I stayed here as a solo business traveller from 13-19th October and was not disappointed at all. Firstly, I was given an upgraded room at no extra cost which was great! The staff, Catalina and Shaun, particularly, on the reception were warm, friendly and extremely helpful. Especially, in helping me print maps, bus timetables and my presentation I was giving...

Wonderful, cosy hotel. Was made to feel very welcome, room was very comfortable and lovely views out to to the mountains. Breakfast only, but the porridge and waffles were the best! We saw the northern lights on our first night from our room window, and it was absolutely amazing. All tours picked up and dropped off at the hotel too....

Returned to Laxnes for a second visit this November and had another amazing experience! Friendly and helpful staff, fast wifi, amazing views, and all the amenities to make you feel at home. The location is perfect, just outside of the city but close enough to drive or take the bus in as well. Love this place and will definitely be...

Expensive for what you get (considering what we have been paying), old 60s decor. Underfloor heating which is nice but we were hot and couldn't cool down. Nice enough, clean, bathroom good size. Hotel outfit nice and pub like, has a hot pot (didn't use), breakfast is very decent (standard Icelandic fare). Great bakery nearby and shops. BLOODY NOISY ROAD...

Thanks for your input on our hotel but must need to correct a few issues as we are on the more budget end of the market meaning our prices are fairly low . We are able to control the under ground heating if you would have asked us to lower this as the weather has been cold recently .The hotel...

Nice quaint, cosy and friendly Hotel, about 10 miles from reykjavik, upon arrival the receptionist was very helpfull and he asked if we had excursions booked as he would call them all to confirm for us, which was very helpfull. This is certainly not a hotel if you require the 4/5 * standards but is very clean, comfortable and some...

My wife and I had a 4 night stay at the Hotel Laxnes during a very cold week in November. Despite the cold weather, our room was really warm and cosy. We had a great view of the mountains from our room and we saw the Northern Lights on our first night, which was a very special moment. The room...

I had an amazing time in Iceland, and Hotel Laxnes made the trip even better. Everyone, especially Shaun, were very helpful and accommodating. The room had a great view of the mountains. The village and bakery, within walking distance, were great. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and the bar was nice for the late night. The owner was very personable...

Everyone was nice and really helpful, and very friendly. This place is not in downtown Reykjavik, but in a suburb so you take the #15 bus to Mosfellsbaer. (If you like yarn, it's walking distance from Alafoss!) Personally, I don't mind taking the bus for a couple days into downtown because I like to look at the houses and normal...
