By Lennart Petersson and Margaretha Frisk from Sweden. Our first tripp to South Afrika and our first time to go for Safari. All our thinking and discussion around what IT Will be to see the animal in their natur and come them so close was amasing. The two days in Kariega Game Reserv, Main Loge give us so many memories....

An amazing experience and made all the better by the staff. Rosie was our ranger and her knowledge and passion for the animals and environment would be extremely hard to beat. We went on every game drive and saw the big 5 plus a lot more. Memorable.

First time in South Africa and on safari. Didn't know what to expect, but we were not disappointed, seeing 4 of the big 5, plus so many other wild animals. Loved the early morning game drives. Really liked that your ranger greets you at reception and is your point of contact for everything. Rosie was terrific, informative, helpful and fun. Dining...

Kariega Game Reserve boasts five different lodges within its 10000 hectares of land so research which one best suits your requirement and budget. Home for us for five nights (x10 game drives) was Ukhozi Lodge. Ideally located in the middle of the reserve means no long drive before catching sight of your first animal. It's not just about the 'Big...

An amazing end to our honeymoon. The service and lodge is faultless and a very special place. Our guide Vicky was wonderful and was hugely knowledgable and passionate about the animals and the environment. We saw loads and very close up! Amazing memories and super friendly staff. Thank you

The area around Ukhozi is awesome, lodges are nice but the whole interior is old as dirt. Service, staff and rangers perfect - but unfortunately not our lodge. Therefore we went over to Settlers Drift Lodge which was an amazing accommodation. These both lodges compared, Settlers Drift would be 100* and Ukhozi only 1*.

Dear Katarina, We are so disappointed to read that you were so unhappy with Ukhozi Lodge. We have so many happy guests who review our lodge with 5-stars on TripAdvisor that we are quite shocked at your feedback. Due to the fact that you were incredibly difficult on arrival at the lodge we did our utmost to find you alternative...

The safari we had was wonderful. This was our first time in South Africa and our guide, JC was fabulous. He was informative and personable. Every sighting of big game was met with great enthusiasm. The game reserve is huge and a combination of plains and bush.

When we returned to the UK from Kariega, I looked at some of the negative reviews here to see what sort of complaints people had. I am bewildered by many of them. Who would sleep in tented accommodation, however luxurious, and expect it to be bug free? Who would expect a champagne reception on arrival? Who would compare such a...

Ukhozi is just one of the lodges on this game reserve, they have five in total all offering their own unique experience. The location of Kariega is approximately one and half hours drive out of Port Elizabeth and the game reserve itself is a lovely location with some fantastic scenery. The game drives (one early morning and one late afternoon)...
