The Exeter Inn has undergone a stunning, yet sympathetic refurbishment in 2019 and is delighted to offer you the highest standard of accommodation within this traditional Devon Long House. Each room has it's own en-suite, large screen TVs, hair dryers and complimentary hot drinks and toiletries. Breakfast is included within the room price and provides a choice of a hearty cooked breakfast as well as Continental. We serve food from 12pm until late every day but we do recommend that you reserve your table as we get extremely busy. The property is located just a 15 minute drive from Junction 27 of the M5 and is situated on the edge of Exmoor. So as well as being able to enjoy country pursuits, it's central location in devon means that it is in easy driving distance of both the north & south Devon coastlines as well as the Cathedral City of Exeter. Absolutely perfect for exploring our beautiful county!

Booked two nights here for a birthday treat. Never sure about staying in a pub, but the photos of the rooms looked nice, so I went for it ! Room did not disappoint - beautifully decorated and presented, with a comfy king size bed. Immaculate bed linen and towels too. Bathroom was also spotless, with a very modern shower and auto vanity mirror. All the staff I encountered were nice, polite and friendly. I was worried it would be noisy, both from the bars below and the close proximity of the road, but I heard very little. The windows had double glazing fitted, and a modern fan was provided to keep it cool. I booked a table to eat on the second night: food was superb, hot, tasty and plentiful. All in all I was very happy with my stay - and felt safe and reassured with the Covid precautions in place.

Where do I start. Firstly, the food isn't bad..when you can get a table. It is presented well and tastes okay. The chips are under done for my liking. Several times, we have called up to be told its fully booked and decided to go for a drink regardless and see that there are about 2 families being served in total yet we were refused a table? This has happened more than once. The accommodation is clean, minimal and bathroom is lovely. However, it's overpriced for somewhere that has bedrooms situated next to the road where lorries often pass throughout the night. The room was around £220 for two nights. I expect more for £110 per night. Please note, this does not include breakfast. On top of this, the drinks and bar snacks are insanely over priced. I was shocked to see that 2 half pints and 2 packets of crisps cost nearly a tenner. We then move onto the staff. The service is exceptionally slow. There are two genuinely great members of staff that have been with the pub for a while and are kind and friendly. Unfortunately the rest of the staff team don't match this. Not to mention a cold and frosty reception from management. We most certainly won't be returning to this pub which is a shame as its a lovely location and interior, let down by frosty unwelcoming management and high prices.

We arrived at 12.15 p.m. and had to wait for the two young girls to open up. There was a half-heartedly apology of ‘sorry we are late.’ I asked for an old fashioned ginger beef and was told I could have ginger beef or ginger ale. I persisted and was offered what I wanted. The menus were given to us and very shortly afterwards we were asked for our order. We had to explain we had not had time to read the,. Very poor choice and the burgers were impossible to eat given their enormous size. When we realised we were not going to be offered a dessert or coffee I asked if I could pay. I had to go to the bar to pay and no mention was made if we would like anything else. We left feeling very disappointed.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The food, the atmosphere was amazing. The staff are so lovely and the chicken burger that i had was just amazing and you can clearly tell that the really do care. And a member of staff was nice enough to show me the rooms and for an old looking building these are super modern. They supply you with a hair dryer and a really fancy fan. This is a must go place if you’re trying to get a meal or just need somewhere to stay near the moors. And the parking was easy and exessible to get into.

Tried to eat here as a couple when we arrived at 6 pm and asked for a table we were told that they were about to get extremely busy with 2 tables coming in which is fair enough but there were 2 of us and the pub had 2 people dining in these COVID times with hospitality crying out for business it seemed very strange to say the least
