there which cost £130!!! noticing the mistake Shaun recommended helping us out with transfers back to the airport for a much cheaper price which was very helpful. The room was clean...

We spent 4 nights at the start of summer in a suite. The room was clean, quiet and spacious with nice views of the surrounding mountains. The hotel bar was also nice with a few locals but never busy - expect to pay £16 for 2 beers, which about average in Iceland. Breakfast is simple but effective, hot and cold...

We arrived here late at night and we're tired from traveling the hotel had no reservation for us but we had proof of booking despite this they couldn't have been more accommodating and found us a room. The room was comfortable and fit 4 of us in and we had a lovely view of the mountains. We we're unlucky as...

Located outside Reykyavik (easily reached by a bus, the bus stop is right outside the hotel), Hotel Laxnes is a great base for exploring Iceland. Friendly greeting on arrival, and we were given a free upgrade to a larger room/suite with balcony, which got us off to a good start. The room was clean and comfortable, a bit basic but...

Stayed here for five nights at the end of March/beginning of April and had a fab time. I did a lot of research before booking this hotel but I'm so glad I chose it over the ones in Reykjavik which can be very bland, utilitarian and often on busy main roads. Rooms here were basic but clean, toasty warm and...

Functional, not luxurious. Easy to find with great views. Near to supermarket, food outlets, fuel station and an awesome local bakery. Also near to Alafoss falls and wool mill. Great breakfast in a relaxed setting. Overall - basic and comfortable.

Really clean room in Room 25. Really helpful staff & they gave me a late check out without any issue. The front desk was very helpful. Good fast food and other restaurants nearby & quiet area. Would strongly recommend :)

We stayed at the Hotel Laxnes for four nights in late March-early April, 2017. It is a quaint, low-key lodging about 15 minutes outside of Reykjavik (do not take a taxi from the airport -- unbelievably expensive). The rooms are simple and clean. The wonderful staff -- manager Shaun, Nunu, Karl, and Jasper -- were responsive, helpful, and friendly. They...

The hotel is just outside of Reykjavik maybe a 20 minute drive? (DO NOT GET A TAXI was very expensive) there is a bus 15 that takes you to town just outside of the hotel which is much cheaper! The views from the hotel are soo beautiful very scenic, mountains etc etc! One night we saw the Northern light above...
