We booked this up before Covid started and they owners have been extremely helpful allowing us to change our dates. We booked up for two nights originally then decided to have an extra night. We have just got a rescue dog and were unsure on how she would be as we haven’t travelled far with her before. When we arrived we decided to have a cream tea. Definitely worth having. Our room led on to the garden which was a bonus for us having the dogs. It was bigger than most living rooms. All very clean and light and airy. Nice comfortable bed and really nice bathroom with hot walk in shower. We ate in the dining room on the first night. I had pie and my partner had lamb chops. All fresh from the butchers. Served up hot and well prepared. For stater we had garlic mushrooms and trout. Excellent food. Really friendly nice staff. Full English breakfast is available every morning or cereal and yoghurt. We visited friends while we were here so it was not too far to Plymouth. Just across from the guest house are some lovely fields. The owner has allowed guests to walk around them. Was nice taking the dogs out in the morning especially as there is a river flowing close. Lots of wild life to see. Very peaceful and relaxing stay. Might bring my parents down here when we come back. Thank you for an excellent break. Have been sending pictures to all our friends and family

From the moment we stepped out of the car Rick and Gina couldn't have made us feel more welcomed. Stunning location, excellent, spacious room, and an excellent breakfast. Plenty to see and do in the area, it's a wonderful place to stay and highly recommended.

Had a very enjoyable stay at this B&B. Was welcomed by Gina who arranged a booking at a local pub for our dinner. Returned to the B&B and enjoyed a couple of drinks at the bar and met Rick and some of the family. Very friendly environment. Met Barbara the follow morning who cooked our delicious breakfast. Would recommend this lovely B&B.

We stayed for two nights and was greeted in friendly fahsion by Rick and eventually Gina. We realised via previous e-mails the dinner option was no longer available so Rick had booked us in at the Red Lion. They even took us there and picked us up afterwards which was so kind. Breakfast was fine too. My major problem is the room we had i.e. the thinness of the walls/ceilings where you could hear everything ... during the day and night! I've never slept so poorly but I am a light sleeper. Rooms are also in need of refurbishment which is probably in line with the age of the building. We had a power cut on day two evening which was rectified pretty quickly. WE also thought we'd have access to hot water all day which wasn't the case too. The Guest House is rather isolated which clearly suits a lot of guests but not us. A lovely family feel overall and the other reviews indicate the popularity which I totally get. It's just not for us but thank you Rick, Gina, Barbara and our 'family' lifts anyway. Totally appreciated.

My boyfriend and I visited the Bark House for a couple of nights and had the best weekend! Rick, Gina and Barbara are the most friendly and helpful people, nothing was too much trouble! Rick went above and beyond to look after us and although we didn’t spend all of our time in the Bark House we left feeling like we’d made new friends! Will definitely be coming back. Not only was the service so lovely, the food was amazing and our room was perfect. The location is beautiful! Thank you for a wonderful stay, see you again soon Bark House!
