Am unable to fault the hotel at all was a comfortable stay. Breakfast and evening meal enjoyable. My letdown was our family gathering in the function room for the afternoon for my grandfathers wake who had been a resident of ottery st mary most of his life and a well respected man of the community. Difficult to order drinks at...

Went to tumbling weir today for a wake, some guests were staying at the hotel. Whilst the food was ok the staff and the way they treated the guests of a wake was very poor. If anyone wanted a drink it seemed a real problem for someone to come to the bar. The hotel supplied food for the wake but...

Stayed for a couple of nights on a dinner bed and breakfast basis. Room was basic but adequate for a short break. Cooked breakfast was good and we enjoyed the evening meals other than the steak that my husband found rather tough! The garden is a lovely spot to sit and enjoy a drink. Noise was not really the fault...

We received a lovely friendly welcome when we checked in from the owner Lynn who seeing us struggling to help my mother in law up the stairs and deal with...

Breakfast was excellent with home made jam and marmalade and dinner was a superb choice of food on each evening. The service throughout was...

We stayed for 1 night en route further west. Comfortable room with all the expected amenities, although we prefer more modern decor. Excellent dinner in the restaurant and good service. Very reasonably priced so we may well return if heading to Cornwall.

We came here for a Diamond Wedding lunch and stayed the night. I was impressed with how good the 3 course lunch was, especially when 40 people were being catered for, and how unobtrusive and efficient the staff were. My portion of pate was very generous and the trout fillet was excellent, served with plenty of vegetables. I later discovered...
