Jenesien – doesn’t the mere name of this place have a fairy-tale sound to it, far away from everyday stress, and all the things you should or have to do? Up here, in the dreamy mountain village on the edge of the porphyritic rock plateau lies Hotel Belvedere. And, as if its location was not idyllic enough, this hotel with its 65-year history of family ownership, has climbed up a few more steps on the stairway to heaven. This four-star superior accommodation offers an Infinity Pool with spectacular panoramic views that really are in ‘a class of their own’: from the Dolomites high up over the Bozen valley basin to the Mediterranean landscape of the vineyard slopes of the Uberetsch. In the newer hotel wing, embedded in the hilltop below the garden, our guests can enjoy the enlarged spa and fitness area as well as the relaxation rooms and a number of delightful suites. And for those who want to step down from this heavenly paradise and take a breath of city air, there is a bus link between Jenesien and Bozen, which can take guests down to Bozen or bring them back up again in only 15 minutes.

I wish that I could give this hotel more than five stars.
From the moment we stepped onto the property, until the minute we checked out, we felt completely comfortable and at ease here. The staff are wonderful. Ramona, Silvia, Dominik, Mattias.. I know I am forgetting some folks... They made us feel like we were home. We were the only (as far as I could tell) Americans and English speakers in the hotel at the time, and we were never made to feel left out.
The room we had was STUNNING. We had one of the hill top Amira Suites which had a balcony facing the Dolomites. Every morning we had a gorgeous sunrise to view, and in the evening, we watched as the mountains turned from red, to purple, to white as the sun went down. The room is tastefully done, with great attention to detail, with every corner intentionally finished with lighting, storage, seating, etc…
The grounds are lovely. The infinity pool was a show stopper.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner were all amazing. We left each dinner feeling completely satisfied and excited by what we had eaten. We had some of the best meals of our lives here, hands down. The staff works their behinds off to make sure that you are taken care of. I am so glad we spent a few nights here, I would absolutely return.

Stayed for 6 nights. Lovely hotel, immaculate, spacious rooms, super friend staff, and of course spectacular views really enjoyed our stay
Spa facilities great
Breakfast outstanding
Staff helpful

Worth noting……
Currently no cable car which is a shame as it limits access . Hotel offering a 10:15am shuttle to bus stop daily and then free bus to Bolzano. On the way back they will pick you up from the bus stop if staff available. Otherwise it’s a very steep walk. Luckily we had a car.

Dinner … most people are half board. We weren’t so we were offered the set menu E50 3 course each day. Sometimes we had it and it was good, sometimes we asked for the bistro/a la cate and sometimes we ate at the local pizzeria (15min walk)

Rooms were lovely, well designed but no air con if this is something you need. It was hot but it was particularly hot weather

Would visit again had a great stay

This Hotel has one of the most breathtaking views you have ever seen. Unforgettable vistas over the dolomites and sunrises and sunsets you will never forget. Rooms are really smart and well designed and I loved our view on the balcony as well. The Spa area is amazing as the infinity swimming pool and the jacuzzi are outside and you will swim and relax with the best view ever. The outdoor sauna was quite an experience as well as you have still great views over Bolzano by night (make sure you don’t miss the infusion experience). The service is excellent, friendly and attentive, a special thanks to Dominik and the rest of the restaurant staff, and the food is very vegetarian friendly with great local produce to savour. The receptionists are also very knowledgable, helpful and everybody there spoke great English (not always a given in that area). I loved the Yoga session with Jasmin, not only was she a great Yoga teacher, but exercising with the sunrise over the dolomites as a background gives it an other dimension! We had such a pleasant stay there and I would recommend this Hotel to everybody who looks for some days of pampering, absolute relax and peacefulness.

It seems most of the reviews here are from influencers who have been ‚inspired‘ to make positive comments for their free accommodation.

The service in this hotel does not correspond to a luxury hotel. The owner took the order and ten minutes later came another waitress who said she had to take the order again. The drinks were so sugared that we had to send them back. Defiantly we received new ones although we had to pay extra for the previous ones. The seats were dirty and there were no ashtrays provided. These are things that should be expected in a luxury hotel. Typical South Tyrolean hotel where the service is oriented to the size of the car of the arriving guest.

Our favorite hotel during a custom wine tour of Northern Italy. The Aria Suites were large and views spectacular as others have mentioned. The location and property are as good or better than most but the service is what sets the Belvedere apart. Felt like we were part of a family for the few days we stayed and really hated to leave.

We were fortunate to be able to stay for 5 nights in this excellent hotel. The views of the mountains and Bolzano in the valley below are stunning. We stayed half-board and enjoyed the excellent breakfasts and dinners. Staff were very friendly and recommended local hiking routes. Enjoyed a guided hike provided by the hotel. Cleanliness was excellent as are pool and saunas.

We stayed at Schoenblick-Belvedere for 5 nights in May 2007. The hotel is located in Jenesien, at an altitude of 1000m, overlooking Bozen (Bolzano). We had a great time there. The views of Bozen below and the surrounding mountains, including the majestic peaks of the Rosengarten, were nothing short of stunning. The rooms were spacious and clean; and the staff (though lacking proficiency in English - German is the main language here) were very courteous and efficient. The staff organises daily activities such as hikes through the countryside, cooking classes, and trips to nearby wineries. The hotel also has a beautiful spa. Every evening, we were treated to a sumptious gourmet dinner. Pauli is an excellent chef who uses only the freshest ingredients. We were very impressed. We can definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the South Tyrol/Dolomites region.

Arrived, was greeted by friendly staff. Had Covid test done by resident doctor courtesy of hotel so we didn’t have to wear a mask. Location is 9 miles up to mountain out of Bolzano. Rooms are basic but well maintained, excellent bathroom. Breakfast is a buffet, dinner needs to be ordered in advance if possible, 5 courses cost 59 € or you can pick individual ones. Infinity pool is amazing, staff are excellent, lots of walks around the property.

We began our vacation in Italy at the Hotel Belvedere, and it was a perfect stay. We requested a room with a view, but I assume the majority of the rooms have great views. Ours, however, was breathtaking. Amazing to wake up every morning at sunrise and go out on the balcony and take in the gorgeous panorama.

Breakfast buffet was delicious, with a large variety of the staples plus some extras like fresh squeezed juice! We never ate at the hotel besides breakfast, but it was wonderful sitting on the patio to start our day. On days where it's chillier, they have pillows and blankets so you can still enjoy the view. Hotel staff was super kind and very helpful with all of our requests. We ran into one snafu with the BozenCards they gave us being expired, but the hotel reimbursed us for our transportation and museum visit since that was their error, and promptly gave us new cards when we returned to the hotel.

The property itself is quite lovely. Pool is gorgeous, and we really enjoyed using the spa facilities as well. Free parking was a plus. The cable car was only a 5 min walk away to take you down into Bolzano, but be aware it's about a 20-min walk into the main city center from there. The cable car also only runs every 30 min, and the last run is around 6pm so if you want to go to dinner, you'll have to drive.

Would highly recommend!
