I think some of the negative reviews on here are a bit over the top. We only booked one night here as one of our dogs can be reactive to noise and we weren't sure how she would handle it. Yes the carpets are worn and its dated but what do you expect in an old dog friendly building? This...

this used to be a lovely stop off for good homemade food. Why they have to serve half baked baguettes when could easily have freshly made bread delivered daily!! Don't ask for anything that's not on the menu as don't cater for anything that's isn't!! Wanted a cheese and onion sandwich and was told no only baguettes and no onion...

Me and my husband wanted to go away and take our puppy with us. We came across this place on the internet and it said it was dog friendly so we promptly booked it. Afterwards I looked at tripadvisor and saw all the negative reviews so I was a little worried. However there was no need. Everyone is going on...

We had driven past this pub on our way to our rental cottage in Lulworth Cove and decided to try it our one evening. Big mistake - or perhaps the bigger one was that we had not checked it out first on Trip Advisor. The selection of ciders was fantastic and we really liked the idea of being able to...

Walked up from the lovely pub where I was staying (lulworth cove inn) and found the nice looking (from the outside) castle inn. Upon entering was greeted by the most awful smell ,followed by the sight of a 50 year old manky carpet. It was 11.40 and the pub wasn't actually open but the lady was kind enough to take...

A superb location and looks charming outside. The bar is busy. The hotel is not cheap and most B&Bs would be better value and better furbished. The reception is friendly and helpful. The carpets are dirty (maybe that's what you get at dog friendly) the bed was small and uncomfortable, the pillows old ad sagged in the middle. The bathroom...

Very disappointing food. Tasteless, lack of presentation. I have never written a bad review, only ever bother if good to report, but I really was surprised at food. A good selection of cider sold & a prime position near cove could not make up for standard of food. Maybe we visited on a day when chef was off. Chips tasted...

We chose this inn as it seemed extremely dog friendly and we were not disappointed on that score. We arrived a little after 3pm and was shown straight to our room which admittedly was a bit dated but functional for what we needed i.e. somewhere to sleep of a night as we were not planning to spend all day there....

The room was a good size and the hotel had lots of character. The young staff were friendly and breakfast was good but... you could not get away from dogs. FOUR in the breakfast room - and the dog hairs on the bedroom carpet. Inflexible about breakfast - not before 8.30 which is too late on a weekday and surprised...

The staff in this pub are very friendly, the pub excels withs its range of cider on offer (at least 50 when we attended). The cider was excellent, and the beer kept well (there beer selection is good with the average number of hand pumps you'd see in most pubs). We chose to eat lunch and had the Mackerel Ploughman's...
